Title: Alias 4x08
Description: Echoes
Michelle - February 26, 2005 12:45 AM (GMT)
Yay, it's back!!
Loved the re-emergence of Anna and Sark. When I inadvertantly read who was in it this week on the TWOP review, I was getting the name mixed up with the Alison/Francie person. And I was thinking, not again, I'm sure she died last time.  Actually, I'm not totally positive about that still. ;)
Loved the fight in the clothes store - "She can have the blouse" :lmao:
The return of Rambaldi, and the beginning of an arc. T'is all good. :)
And Nadia!! :o I'm sure she won't die this early on...will she?
Persephone - February 26, 2005 10:56 PM (GMT)
yay, not long finished watching it
Great to see Anna again, and double yay for the return of Sark.
I'm not sure how this will build, I can see some kind of showdown happening between the Bristows and Sloanes. The sister against sister looks inevitable :(
awhhh bless to Weiss and Nadia falling for each other, and LMAO at the boat conversation between Vaughan and Weiss
Loved the 'She can have the blouse' line
I'm also pleased with the return of the Rambaldi story and the Covenant
I think you're right M, definite arc brewing
Believe me, so hard not to trawl around the net to find out what happens to Nadia, but I've managed to resist
Laura - March 25, 2005 07:19 PM (GMT)
A much better episode than the previous one.
 @ Vaughn. "You built many ships, in many bottles over many months". But Syd and Vaughn - let Weiss and Nadia be happy, they aren't you <_<
The return of Rambaldi, I was begining to think they had forgotten about him
Sydney starts a fight with Anna in the middle of a store! That seemed like a stupid move to me. But  @ "she can have the blouse"
Sark . "The last of my broken bones have healed", that would have been Vaughn then . Sark loved Lauren (and Vaughn killed her), he loved Alison (and Syd and Will killed her), sense a pattern?. And letting Sark out of prison, bad idea - you just know he's going to get away like he always does. And of course he outsmarts them "for the bubbly"
Sloane is meant to be kept out of the Anna missions, why does Jack tell him stuff anyway?
Poor Nadia, but Syd should perhaps get some help!
kicking it old school - March 29, 2005 09:57 PM (GMT)
Yay! This episode ruled  What a relief, I was beginning to doubt Alias . At the beginning of the episode when they were talking about the return of someone Sloane used to w**k with I thought for sure it would be Sark, so when they said Anna Espinosa I was really disappointed. But then the opening credits ran and I saw "special guest star David Anders" and leapt out of my chair in excitement :D. It's so fabulous to have Sark back. I really hope he stays now... he's turned the season around, for me. I've got to admit though, I was a tiny bit disappointed to hear all the Rambaldi stuff coming back. The whole Rambaldi thing was great, a very interesting storyline, but I thought they'd moved on from it. It was the main focus of the show for the first three seasons (pretty much) and it would be nice to have something fresh. It looks like they're taking it in a different direction though (with the sister killing thing) so it should be fine.
Sydney: She's supposed to be dead
Jack: So are a lot of people
A possible hint at the aliveness of Irina? Or am I being overly hopeful

Great episode this week. Much improved over last time, I think I actually stopped watching that at some point
Love the re-emergence of some old baddies, Anna and Sark. The oldies are always the best
OMG! What a cliffhanger ending with Nadia being shot :o I think it is the first time this season that I have actually been anticipating the next episode

` You mess with friends of Flinkman, you`re messing with Flinkman ` :lmao:
Interesting to see what the Rambaldi symbol represents... :o

Great episode
Couldn't believe it when Nadia got shot but why didn't Syd call for help straight away :ermm:
Yay to Anna and Sark
melian - May 16, 2005 12:23 PM (GMT)
I've really missed Sark this season so far. He is just so deliciously evil
Bill The Bloodless - May 16, 2005 12:45 PM (GMT)
Alias has been ok so far but can't the writers come up with anything new? First it's the return of Sloane in charge, just like SD6, then they contrived to get everyone in the same organisation and now Rambaldi rears his ugly head again. How long until Irina is resurrected or it's discovered that she wasn't actually killed?
And my God someone tell Vaughn a joke so he can get that miserable look off his face.
little pixie - May 16, 2005 01:47 PM (GMT)
Was this ep. shown out of sequence, too, like the previous ep. ?
It wasn`t that long ago that Vaughn was seen eating pizza and actually grinning . :o
I suppose it had to happen once in the 74 Episodes so far. :lmao:

I don't know about you but I love this whole 'back to basics' formula. It is great to see Syd and Co having to w**k under Sloane again, and it's nice to have the gang back together again too :D It was awful when Marshall and Weiss were still back at the CIA in the first few episodes :tear: I'm even glad to see the emerging ugly head of Rambaldi if it means we are finally going to get an arc going
I thought Vaughn seems happier this season than in any other

Liked Sark taunting Vaughn and then leading them on a wild goose chase and once again Marshall was very funny ' anyone wanna get chinese ? '.

