Title: Episode 4x09
Description: A Man of his Word

Michelle - March 3, 2005 11:10 PM (GMT)
Before I start, can I just say YAY, LAUREN IS DEFINITELY DEAD!!  ;)

Ahem.. Well, it didn't rock quite as much as last week's, but still good. So Nadia survives, what a surprise. ;) But good news, nonetheless. I liked the ruthlessness of Jack in bringing her round from her coma early. And what's this pact him and Sloane have? T'is very interesting. Is it: "I won't kill your daughter if you won't kill mine?" ;)

I'm loving those fights between Anna & Syd. Hope she escapes so they can go again. ;)

:lmao: at Syd having to snog Sark. And yay, Sark is free to cause lots of damage!

All the bloody bots are broken on mirc so I can't download. Grhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Persephone - March 7, 2005 11:02 AM (GMT)
Mich, I'm getting the same vibe with the 'pact' :) and absolutely delicious to see Jack being a bit naughty bringing Nadia out of the coma early.

mmmh, very well preserved body wouldn't you say. How long as Lauren been dead for, and no real sign of decay  But yay Lauren's really dead

Great to see another ep with Anna (I've counted four cult programmes now with Gina Torres, I've just been watching her in 24   ) and yeah absolutely loving Syd and Anna fighting.

Sark ruled this ep, and LMAO @ the snog.

Lucky Jen, gets to smooch all the yummies

Psycho Jack - March 7, 2005 02:11 PM (GMT)
Found a w**king Bot.... 59% and counting.

Anna was probably the best thing about the episode, again. Gina Torres is currently being out-acted by Jewel Staite over on my Firefly watch, so it’s good to see her get her groove back slightly. I still fully believe that she gave her best performance over on Angel, but that’s another matter for another time.

Anyway – very surprised that Melissa George came back for her tiny role. I wonder if she was credited at the end. My encodes never have the end . . . . anyone happen to know? The whole sequence was very well worked though. I was certain it was going to be a Buffy in S5 Angel moment, but I was genuinely surprised to see her lying there. It kinda suggests to me that there must be something else to do with her coming up. She must’ve been promised something at a later stage to take the part. Actually, to be totally honest, at first I was expecting the coffin to be empty....

Not much more to say really. It’s good to know Sark’s out. I know David Anders will be has been moonlighting on CSI this season, in fact he was in a ep two weeks ago sporting a very dodgy tan with an American accent in tow, but it’s almost certain he’ll be back later in the season.

All of which leaves me asking one question… where now? :ermm:

Hmm…

Laura - March 25, 2005 10:12 PM (GMT)
David Anders isn't in the titles this season, he keeps getting a "special guest star" credit :ermm:. I want more Sark, he rocks
Loved the Syd/Sark snog - betcha Vaughn wants to kill him now . It looks like Sark really did have feelings for Lauren - is that the first time we see him show emotion? - Vaughn better watch out.
I'm also excited about this pact, there have been hints dropped about Sloane and Jack being up to something and I can't wait to find out what it is.
You've gotta love Weiss doing more of his magic tricks, c'mon writers get Weiss and Nadia together (as long as she doesn't turn out to be evil and/or break Weiss' heart :shifty:).

Great episode (not quite as good as the last one though). Great Anna/Syd fight scenes. And wooo Sark was A man of his word. Does anyone else want Sark to be trusted and become part of the APO team? Probably just me ;)

So Nadia didn't die. Maybe I'm really mean, but I was kind of hoping she would have, she doesn't seem that great a character. It's nice for Weiss to have a love interest, but I don't like what she brings out in the rest of the characters.

