Title: Book Club. Who Wants In?

jamiearmour - March 3, 2005 08:42 AM (GMT)
There seems to be some interest in the book club idea I put out last week, so I just want to get a rough idea of numbers, if you wanted to join, just let me know, we'll w**k out rules and so forth shortly.

goth willow fan - March 3, 2005 08:59 AM (GMT)
Provisionally yes.

Though I can be quite a slow reader.

LoobiLou - March 3, 2005 09:03 AM (GMT)
I'm in so long as it's not a book that'll be hard to get hold of :)

I read pretty fast so should be able to keep up...but i have to admit i don't read many 'grown up, intellectual' type books that lots of you seem to go on about

Outta Sight - March 3, 2005 09:05 AM (GMT)
Ditto. I'm in as long as I can get hold of the book in question :D

laughitupfuzzball - March 3, 2005 09:32 AM (GMT)
:) can I be a possibly maybe

Michelle - March 3, 2005 09:33 AM (GMT)
I'm in too. :) Not that I have time to read anything other than what I've currently got going, but never mind.

Persephone - March 3, 2005 09:35 AM (GMT)
I'm not sure. I tend to stick to the horror genre. I'll keep an eye on what you're reading, and if it seems interesting then I'll join in

willowroolz - March 3, 2005 09:43 AM (GMT)
Same as Lisa. I've got a queue of things to read at the moment

obnoxious brat - March 3, 2005 10:32 AM (GMT)
I'm in...I have to read insane amounts of books and articles per week so I need a vaguely legitimate distraction!

kicking it old school - March 3, 2005 01:51 PM (GMT)
I'm in, I read very slowly though!

Margot C - March 3, 2005 02:01 PM (GMT)
I'm in, as long as we vary the genres. I'll read anything, but I think it'll get boring if it's always the same genre. Also, I'm insanely busy at the moment (notice that doesn't stop me finding time to post ;) ), so I could be quite slow at reading.

TV Crazy - March 3, 2005 05:40 PM (GMT)
I'm interested, i probably wont have time to discuss and read all the books, but if i can get hold of one that you're reading, i'll try to join in every so often if thats ok.

Ems :)

Cardelia - March 3, 2005 05:59 PM (GMT)
I'm in. Can't guarantee I'll get every book but I'll do my best.

The Do That Girl - March 3, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
I am interested- can't promise to do every book but it is about time I read something that wasn't on a computer screen :)

prophecy girl - March 3, 2005 08:00 PM (GMT)
sure why not? just don't start with the hard one

Xander: After classes I'll come back and help you research.

Cordelia: (pats him as she walks out) Yeah, you might find something
useful if it's in an 'I Can Read' book.

Phillip Culley - March 3, 2005 10:33 PM (GMT)
Put me down as interested; however I can't guarantee taking part with every book :)

melian - March 4, 2005 11:24 AM (GMT)
I'm in

"I am my thoughts" - March 4, 2005 11:25 AM (GMT)
I'll join in when i'm not too busy with w**k <_<

NJS - March 4, 2005 07:32 PM (GMT)
I'm game but I reserve the right not to have to read so called classic literary sh*te.

(Yes I know I'm a reverse snob but I was tortured with Oliver Twist for English 'O' level and I refuse to go there again)

Margot C - March 4, 2005 07:44 PM (GMT)
LOL@Neil

I sympathise though. I was given Great Expectations once for Christmas and felt obliged to read it

melian - March 7, 2005 04:44 PM (GMT)
How about a Dean Koontz book such as Strangers or Watchers or Phantoms or something?

Many of us already read his books and I know a few people have said they love his old stuff.......what do you lot think?

jamiearmour - March 7, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
I haven't read Koontz in ages. That could be a very interesting trip down memory lane for me.

OK Melian, pick one and that'll be our first book club book.

melian - March 7, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
Ok then. What an honour

Thank you jamie

I pick............Watchers ;)
