Easily a contender for 'Worst Episode of the Season' this one, due in large to Alex Siddig's bemusingly awful performance when he's playing Vantika possessing Bashir.
The story itself isn't that bad, in fact for a while it's quite interesting. Sadly it all goes to pot when the perpetrator is identified and Siddig gets to show his 'range'
Disappointing really, I usually like Siddig's performances as Bashir, this is one of those early first season exceptions though.
Bonus marks for Julie Caitlin Brown though

I kind of like this one but Siddig is fairly terrible at playing the villan
I thought the story itself was good, which just about came through despite the actiong problems :)

I quite enjoyed it, too. Although I have to agree... Alex Siddig was poor when playing the villain. Not my favourite episode, but it was ok. Not sure I'd go along with James with saying the ep is a contender for one of the worst of the season, but it's a long way from being the best, too.

This one doesn't go down as a particularily bad one - it's more of a forgettable one.
It's odd that for the first episode where Bashir gets centre stage, he's being posessed so isn;t really being himself at all!
What I preferred much more was the B-story about Odo and the Starfleet security guy - one of the nice things about DS9 is that while we have our by-the-book Starfleet crew, there's still contempt for the likes of Odo, who will do what they need to do to get the job done.

Just another 'boo...hiss....' for Siddig's pantomime villain

Yep, that's some of the worst acting I've ever seen
The story is fairly standard and obvious from the off, but I like the way the crew gradually uncover what's going on and, as Phillip has said, the Odo situation is very well handled. I like the way he doesn't take credit when the other guy discovers the device.
Always nice to see Caitlin Brown too
Overall not bad but pretty much by the numbers :)
