production report at StarTrek.com announces that Peter Weller will play a human leader opposed to a United Federation of Planets, a charismatic speaker with a fanatical devotion to the extremist Colonel Green, first seen in the original series' "The Savage Curtain." Weller, the star of RoboCop and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai, was familiar to Coto as the star of Coto's previous series Odyssey 5.
LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge), who helmed "The Augments" earlier this season, directed Coto's script, which has a follow-up episode called "Terra Prime" - a reference to the name of the group that opposes the creation of an interplanetary coalition which could include Earth, Vulcan, Andoria, Rigel and others seen over the course of this season. A mortally wounded woman greets T'Pol during an assembly at Starfleet Command with evidence of a secret that concerns her. |

Like most Trek 2-parters, this was a let down from the first episode. Still, it was a good one!
Several odd things came to mind though - such as is Hoshi really the most senior person on the ship under Archer, Trip, T'pol and Reed? Surely there must be some lieutenant on the ship (or of course whoever runs the nightshift on Enterprise - or are we supposed to believe the entire main cast are awake 24/7? :))
Also, I was a bit disappointed that the Terra Prime agent on Enterprise we had hinted all episode was a 'nameless' ensign who was only introduced (let alone revealed!) at the end of the episode - I would have much preferred it were the agent to be the replaement chief engineer - someone we had come to know and like over the past few episodes...
Still, there were good bits - I liked the fact they had the guts to kill the baby at the end rather than keep it (with the series ending they could easily have had Phlox save it and let Trip and T'Pol bring it up without us haveing to watch them). Also good that the Terra Prime guy didn't die a convert to the good of aliens, despite T'Pol's attempts to tell him that 'aliens are good - they saved your life' :)

Can't add much to what Phillip's already said. This was a much darker episode than usual Trek, excellently written by the Reeves-Stevenses, and much more realistic for it.
So, the end of an era next week.

Just watched both parts, and thoroughly enjoyed them both. With the Mirror universe episodes followed by these two, we've at least had a decent run in before Enterprise comes to an end.
I enjoyed it. The only cop out was the Terra Prime spy revealed to be.... <huge drumroll> someone we'd never seen before, of course! I was wondering at one point if it was going to be Hoshi, but that would have been silly.
Always enjoyable to see Harry Groener... I think it's the first time I've seen him since Buffy. A Trek veteran of course, after his appearance in TNG's 'Tin Man'. I thought Peter Weller was excellent too.
Shame the show is coming to an end. Let's hope the last one is a good one.

Perhaps the should have made Travis the spy. That would account for why he never actually did anything during the last four seasons. He was too busy making notes and reporting back. :ponder:

 Like it!
And it would have made some kind of sense in an odd way!
