Title: The Stars
Childhood Trauma - March 11, 2005 09:47 AM (GMT)
Sorry if there is another post about this, but I was just wondering what the stars under the senior members thing means?
LoobiLou - March 11, 2005 10:21 AM (GMT)
It doesn't mean anything at the moment, most boards have a reward system where the more posts you make, the more stars you get. Ours are just 5 stars regardless for now, but I’ll set up a system where it’s something like 50 posts = 1 star. 500 posts = 2 Stars and so on :)
Mods are always 5 Blue, and Admin red :)

It's just my opinion but I think two stars for 500 posters seems very high. I think three stars is more appropriate for that many posts.

Hopefully it would encourage people to be more active :D

We have some members with very high post counts and they need to be rewarded, people would appreciate them more ;)

I'm just happy that my stars are blue :)

Well I would feel disappointed to have only two stars after nearly 600 posts which is no small feat imo. Obviously there are posters who post tons more than I do but I think there needs to be graduated steps. Perhaps you could have and one star for 50 posts, two stars for 200 posts, three stars for 500 posts, four stars if you get 2000 posts and five stars for over 5000 posts.

Does it really matter? I've never really been that fussed about the amount of stars I've had. It makes no difference to me.

I've never really been that fussed about the number of stars either tbh, I don't post just to get my post count/stars up.

here here
you could just have put one star of different color to show who was member, host and mods and that would have been enough. imo
Laura - March 11, 2005 06:39 PM (GMT)
There are already different coloured stars.
Yellow = members
Purple = mods
Red = admin

I don't suppose it really matters that much, although it could be 5 posts=1 star and so on, cos if you started at 50 posts=1 star, you would need 500,000 posts for 5 stars! :blink:

:devil: I think only mods and admin should have stars :lol: :lol: ;)

LOL!! It was only a suggestion :innocent:
star_fury - March 15, 2005 01:56 PM (GMT)
I don't care as long as I haven't got 2 stars or less although I don't mind if administrators are the only ones with stars & everyone else has none :ph43r:
