Title: Alias S1

So Alias S1 was only £20 on Amazon and I couldn't resist . I've caught a couple of episodes on C4 but then w**k got in the way. I thought starting a new topic would be the best way to remain unspoiled - though I do know some spoilers like the end of S1 and what I think is the S2 finale or S3 premiere (Syd is missing for years and Vaughn has married?)
I've seen up to 1x03 atm and so far am really enjoying it. I like the action, I can see myself becoming a Sydney/Vaughn shipper , I like the characters and the arc style which it looks to be building and I also like the way they use music in the show too.

Yes, the use of music is brilliant. The scene in the first episode when she's walking through the airport always sticks in my mind (along with a certain scene in season 2    )

Yay, another Alias convert!
Hope you enjoy it, Laura. S1 is really, really great, especially if you're unspoiled. The ending wasn't the biggest shock of the season, anyway (at least, it wasn't for me...I guessed it) so you should still be able to enjoy it just as much.
And yay to you becoming a S/V shipper. Aww, they're so cute
And may I just say...the way you blanked out the end of S2 spoiler? Coolest thing ever. I'm dying to use that technique now!!

You can see the twist in Season 1 coming a mile off - but it's still a great moment!

I'm spoiled for the S1 finale, I managed to see it I think :ermm:. I've no idea how I managed to spoil myself for S2/S3 when I hadn't been watching it though
Syd and Vaughn, aww. 'cept I know that goes bad <- look Margot, I did it again
I watched 1x04-1x06 last night so some thoughts.
A Broken Heart: I liked Vaughn's reaction when Syd asked him if he had a fight with his wife "You thought I had a wife this whole time?!". I wondered if Syd was really checking to see how serious the relationship was since I would have thought that she would have noticed the lack of a ring. Sydney screaming for Dixon when they were on the 2nd floor of the market didn't seem very covert . Will's desk has moved since the pilot, it was at the window, it's now in the middle of the room. He's still digging into Danny's death which you just know is going to get him into trouble. I liked Sydney going to Vaughn when she was upset and the scene was very sweet.
Doppelganger: The previously on bits are excessively long on this show. Syd and Vaughn's debriefing was more relaxed than it has been before. I didn't buy him giving her Jack's CIA file, that must have been a breach of protocol surely , then she reads the file in public .
Reckoning: For some reason Sydney pissed me off in this episode, I think it's because I know she has it wrong and she is going around upsetting everyone in this episode. :lmao: @
Syd: "what is it"
Vaughn: "a bug"
Syd: "what are you, 12 years old". Well it amused me <_<
As soon as Syd started going on about her mother at the driving range I knew that one of Vaughn's parents must have died while w**king for the CIA. I liked the little boy at the funeral at the end as a reminder of 8 year old Vaughn, cheesy but nice. Also John Hannah  I've always liked the stuff he's done.

Glad to see another getting into Alias. There's no better time to do it with the dvds so cheap too!
The first season is (dare i say it) much more relaxed than the second season, which was emotionally exhausting. It puts Bond to shame.

more of a Sydney/Will fan myself

Talking of DVD's anybody have any idea when/if S3 will be out on R2 or should I get the R1 set already out?
"I am my thoughts" - February 19, 2005 02:31 PM (GMT)
It'll probably be out April/May like S2 was last year. Can't wait!

Five have a clause in their contract that the DVD can't be released until they finish airing it as the release of the DVD will take away many of the few viewers they have.

Wow this show is addictive. I'm now up to The Box pt2.
When Vaughn found out about the KGB codes in Sydney's mother's book and was intent on turning Jack in I just knew that his dad had been one of the CIA agents killed. I liked the hug in the Box pt1 when Sydney apologized for what her mother did. The annoying doctor from Nip/Tuck is grassing on Vaughn to the CIA about their 'inappropriate' relationship grr :(
In color blind, was it just me or did Vaughn seem to be asking about Syd's thanksgiving so that he could slip into the conversation that he had broken up with alice . Also :lmao: to the "are you romantically interested in anyone" question when he was preparing her for the lie detector test.
My flatmate has borrowed the first disk off me and is really enjoying it too, I think one of us will be buying S2 once we're done

Ah, The Box....that was the first episode I watched. Good times :)
Hehe, I love that lie detector scene

Vaughn really isn't trying to hide his feelings for Sydney at all . His face when Syd said she was taking Will to Sloane's house, aww. And he made it perfectly clear that he is interested in her- "It would be nice to look at you" speech at the sea.
I've now watched up to Q&A, guess they were running out of money since it was loads of clips from previous episodes.
The revelation that Sydney's mother wasn't a surprise since I've been spoiled for that. @ Will and Francie watching the car chase with popcorn with no idea that their best friend is in the car.
I've now convinced my other flatmate to give Alias a go too, just need my flatmate to finish with the first box
Laura - February 23, 2005 12:25 PM (GMT)
I've now finished S1
I'd forgotten about Vaughn being trapped at the end :o I know he gets out somehow but :tear: to Syd trying to break the glass.
Poor Will :( but he's so sweet and supportive when he is talking to Syd in the safehous.
Also poor Sloane, we know that he is evil but it's obvious that he loves his wife :(
"I am my thoughts" - February 23, 2005 12:34 PM (GMT)
Sloane is an interesting villain. He plans so many evil things, only to show a soft side when his beloved Emily's involved.
Laura - February 23, 2005 12:36 PM (GMT)
It was so sad when he sat down to tell her everything. I'm glad we didn't hear what he said, we didn't need to :(
