I've been watching a few early Stargates (including Bane and Enigma), and I've noticed just how much Maybourne's changed! In the episodes above, he is one of those gits you really want to punch, and it's quite a contract once you're used to the comic relief Maybourne you get from Season 4 onwards.
Incidentally, I hope he does come back for Season 8 - while his story as it is is over (with his relocation with the Tok'ra), it would be a shame to never see him again - I wonder if the recent turn of events with regards to the Tok'ra alliance will bring him back?

I love the character of Maybourne I really do, right back from his shady beginnings through to his almost comedic stint on the show. I hope he returns in season 8, I would imagine he will at some point. If this really is the last season, and I know we've heard it before but this time I think it actually might be, then it would be unthinkable for him not to put in at least a token appearance. From what I've heard there should be a few familiar faces/races turning up throughout season 8.
Can't wait.
And an SG1-a-thon. Yes, must add that to the list for later in the year :)

And the marathons are fun - usually I'll pick a disc that has one episode I want to see, and then when it's loaded I'll see which others jump out at me :)

S3 is on Sky One at the moment if you want to go from there. I'm taping the eps i remembered liking so i can watch them again if i choose.

I did think about setting up an SG-1 rewatch, but with Babylon 5, Angel and Deep Space Nine (amongst others) going at the moment I didn;t want to foist another rewatch on us :)
Unless there's a sudden demand for one, of course, then I'm sure I could get one going :)
And I'm not surprised it's quiet at the moment - right now there's no new Stargate - S9 doesn't start till July, both the broadcasts on Sky One and Channel 4 have finished, and most of the major new seson news has come out already (Ben Browder et al).
The only 'new' things would be for those people who are dependant on the DVDs...