Oh no, I don't want Nadia to die, not because I particularly love her character (although I do quite like her) but I'm loving the gentle relationship between her and Weiss and would like to see more of that :tear:
I'm also happy to see Sark again, such a great baddie  Although I don't really get the Anna thing as I think that was possibly season 2?? which I didn't see

Okay I've just caught up with Alias seeing the last three episodes this week and I was beginning to think that Rambaldi had been long forgotten! I have to say that after my initial joy and excitement after the first couple of episodes, that impetus hasn't continued. :( I'm highly surprised that alias has improved in the ratings and already picked up for a 5th season. Having watched eight episodes of this season and the dreadful third season I can't understand why people are tuning in.The First season was very good, the second was fantastic but now it just pales in comparison and yet it seems more popular than ever?
Anyway getting back to this episode I was extremely glad to see the return of Rambaldi... It was about time! Michael Vaughn was predictably terrible and somebody please shove some fibre in that man's diet. I thought that Anna Espinosa being brought back was a mistake and I sighed at her return in disappointment. The "so-called" fight sequence in the middle of the store was pathetic as usual (like most fight sequences post-season two of Alias).
The best thing I can say about this episode was certain Mr Sark who was reliably entertaining especially mocking the constipated one. Hopefully we will see more of Sark although I seriously don't expect him to appear in more than a handful of episodes between now and the finale. YAY for Sark :) YaY for the bubbly :) Yay for making Vaughn & co feel & look stupid raiding CWF(OR whatever) without intelligence to prove they're there!!!!
Don't worry Bill, Marshall wasn't funny in this episode and to be fair he hasn't really been a hit most of this season! I also agree with your thoughts about Irena Derevko since it's highly unlikely that she was actually killed.
On the subject of Gina Torres she hasn't done herself any favours being in the poor Matrix sequels and ruining season 4 Angel... I know she didn't personally ruin the season but her character Jasmine single-handedly destroyed all the good w**k previous to the last six - eight episodes of the season.
I have to admit not watching third season again before starting the 4th season but certain questions need to be answered. Is it me or did they not resolve the story lines about the covenant? Considering how important the covenant was to the third season you would have thought that they would have brought this up previous to this episode. What happened to Mckennis Cole( completely unsure of spelling) the guy played by Quentin Tarantino?
Could somebody tell me what happened to the missions in Alias? We used to see long detailed and exciting missions, and yet now we see short uninteresting missions. What the hell happened alias? Something tells me that J J Abrams is still taking a back seat.

How could they have flogged the Rambaldi story to death by now? There is so much we don't know about Rambaldi himself, about his predictions and his machines. I always thought Rambaldi was the core of the series and I'd much rather watch arc heavy Rambaldi story lines than the average stand-alone episodes we have seen so far this season, which generally don't push the story onwards.
I don't think Nadia is dead but like you I can't say I am really bothered either way either. To be fair she could be dead since her character hasn't been fleshed out all that much.

Personally I don't want to know any more about Rambaldi, his predictions and his machines ... I've had enough of it all. :toomuchtv: ;) The core of the show for me was Syd trying to bring down Sloane and SD6 and once that was over all you were left with in S3 was Rambaldi and perhaps thats why S3 was the least popular season so far and another reason why they felt the need to try and re-create the SD6 set-up in S4. In the first two season's, in small doses, I had no problem with Rambaldi as it worked well as the excuse for the missions but it just got more and more ridiculous and the machines and devices more and more unbelievable ( machines and devices btw that you never hear mentioned again ! ) until it began to get stupid and ruin the show for me. :(
I know they can't drop it completely but I'd really hoped for a Rambaldi-Light season so while I'd love an arc I really don't want it to be too Rambaldi-centric.
willowroolz - May 24, 2005 08:08 AM (GMT)
Finally got round to watching this and really enjoyed it. I was slightly miffed when Sloane kept sticking his nose in despite being ordered not to. I hope there's some ramifications about that :ermm:
