Venturing into Tormented Space, it doesn't take Moya's crew long to run afoul of the locals. It's no surprise when they're drawn into a tribal conflict, but for a change it's Aeryn who starts the trouble...by assassinating the leader-elect.

OK I know I am skipping a head but I have no intention of watching this one again.

I really really don't like it. Dreadful guest cast, all of them awful.

Best thing about this episode is the above priest Paroos who is excellent and the scenery, the burnt forest.

It ranks with I ET for me, intensely annoying.

I liked Aeryn's flash backs, Claudia great again but the storyline was weak, The Prefect and E'Alet are cringeworthy, as are Gashaah and Zerbat. How do Zerbat and Sikozu form such a close relationship in such a short time, not very well done.

E'Alet and his bugs are the worst and the final scenes with John and Aeryn fighting are just silly.

Worst episode of the season

Okay, I'm going to make myself unpopular (again)

Having just watched this again I have to say not the greatest episode by a long way, but I still like it.

I like the way the narrative structure is messed around during the first half, gradually showing us more and more of each conversation/scene until we get to the assassination, and then I like the way the truth is revealed during the more standard second half, even if the outcome isn't anywhere close to being a shock.

The episode looks fantastic and the direction, camera angles etc are very well done.

Paroos is an amazing creation, the level of detail is brilliant. I like his last scene with Chiana. E'Alet's bug creation routine is quite freaky in a horror movie kind of way, and I like the way Paroos deals with him in the end (handy having that buzz saw there just when he needed it  ).

The Sikozu/Zerbat relationship is highly contrived and entirely unbelievable, but the one major criticism I'd level at this episode is the way the John/Aeryn relationship starts to take over, leading to the stand-off between them at the end which should be tense and exciting but instead just feels limp and predictable.

The final scene with them at the graves of those she has killed is quite moving, though.

totally agreed

Didn't you think the guest cast were wooden too. The best was the puppet which says something don't you think. :)

Yeah, quite wooden. I don't think the script gave them a lot of depth to play with though.

I always think the start of this episode is delightfully confusing, mixing reality with visions. Even now, having seen it before, it's still hard to keep up

The massacre scene is very disturbing, the screaming, people running for their lives, the bolts of energy, all the bodies lying in the street. And then to see that the perpetrator is Aeryn :o OMG!!!!!

Another great scene is the one where Aeryn slowly begins to remember what she did, her face as the truth dawns upon her is just heartbreaking :tear:

I even like the standoff between Aeryn and John as they both try to fight the compulsion to kill one another, the warning shots, the looks in their eyes........... :(

I quite liked the whole idea of this episode, even if it does have more holes than an Edam ;)

Finally, who else thinks John must have had a death wish, calling D'Argo a sissy :lmao:

I remember not liking this episode very much first time round making me reluctant to watch it however I really enjoyed it this time round. Like Steve said this episode looks fantastic in every shot which makes up for a lot imo. I also particularly liked the confusing structure in the beginning of the episode, giving flashes of what is going to happen or might happen next then going back and filling in the blanks.

A prefect murder is hardly a classic episode but it is enjoyable nevertheless. :)
