In search of information about the alien that attacked the Crichtons and killed DK, Scorpius takes the menfolk to one of his former mentors, an instructor in mental discipline and control. Control is the last thing on D'Argo's mind, however, when he discovers his most hated enemy in the class.
I was kind of dreading watching this one again. I remembered finding it really quite boring before. Anyway, I finally took the plunge and was pleasantly surprised :D
As before the D’Argo/Macton storyline made absolutely no sense to me. How did Macton know they were going to be there? How did he kill Katoya so easily? Why did he try to persuade Big D that Lo’Laan had killed herself because of his hyper rages? And just what was he planning to do to D’Argo to make his own sister try to kill him?
You have to feel sorry for John this episode though. Things seemed to be looking up right at the beginning as he and Aeryn snuggle up in Moya’s den
The poor guy is only going as there is a possibility of finding out information about the Skreeth who attacked his family on earth. Instead he gets to spend most of the episode locked up in a cage over hot coals!! His only way out is to get one of the keys that are dropped through the ceiling before it falls onto the coals and melts. Just how is this supposed to help him against the Scarrans? <_<
I have a few questions about John’s predicament.
Little Cat 1. Why doesn’t he try to catch the key before it falls into the coals?
Or, Little Cat 2. Why doesn’t he just take off his shirt and wrap his hands in it before digging the key out of the coals? Or better yet, tying it to the ceiling bars to catch the key as it falls through?
Or, Little Cat 3. What’s wrong with humidity?
All in all not a wonderful episode but much better than I remembered it, with Rygel taking on a Charrid and coming out the winner (though it nearly kills him), and D’Argo facing his worst fears but managing to retain his hard won control. And the goo on John’s hands at the end looked interesting ;)
