February 25, 2005 - Variety announced this week that Erik Jendresen (Band of Brothers) has been hired to write the screenplay for Star Trek XI, the on-again / off-again next installment in the most successful franchise in entertainment history. Berman has been w**king on development of the film with Jordan Kerner (Inspector Gadget) and Kerry McCluggage (Miami Vice television series) even though reports out of the studio had the project being shelved in January.
Rumored to center around the Romulan war, which took place prior to the original series, the film currently doesn't even have a tentative release date on Paramount's schedule. Considering that this film is coming from the man who called the last film in the series, Star Trek: Nemesis, a "wonderful movie", no one is exactly anticipating the next Trek project with that special Rick Berman touch to it. |
Taken from
IGN FilmforceGood news for Ken. Personally, I have very little interest in the Romulan war.
I'll say this for Berman. He doesn't give up easily.
That special Berman touch; That would be the touch of failure, then.
Berman should take the hint. F*ck off
Even the most hardcore of Trek fandom has had enough of him, and his anti-Midas touch has taken the genre's greatest franchise, and trashed it :(

I think even Ken admits that the franchise would be better off without Berman and Boy Blunder. :)
Angel was the name I carried for 7 of the 8 years I was at the Beeb boards. Felt like a change, nice timing, so I retired Angel along with the Beeb board.
