Title: The Ancients
Description: The creators of the startgate

Hey, I'm new here.
Just to say, I haven't been watching Stargate as religiously as I used to, but I was wondering if the SGC learned any new information on the Ancients, since there are a lot of episodes on the SciFi channel that I haven't seen.

I mean the Asgard spoke of them briefly in an old episode, but I haven't heard of any other info other than that about the creators of the Stargate.

And if they didn't, do you think maybe Stargate Atlantis will reveal anything other information the Ancients? Perhaps even find them, if they still exist?

Oh, boy :D

One of the main ongoing plots of Season 7 has been the hunt for the 'Lost City' of the Ancients.

However, since I've not got the DVD's just yet, I myself haven't seen the end of Season 7 (which involves the Lost City, the Ancients and the set-up for Atlantis).

If anything, I'm there's a certain someone here who'll be able to post in a lot more details :)

Oh, and welcome to the board - it's always nice to see new people joining our small community! :D

As Phillip's mentioned the 2 part season 7 finale THE LOST CITY culminates a season-long arc of the SGC searching for the lost city of the ancients. Whilst they don't find it perse, they do find a buried Ancient outpost on Earth under the polar ice cap in Antarctica. This ties in with the new series Atlantis where they do indeed find the lost city of Atlantis/Ancients. This provides the whole back drop for the new series.

A much more interesting question however is whatever happened to the Furlings, and are they still around. Information revealed from Brad Wright from time to time would tend to suggest that not only are they still about but that we may actually have seen them at some point :o

That's awesome.
That's right. I forgot about the Furlings. But when I was still avidly watching the show, the name was only uttered once.

What about the other race, beside the Asgard, the Ancients, and the Furlings? The race SG1 met with the floating city and saw the human race as young, and after SG1 went home, they buried the gate. Anything else about them?

Can't... remember... name of race....
ARGH! My memory is totally gone!!

The Nox :)

They've reappeared from time to time, but nothing major. There was the Tollan as well, oh dear :(

The Nox. That's it.
Why was I thinking of the Ushnoq (don't know if that's how you spell it)?
A species only mentioned once (and never shown) on a very cool ep of Star Trek NG.

Can't remember how you spell it (husnakh ??), but I know who you're on about. The one with the old couple down on the planet. Good episode, if only for Worf's little one liners;

"nice tea....." :)

"... good house."

Season 3 was where TNG really took off.

Some great episodes. I really liked WHO WATCHES THE WATCHERS as well with Ray Wise.

That episode sounds so familiar, but maybe we should continue this in a Star Trek thread.
