Title: Aaaaaargh. They Must Make More. Now
Description: Spoilers for the finale herein......
jamiearmour - January 24, 2005 10:42 PM (GMT)
Oh my God!!!!!
What a cliffhanger, holy crap.
Was it just me or did it feel like more happened tonight than in the last few episodes combined????
Starbuck kicking the crap out of No 6  (battle of the blondes)
A military coup :o
Baltar's "spiritual" journey reaching it's conclusion (maybe)
We finally find out why the Cylons remained on Caprica!!!
Sharon (glactica version) blowing up a basestar (very Independence day style) and then shooting Adama!!!!!!
They had better start on Season 2 right now or I'm going to explode.
Crichton Kicks - January 24, 2005 11:02 PM (GMT)
Sci-Fi have already commissioned six additional scripts for Season 2. They did that before the show aired stateside, based on the Sky One performance.
When the show did finally air in the States it got pretty good numbers, Sci-Fi's second highest ratings puller, behind Atlantis' premiere. Given that comparing the Sci-Fi Channel with UPN would be like comparing our Sci-Fi Channel with BBC1, it was quite a feat that BSG got more viewers than Enterprise

Monday nights aren't going to be the same :(
Roll on season two.
melian - January 25, 2005 04:20 PM (GMT)
My house mate came home and talked through the last 20 minutes of it :guns:
Number Six - January 25, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
And is your house mate still alive? :)
Crichton Kicks - January 25, 2005 05:32 PM (GMT)
The signs are encouraging. The numbers this last Friday were still quite strong, and it kicked Enterprise's backside again
jamiearmour - January 25, 2005 06:13 PM (GMT)
I don't care about the American viewing figures. I just want them to show new episodes!
What? Am I supposed to care that they haven't filmed them yet? That's their problem not mine :whistling:

It's the downside of getting the episodes first, too long to wait until the next batch :(

OMIGOD OMIGOD OMIGOD OMIGOD OMIGOD
How good was that, f*ck me that was brilliant, can't believe she shot him, I just couldn't believe it; seriously :o :o :o
now that's tv
Crichton Kicks - January 25, 2005 10:01 PM (GMT)
I think that's probably the best hour of television I've seen in a good few years.
So many different threads ending on huge cliffhangers.
F*cking brilliant

Spot on, James!
Couldn't quite believe what I'd seen... outstanding!
Take care,

Yeah. She has many other less annoying qualities :shifty:
But it was a close call ;)
Number Six - January 26, 2005 12:54 PM (GMT)
T'was no good. Just had to sit down and watch it again last night. Too much happening to fully comprehend in one go.
That has to be the best opening season of anything I've ever seen.

Can't argue with that Tony.
I was just thinking earlier today that this episode seriously needs a second viewing to take it all in !!
Bakhesh - January 27, 2005 09:40 AM (GMT)
Just saw this last night. Truly excellent. There was almost too much going on to keep up with. My jaw hit the floor when Boomer shot Adama. It was so unexpected.
Must agree with Number 6; The best opening season of any show ever!!!!
Hovis - January 27, 2005 09:41 AM (GMT)
I had a rewatch this morning, while I was munching on my toast. Even though I've only just watched it first time round, it seems just as fresh and shocking second time around!
So many cliffhangers... will be pulling my hair out waiting for season 2. As Number Six says, it has to be one of the best Season One's of any show I've seen. It really put Trek in it's place, and makes all those excuses many of us made about allowing Enterprise 2 or 3 seasons to bed in seem rather shallow. Ho hum!
Take care,
Andrew (HM) :upside:

Explosive finale, makes all the slightly slower eps worth it.
I can't believe Boomer either, it was so unexpected, my jaw, literally hit the floor :o

Ouch :fear: You should see a doctor about that
Seriously, I've heard all about the scripts being commisioned, but when are they going to start filming???
Will the Americans let us get S2 first?
Will I be able to contain myself and avoid any spoilers that may pop up?
All these questions and more must be answered....
Persephone - January 27, 2005 12:54 PM (GMT)
s'okay, no biggie, just a little bruised
No idea to the rest

That's been one of the beauties of BSG for me, Jamie... being totally spoiler-free!
I'd love it if we got S2 ahead of the US (am I counting my chickens, assuming there willbe a S2?) as don't want to have any prior knowledge at all of what's going on, and just get blown away as much as I have on S1!
Take care,
Andrew :upside:

They're expecting a swift decision on renewal. The proposed date I heard for the possibility of shooting commencing on a second season was March.
With regards to us getting it before the Americans do, depends whether Sky are willing to pump money into it again, but from what I hear Sky are extremely pleased with the first season.
jamiearmour - January 27, 2005 09:12 PM (GMT)
Ok! They can film it in March, do post in April, post it to me by the beginning of May at the latest. I can live with that :whistling:
Hey if they do, I'll share it with you guys. Honest :innocent:
Crichton Kicks - January 27, 2005 10:15 PM (GMT)
I'm not greedy but I really hope they greenlight a 20 episode second season. That way they can do what they do with SG1 and Atlantis, break the season down into two shorter Summer and Winter seasons. The waits inbetween seasons don't seem as long then
goth willow fan - February 6, 2005 03:17 PM (GMT)
Boy am I glad I didn't read any of these threads before watching the series, I was completely spoiler free for the whole thing.
Have to agree it's the best opening (fingers crossed) season I have ever seen.
Oh... and...
FRACK what a cliffhanger!
