D'Argo and the crew rescue John, but not before he's made a most unfortunate ripple in the timestream. While Rygel discovers the joys of chocolate, everyone else tries to blend into the celebration of Halloween, and Crichton tries to save his father from a doomed spaceflight.
It seems that John has finally managed to get back to Earth. The only problem is he’s floating high above it in space. Luckily he can still contact Moya (how?) and gives D’Argo the co-ordinates to the next wormhole that will lead the rescue party to him. All’s well so far. Then the next snag. It seems John has made another tiny error in his calculations and has brought himself to Earth in his own past. And you know how well they did with the past last time don’t you!
Einstein had warned John that this could happen, and if it did and the timeline had changed, then he would have to try to nudge things back in the right direction. In this case that would mean stopping Jack, his dad, from going up in the Challenger. Frell <_<
When asked why it matters if his dad dies now in the grand scheme of things, John explains that it was his dad that fuelled his interest in avionics, leading to the Farscape project, which led to him being ‘shot through a wormhole’, which led to him helping them escape the Peacekeepers, which then led to everything else that had happened to them in the last 3 and a bit years. Got it?
This is a pretty silly episode story wise, but it is always entertaining and sometimes LOL funny as the gang hatch a wacked out plan to stop John's dad leaving, involving putting his younger self in danger (and Chi's tender hands ;) ), so his dad can come to the rescue. Throw in a nosy neighbour, an inquisitive cop, Grandma's home brews, and what you've got is a typical Farscape mess
There are some priceless moments here too, such as Aeryn watching the Muppets and learning her alphabet ( “S!! This girl is slow!”) :lmao: , or John talking to his mother, D’Argo trying to drive the cop car (“Machine. Go!”), finding out Braca has been w**king for Scorpy all this time (explains quite a lot really) :o , ‘Karen Shaw’, and finally, the last scene (“….was it a Bass or a Trout?”). Can that really be Jack?
