Doctor Who Unbound: Sympathy for the Devil (Doctor Who S.) [AUDIOBOOK]
Jonathan Clements

has anyone heard of this? is it any good? which doctor does it feature?

Yes I have heard of it :)

I assume first-off that you're aware of Big Finish, who for the last 6 years have been making new Doctor Who audio adventures with Davison, (Colin) Baker, McCoy and McGann, usually releaseing a new story every month.

For the 40th anniversary they did a series called 'Doctor Who: Unbound', which involved taking 6 different original actors to play the Doctor (such as Geoffrey Bayldon, David Warner and Arabella Weir), and then placing them in certain 'what if' situations, such as 'What if the First Doctor never left Gallifrey', or 'What if the Doctor was a heartless git, who would do whatever was necessary to achieve his goals?'

This particular story had David Warner as the Doctor, and was based around the idea of 'what if the Third Doctor arrived on Earth for his exile 30 years later', so setting the story in a world where all these alien invasions (which would have been thwarted by the Doctor) weren't foiled as easily as seen on the series.

Been a while since I listened to it though, but I remember quiet enjoying it...

I've never really gotten into the "Big Finish" series of stories. I might look out the Unbound storyline though, it sounds interesting.

Yes I have heard of Big Finish just not the UNBOUND stories!!! Have ordered one called EXILES just to see what they are like.

Phillip Culley - January 16, 2005 10:27 PM (GMT)
No!!!!!

Cancel your order at once, good sir!

I promise you that Exile is possibly the worse thing I've ever heard!

Unless of course you find great humour in people farting, belching and throwing up....

Too late already on its way. Never mind. If I dont like it I can always find a home for it.

Thanks for the warning though.

Phillip Culley - January 16, 2005 11:52 PM (GMT)
Oh well, I tried :)

Don't judge the series on Exile, however, since the rest is far, far better (although there is one story which is a bit of a continuity fest! :))
