Title: Episode 4x04
Psycho Jack - January 20, 2005 07:52 PM (GMT)
Ouch! A little bit of a spark between Kelly McDonald and Vartan. I’ve always liked her and she didn’t disappoint.
A nice all round episode again, quite dark and very much Vartan's. Bit of quality CGI too.
Weiss mouthing “You’re married” to Marshall cracked me up.
One thing that confused me, Kelly quite clearly has a Scottish accent but her ‘brother’ had an Irish accent . . . eh?
Michelle - January 20, 2005 10:53 PM (GMT)
Yep, I was confused with the accents too. I didn't recognise Kelly Mcdonald at first, until the name clicked after the ep finished and I was like "Hang on, she was in trainspotting". So first I thought, okay she's scottish, but as soon as her brother came into it and they started going on about the IRA I thought, is she supposed to be Irish? Cos if so, that's a crap irish accent.
Anyway, reasonably enjoyable episode, and a definite WTF moment both when the guys leg comes clean off, and even more so when he shatters! :D
kicking it old school - March 16, 2005 10:50 PM (GMT)
This episode was ok, apart from the dodgy accents! The guy exploding was a bit freaky. I thought it was nice how Vaughn managed to tell Sydney how he was feeling, without directly telling her, but with her hearing him saying it to the woman. I'm still not too sure about Nadia, I don't really like her, there's just something about her. Mind you I always have trouble adjusting to new characters/change on a tv show!
Laura - March 23, 2005 02:19 PM (GMT)
:lmao: at Weiss at the start having to go up to the guy "It's 'I've lost my canary and try saying it to the lady upstairs'"
Poor Vaughn, it's good that they aren't brushing all of this stuff with Lauren under the carpet :(. His alias as a priest allowing him to confess about how he feels was a nice touch and a great job by MV.
Yay to Kelly McDonald, it's always nice to hear a Scottish accent. But I too was confused as to why she was Scottish and her brother Irish .
I'm guessing that between S2 and S4 Alias changed from being sponsored by Nokia to being sponsored by Motorola, a nice shot of the V3 there (It's so sad that whenever I see a mobile phone now I could probably name it and tell you what features it has )
Fangy and grrr - April 18, 2005 01:14 AM (GMT)
Wow Kelly MacDonald in Alias ! I love Kelly MacDonald  I had no idea she was going to be in it so it was a really nice surprise to see her. I thought she was really good although I was a bit confused why she kept her own Scottish accent and her brother sounded Irish.
Thought Vaughn was very good in this episode ( in particular with his scenes with Kelly ) and I really liked his confesson about Lauren. Once again Weiss and Marshall were very funny and the opening with the guy was nicely gross. :)
Interesting that Jeffrey Bell's first Alias episode ( it was his first wasn't it ? ) was all about forgiveness and not being able to escape or forget your past which were very much the themes running thru his previous show Angel.
little pixie - April 18, 2005 11:46 AM (GMT)
Saw the advert for this episode and thought ` Oh, yet another ` Vaughn in Peril ` episode ` - Wow, was I wrong !!
Loved that MV finally got plenty to do - Vaughn to Dixon : You hit like a girl  That whole scene got a little scary....
Hurray for Weiss, who`s now part of the team  and for his canary line ! :lmao:
melian - April 18, 2005 01:15 PM (GMT)
I thought this episode started really well, with the incredible shattering man and all, then it just seemed to fade away. So much so that I went upstairs half way through. I think I just wasn't in the mood last night :(

I thought there was a bit of an homage to Graham Greene`s Whisky Priest ( ` The Power and the Glory ` ) :)

 Yeah, that occurred to me as well
Enjoyable episode, without being particularly great. Nice to see Vaughn dealing with the Lauren issue. Syd didn't get an awful lot to do this week, but the stuff with Nadia and the picture was interesting. Loved Marshall's picture gallery
Yay-For-Me - April 18, 2005 05:36 PM (GMT)
Good episode that freaked me out with the shattered man at the beginning. :fear: Thought it was a good way to deal with the Lauren issue. Nice to see Vaughn with plenty to do. Very strange with the Scottish and Irish accents. :weird:
Outta Sight - April 18, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
This episode was a goer for me right from the start. The strange man wandering around muttering (I paraphrase) "I've lost my bird.....I've lost my bird....." and Weiss creeping up behing him and muttering "the phrase is the canary has flown and try saying it to the girl in the cafe" :lmao: I laughed out loud immediately and was hooked all the way through :D
Vaughn was at his most brooding which, I have to admit, wasn't as appealing as it's been in the past but I did love his interaction with Kelly MacDonald and his own confession that was an aside to Sydney.
From a purely shallow and female point of view, I have to say that I'm finding Weiss a hell of a lot more tempting at the moment  :D

I'll take your word for it LP as any literary references will probably go over my head.

Basically, it`s about a failed priest who drinks whisky and searches for redemption

Zap2It IndexThe following was on the site above, very awkward string to post, but if you search ` Abrams ` it comes up. Don`t think there`s anything new in this article, though . :)
Abrams' 'Catch' Back on Track at ABC
(Wednesday, March 23 09:38 AM)
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) "The Catch," a long-in-development pilot from "Alias" and "Lost" creator J.J. Abrams, is finally ready to begin filming.
The show, originally about a pair of bounty hunters, first showed up on ABC's development slate last spring. At the time, it was intended as a midseason replacement starring "Alias" and "Felicity" veteran Greg Grunberg and Orlando Jones, with comic Don Rickles in a supporting role.
Jones later departed the show, and late last year writer-producer John Eisendrath, who has worked with Abrams on "Alias," joined the project with an eye toward revamping it.
Eisendrath, who also created ESPN's "Playmakers," has a development deal with Touchstone TV, which is producing "The Catch."
The rewritten pilot, in which Grunberg will play a private eye and single dad, begins filming this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rickles remains on board as Grunberg's grandfather and business partner, while Kym Whitley ("Deliver Us from Eva," "The Parkers") will play their new associate.
Joanne Kelly ("Jeremiah") and Daylia Wallace have also joined the cast, playing Grunberg's sister and daughter.

Good ep, bar the accents and the police cars
Nice to see MV taking centre stage!