Please say that DA is staying for the rest of the season? *fingers crossed*

He hasn't been in it since this episode (up to ep 12 anyway) but he is listed as appearing in the finale
They need to get him back <_<

So that's definitely 3 sark-less episodes.. and maybe more :tear:

They probably want to leave the whole Syd-having-to-catch-Sark storyline behind since they have been doing it since DA first appeared but the show definetly picked up when Sark was on it. Bring him back :ph43r:

But it's a great story, that's why they were doing it so long. He's too good a character to not be used, and they could uhhh, find new ways for him to run away and Syd to run after him, so it doesn't get boring. Or he could be part of the team. :D It would be brill. And anyway, Sloane's proven himself to be evil loads of times and still been forgiven and offered a top job at the cia (), why can't Sark be? Him and Syd could get together :whistling:..... Ok, so I'll never be a script writer, but there has to be some way for him to come back, that makes sense.

They should bring him back and tie him to an arc (I'm getting fed up with the standalones).
I've never been a Sarkney shipper. Syd/Vaughn and even Syd/Weiss (at the start of S3) I can get but not Sarkney :ermm:, though it does seem to be a very big fandom.

I had no idea there was a big "Sarkney" fan base! Good to know it's not just me. I really wanted Syd/Weiss to happen at the start of season 3, but that never really went anywhere. I also liked Syd/Will, but not much happened with that either. But I hate Syd/Vaughn so much. So bloody dull! I'm not sure if I'd actually like to see Syd/Sark happen, I think it might be the type of thing where it's fun as an idea, but if they actually got together it wouldn't w**k.

Is there still no arc by episode 12? :ermm: I thought that Jack/Sloane pact thing might be something.

Laura - March 30, 2005 10:59 AM (GMT)
The fanart/fanfic that I've seen seems to be made up of a lot of Sarkney
Syd/Vaughn is a bit dull this year but I don't know if that is a conscious decision made by the writers because of the JG/MV break-up? :ermm:
Still no arc by ep 12

melian - May 23, 2005 11:51 AM (GMT)
I agree with what some of you have said above, this episode was not as fab as last weeks, but it was still pretty damn good

I hope the writers have had Sark escape so that he can crop back up later in the series ;) He really is an integral part of Alias to me. LOL at the snog he shared with Syd. And poor Vaughn having to watch it, especially after Sark rubbing it in about Lauren loving him and then making Vaughn open her coffin :x

little pixie - May 23, 2005 12:08 PM (GMT)
Is it just me or is anyone else fed up with JG`s fringe ??

I`ve been thinking that her acting hasn`t been as good as usual this year, then realised that 1/3 of her facial expressions are hidden by that fringe. <_<

Also, will someone please pay for some more lightbulbs on the set ? It`s been so dark and gloomy this year, it was great to have Syd and Vaughn outside in the ` Italian ` sunshine for once.

Great to see Sark back .

Flamingo - May 23, 2005 06:21 PM (GMT)
I totally agree about the lighting, I have to move my laptop screen every five mins to see the frickin picture ;)

Outta Sight - May 24, 2005 09:21 AM (GMT)
I'll second all the pro-Sark stuff, LOL  I was also surprised to see Lauren, I thought for sure the coffin would be empty or it'd be someone else in there

Bless the lovely Weiss  I want him to be happy but I'm not sure Nadia's the woman to do it  (That would be me :lmao: )

Fangy and grrr - May 24, 2005 02:54 PM (GMT)
Yeah I agree Sark was excellent. Loved him taunting Vaughn and I'm glad he's on the loose.

A little disappointed Nadia survived as I'd of loved to have seen Sloane on the rampage and it might of forced Sloane and Syd to w**k together in a more believable way. Vey intrigued by this pact between Sloane and Jack.

And so Lauren is dead and there's to be no evil Francie style return from the grave.

willowroolz - May 31, 2005 07:55 AM (GMT)
I really enjoyed this one. Loved Sark's demands (Vartan's constipated look actually worked wonders for that scene  :ph43r: ), and the Jack/Sloane situation is getting interesting.

Not sure about Syd shooting at Anna in a crowded stairwell, though - just as well she was such a bad shot

Anyone else notice the bad sound synchronisation on Bravo for the last couple of eps? :ermm:
