Title: Buffy Body Double?
Description: Angel season 5
buffy_fan1 - March 15, 2005 01:11 PM (GMT)
I was wondering who played Buffy in Angel season as there were a couple episode e.g. The Girl in Question when they needed a shot of Buffy but of course Sarah didn't feature in season 5 the so the shot was always taken with the figure of Buffy with her back to camera. Was it one of Sarah's body doubles from Buffy or was this some other actress's big break?

I think it could have just been any actress with blonde hair! It didn't look at all like her. I could be wrong, it might have been one of her doubles, but I doubt it. :)

it was a really cack choice whoever it was, she had the wrong hair and buffy would never dance like that!!
:shit:

I think they picked a random blonde of the street because it wasn't convincing :innocent:

i was gutted, although i knew deep down it wouldnt REALLY be buffy, they could at least have made it a realistic glimpse
anti-climax and exclamations of 'whatever'

Definite anti climax.
Especially as I was expecting Dawn.

they could have at least have SMG make a few sentences in place of using "the proms" quote

I think SMG could have at least been approached to be in Soul Purpose and The Girl In Question.
Or maybe she was.
I know Michelle Trachtenberg was approached to be Dawn once more but she was too busy filming something, probably Ice Princess or Eurotrip.

i think for one of the episode at least, she was too busy filming the grudge
buffy_fan1 - March 15, 2005 07:44 PM (GMT)
SMG said in an interview in the Buffy magazine (can't rember which one ) that she was asked to be in season 5 but was busy filming else where and couldn't fit it in. She said she was dissappointed but then she added that she didn't to over shadow the final season of Angel make of that what you will.

Didn't she have family problems as well that she never wanted to discuss

i think it was joss who didn't want to have buffy in angel finale

Yeah but he was probably just talking about the actual finale, which is a good point cos bringing her back for the last episode would invalidate the whole point of AtS as seperate. It would have been nice for SMG to appear in A Girl in Question, the whole not seeing Buffy in the episode was comic in a way because Spike and Angel didn't get to see her, but it just seemed a bit lame since it was obvious that it was just because it wasn't SMG.

still the car/scooter race was funny
buffy_fan1 - March 19, 2005 02:36 PM (GMT)
Now that you mention it I think Sarah did have family problem at the time which is fair enough everyone's entitled to some privacy
The car/scooter was very funny was it just me or did the set which meant to be Rome look rather false or maybe that was just because I knew they weren't really in Rome if you get my meaning

The limitations of having to recreate Rome at the Universal back lot only add to this show's charm, giving it the delightful air of a cheap and cheerful episode of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. The car chase isn’t exactly The Italian Job either, but is equally endearing.

From what i remember SMG was asked to be in The Girl In Question, but was still filming the Grudge at this stage. She was free for Not Fade Away, but she wasn't wanted in the last ep, which is fair enough, the show was about Angel moving on from Buffy so having her in the final ep for the apocalypse probably wasn't the best idea. The replacement for SMG in TGIQ was very poor imo, Buffy's hair would never have looked like that, her hair was not that straight or as bright a blonde. TGIQ would have been one of the best eps of the season if they SMG had appeared, without her many people accused this of being the worst ep ever, however i enjoyed it, it was still funny watching Angel and Spike arguing and going after that head thing.
Ems :)

To be honest, I wouldn't have wanted SMG in any episodes of Angel in season 5. I liked Angel being a separate show and being given a chance to stand on its own. I know that if it weren't for Buffy, then there wouldn't be any Angel, but I don't think it was necessary to keep reminding people of that. Having Buffy in an episode would have been pointless as they never would have resolved the Buffy/Angel/Spike triangle anyway.

spike love to push angel but he know buffy doesn't love him like she love angel (or was he in denial in season five?) but i suppose a clear and definitive resolution of the triangle would have upset shipper of one couple so maybe it was a good thing to not ending the story but that was kinda ridiculous (even if there were a few good scenes)

I was going to say exactly the same thing - I think if SMG had been in these eps then it would have ruined it.
Her apperances in S1 were justified tho, as Angel had only recently left so they still had "issues"

I think that would have been the point of having SMG in three episodes before then end. She wouldn't yhave been in the actual finale, but would have still made a much desired cameo.

Not desired by me. I hated Buffy so much in the episodes she was in Angel in season 1. She acted like such a bitch and it made me really dislike her character. I'm glad she wasn't in much of Angel at all, I wouldn't have it any other way :)
