Title: Most Over-rated Song
obnoxious brat - February 28, 2005 09:41 PM (GMT)
What's the one song that you think is so incredibly over-rated?
Mine would have to be Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
NJS - February 28, 2005 09:46 PM (GMT)
Angels by Elton Jo.. sorry I mean Robbie Williams.
Margot C - February 28, 2005 09:50 PM (GMT)
Erm...I hate Guns N Roses, so anything by them

:o I'm listening to their Greatest Hits right now <_<
Most over rated song, any current top 20 or 40 or whatever the number is will do, or anything by The Beatles :)
Cullsoft - February 28, 2005 10:07 PM (GMT)
Any song popular opinion chooses to rate as the current "greatest song ever", as it'll undoubtedly mean that it gets far too much airplay and playback in the media, thus grossly reducing what quality it may have had before.
That and DJ Sammy's vomit-spewing cover of The Boys Of Summer. :)

I almost chose that, Lisa, but in the end my intense hatred of G'N'R won out :)

LMAO, I was debating whether to post "Anything by The Beatles" as I wasn't sure whether I'd get by head bitten off :lmao:

Agreed. The Don Henley version is far; far superior. I do like the girl in the video though
Margot C - February 28, 2005 10:31 PM (GMT)
I like The Ataris' version

laughitupfuzzball - February 28, 2005 10:37 PM (GMT)

Robbi William's Angels or Elton John's Candle in the Wind :fear:
Bohemian Rhapsody definitely, never liked Meatloaf either Bat out of Hell gets on my nerves

Elton John - 'Candle in the wind'
And as for not liking the Beatles! You people must be as mad as a bicycle

Ah but how mad are bicycles? Maybe it depends who you belong to? I'd be mad if I was Borris Johnson's bike... :fear:
I can understand most of thse choices except The Beatles and Guns N Roses. : : :

I got the phrase 'Mad as a bicycle' from the last episode of 'Blackadder goes forth'. From this the answer to your question would seem to be that a bicycle is as mad as a army captain with a pair of pants on his head and a pencil up each nostril, talking about a sausage factory in Tanzania!

Ah, but you must agree that he needs to be castrated slowly and painfully for what he did to The Boys Of Summer. Plus the same does go for his cover of Bryan Adams's Heaven... sad thing is, if it wasn't for either of the Sammy versions being played so ridiculously often, it'd be one of those Bryan Adams tunes I'd quite enjoy. :(

I know I'll probably get shot for saying so, but I find most of the stuff by Coldplay a bit overated. They're songs are nice enough, good for easy listening, but I find them really dull.

I couldn't agree more. I was having an argument with a friend about The Streets, and he was trying to argue that they're really good because they're doing something new and original. So I said, "just because something's original doesn't mean it's good", to which he replied "yes it does". Don't think I had the slightest chance of winning that argument! Insane troll logic
