Title: Brooklyn South

As I was watching NYPD the other night I started thinking about this other Bochco show. It starred John Tenney, Yancy Butler and Gary Basarabia (who went on to appear in the equally criminally ill-fated Boomtown).

It was initially shown on Sky One, but disappeared after only a handful of episodes, and then appeared late on Friday night on BBC2, who proceeded to show the entire series.

It was excellent and yet another series that was killed off before its time. The latter stages of the season, in particular, were riveting.

And it had an actor with one of the best names ever - Titus Welliver. I wish I had a name like Titus Welliver. If I had a name like Titus Welliver I could conquer the world

I remember it mostly from Sky One, they showed a lot of trailers for it before it aired.

It's available on Region 1, one I've intended picking up for some time now, along with Homicide Life on the Street.

Besides Hill Street and NYPD Blue, Bochco's not had a great deal of luck

I've read some bad things about the dvd release - bad picture/sound quality. For a fairly recent show it would appear that they haven't put much effort into it. Fair enough, I suppose, but when Firefly got such great treatment you kind of want them to give every show the same respect.

Having said that, though, I am now on the verge of ordering it :D

It'll be a while yet before I get it. Too much to get already :(

If you do, let us know what the quality's like. Sad to hear they didn't put their best effort into it. The Firefly release would appear to be one of Joss' labour of loves :) A shame everyone doesn't take the same pride in their work :)
