Description: enf of alias?
prophecy girl - February 12, 2005 03:52 PM (GMT)
"In an interview with Breakingnews.ie to publicise the Elektra film, Garner says that she has a hankering to explore pastures new.
"I want a graduate degree, I want to be a business woman, an investment banker, a writer, a pianist. I really wish I could cook.
"I've never had specific goals in life. I don't say, 'I'd like my next step to be this', and then write it down and go after it."
so is there going to be only four seasons of alias or did the actors sign a five years contracts?

The actors have contracts up til 2008, but that doesn't necessarily mean Alias will carry on that long.
Did you find this info on IMDB? IMO I don't believe it, she's just begun her movie career. I suppose we all have days where we wish we could be doing something else, it doesn't have mean she's going to act on it.

it was in the BBC cult news

My guess would be that she's not talking about the immediate future ;)

Most American TV actors hanker to make it on the big screen. They find the TV series they're in that they once coveted a straitjacket. That's cuz they're committed to many months of the year to the series, allowing them only a few months to free-lancing, hopefully in a decent movie.
Garner has had the starring role in a few films and, I bet, has had her appetite whetted. The thought of another 3 (?) seasons must be depressing.
Alternatively, making noises like this could drive up her salary. Regardless of the existing contract, the producers will probably try to soothe the show's most important person (definitely, Jennifer, in this case) with piles of money (don't worry...they can afford it).

I can't see Alias lasting long though, there's only so much twists they can do.

maybe garner want to do more film but she should think about it more seriously because her last film (Elektra) was not that good

The problem with doing films while doing a tv series is that the actor can only pick from films being filmed while they are hiatus from the tv show. Take the example of Tom Selleck who had the turn down the first Indiana Jones role because it comflicted with MAGNUM PI.

i have a hard time imagining tom sellect as indiana jones

I reckon she's just trying to boost her salary nothing more, nothing less.
Mind you if season 4 isn't a huge improvement on the third season of Alias then I'll be surprised if it goes past season five.
