Title: Ds9 On Sky One Again

jamiearmour - March 7, 2005 05:49 PM (GMT)
They pretty much snuck it in under the radar, but I caught Emissary part one on Sky 1 today at 4 o'clock. It seems they are starting a complete series re-run in that timeslot

It's about time IMO. But that could just be me talking.

P.S. Set your video each day Ken, this is the opportunity I've been waiting for to force you to watch and enjoy DS9 :whistling:

Crichton Kicks - March 7, 2005 05:58 PM (GMT)
I'm glad to say that I'm free of the schedules as far as DS9 is concerned. Got them all lined up on the ol' DVD shelf

Typical. I start on the box set collection and they start showing it. :(

Think I'll carry on with the collection. I really can't be @rsed to worry bout recording something every day, never mind losing them

star_fury - March 8, 2005 02:37 PM (GMT)
I'll join in when season 3/4 airs

Definitely - in fact after having finished the DS9 relaunch books, and reading a few old novels I found again I was considering mooting a rewatch as well :)

Good man

I've set up a new DS9 Rewatch forum for you, all's you need to is timetable the rewatch and start off the episode threads ;)

laughitupfuzzball - March 8, 2005 05:48 PM (GMT)
 Excellent, I did manage to catch it today, first time I have watched tv for ages

Thanks James :)

For those taking part any preference for number of eps per week - I was thinking 3 to start with and amend if necessary

Crichton Kicks - March 9, 2005 11:32 PM (GMT)

2 or 3 is fine with me :) Although if some people are watching it with Sky, are we likely to need to go up to 5 a week?

Hmmm.

Personally I'm fine with doing 5 eps but then I have no life ;)

I'd guess Sky would do a break between each series which would allow us to catch up

I wouldn't be too sure about that Dave, can't think that they ever have in the past

I don't really see any great alternative to doing 5 eps per week. For those with Sky who're joining in, it's the only viable way of doing it.

The only thing we could do is see how many people are going to be reliant on the Sky broadcasts.

Fair enough - if I start out with 5 a week then and see how things go. I'll kick off with Emissary on Monday or possibly Sunday :)

Given that the Sky One showings are on already (they should be on A Man Alone today), should we just get this weeks stuff up now for the Sky people, and then let everyone else catch up retrospectively? :)

I was hoping no one would mention that :whistling:

I'll try and put 'em up tonight then and those of us with the DVD's ( :snooty: ) can catch up :)

You might want to use the DS9 TVTOME page (here) to provide the episode synopses Dave ;)

Apparently James Earl Jones tried for the part of Sisko

NOTE: Among those trying to get the role of Ben Sisko included James Earl Jones, Eriq La Salle, Tony Todd and Gary Graham.

If I'm not mistaken, Eriq La Salle was from ER, Tony Todd was often Worf's brother Kurn, and Gary Graham plays Ambassador Sorval on Enterprise.

Can't really imagine anyone else playing Sisko, Brooks was brilliant IMO.

Another interesting one;

QUOTE
The role of the Bajoran second-in-command was originally designed for Michelle Forbes' TNG character, Ro Laren. However when Michelle turned it down, not wanting to commit to a six-year contract, Nana Visitor was approached to play the reworked character of Kira Nerys.

I've heard that one before, but I have to say, I'd still have preferred Ro to Kira

Hippy - March 10, 2005 08:19 PM (GMT)
Kira had her moments (Mirror Universe/Ezri  )

P.S 1st 5 eps up in rewatch bit now. I'm going by the order in the Boxsets in case these differ from Sky.

Feel free to offer any comments or suggestions as neccessary :)
