Q arrives on DS9 fresh from exploring the Gamma Quadrant with Vash. Soon afterwards, power fluctuations grip the station.

This should have been so much better.
Q was always a highlight for me when he showed up on TNG. Sadly here, his character, and his relationship with Sisko is nothing like his turns on TNG.
There are a few highlights; Sisko walloping Q, much to Q's surprise. "You hit me. Picard never hit me....." And, it's always a pleasure to see the  Vash
Aside from that though, this one was fairly mediocre. Quark proves himself to be quite a rogue, once again, hardly breaking news for viewers, even at this early stage of the series.
Not much more to say on this one.

Well, I guess Q had to turn up on DS9 at some point.
I agree with James, the punch was the the highlight. And Vash... mmmmm!
But it just didn't w**k did it. A shame really, as John de Lancie was always excellent on TNG. But I guess the dynamic between Q and Sisko just wasn't there, and it would only have been a case of treading old ground anyway, if we'd seen more Q.
I quite liked the Q episodes on Voyager though, ironically enough.

I enjoyed Death Wish, but beyond that I thought JdL was pretty wasted there as well :(

That was the hi-light for me too, maybe they should have had Q involved later in the series.

Possibly, although not the later seasons. It got quite dark there, Q would have been well out of place

An okay ep but as everybody has said it didn't really w**k.
Felt a bit too much like Q was in it just to try and make it Star Trek and pull in TNG viewers.

When TNG first started there were precious little references to TOS. McCoy in Encounter at Farpoint, The Naked Now being a remake of The Naked Time (is that right?) . Seem sthat they wanted to make it on their own.
DS9 on the other hand, seems intent on reminding us that it's Star Trek at every opportunity. Picard, the Duras sisters, now Q and Vash. C'mon guys.
Rant over. For me, Q only worked in TNG. This doesn't w**k at all. Not one of my favourite eps

I pretty much agree with Tony. It seems a mistake to me to have been bringing so many characters over from TNG at this stage, as it diverts attention away from the main characters. And, apart from some witty exchanges with Vash (echo the  ), Q is undoubtedly wasted here, plus the story is a little obvious.
Shame, but I've seen far, far worse.

What exactly is the point of having a character in an episode, in fact naming the ep for that character, in which said character is completely superfluace to requirements.
The main station-in-danger plot had nothing at all to do with him and he was at best a minor annoyance to Vash and Bashir.

Maybe the title Q Less was more appropriate than everyone initially thought
