Title: Got To Restart
ken1701e - January 4, 2005 07:35 AM (GMT)
Got to get back to watching this, getting lagged behind. Stopped at 1x19 and havent got any further. Fell asleep twice watching 1x20 but that was because I was tired not because of the programme itself.
Been watching too much Family Guy since Christmas Day to watch any.

Don't worry Ken, I'm six episodes behind myself, bloody Christmas

Well I got to Severed Dreams before stopping - bloody xmas :)

Well I've not started Season 2 yet - perhaps we should put the rewatch on hold for a few weeks to give us all a chance to catch up?

I haven't watched Chrysalis yet, I too need a bit of a spurt to catch up :ph43r:

Nooooo! :o

Hows about we pause the rewatch for a couple of weeks, then restart it from season 2? Then those of us (no pointing fingers in Ken's direction everyone ;) ) who have fallen behind can catch up and we can all start from the same point in S2.
Crichton Kicks - January 4, 2005 05:48 PM (GMT)
In hindsight the smart thing would have been to stop over Christmas and kick back in with season 2 over the new year.
That being the case, I think we'll have a short respite giving those behind the chance to catch up. No new episodes next week or the week after; we'll then kick back in with the next 2 episodes.
So, everyone playing catchup, you've got two and a half weeks to get upto pace ;)

This sounds like a plan to me. I've gotten so far behind I don't even know where I'm up to any more :D , so if the rewatch is restarting that'll suit me fine.

:tear:
Well, you'll forgive me if I happen to ignore that and carry on regardless, with maybe 1 episode a week or something. ;)
Although I may end up being grateful for the respite what with 4 new shows starting this week, and me also starting TWW S2 and Final fantasy 10.

Careful, you don't want to overdo it
I'll pretend I didn't hear (see) that first bit

I'm sorry I can't join in on your re-watch as I'm currently watching season 4 and I'm in the final third trying hard not to watch everything too fast, again!
next is ep 19 :D

Not long before one of the big five then; Endgame
You can take The Coming of Shadows, Severed Dreams, War Without End, Endgame and Sleeping in Light, and pretty much win anyone over to the show.

Too true Angel about the big five, some of the finest TV ever made. Another particular favourite of mine is what I watched last night which is a "between the darkness and the light"... yep not too long until the the episode end game ! :D it's either next or the one after that my memorys not in gear today.

I love how Londo and G'kar secretly rally the League of non aligned worlds without Delenn knowing about it & I Sooooooo love the Ivanova speech which is one of my favourite moments from Babylon 5  ....
"This is the White Star Fleet. Negative on surrender...we will not stand down."
"Who is this? Identify yourself."
"Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova, Commander, daughter of Andrei and Sophie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth ... I am Death incarnate, and the last living thing that you are ever going to see. God sent me."

I forgotten about Z'Ha'Dum  .....another excellent episode
Crichton Kicks - January 13, 2005 06:39 PM (GMT)
Re the Ivanova quote, spot on  Always gives me a kick that one.
In the Shadow of Z'ha'dum would be on the next echelon of episodes down from those mentioned. Another one on that level for me was Season 2's Comes the Inquisitor which I still persist is an absolutely brilliant piece of w**k on so many levels.
star_fury - January 15, 2005 02:31 PM (GMT)
I never rated "comes the inquisitor" all that highly so I would have to disagree on that.
It turns out I couldn't wait (again) watching "endgame" on Thursday night and "rising star" last night plus a few extras. I can't recall what the extra was called but it contained about six minutes of some of the most memorable visual sequences from Babylon 5 (I think only season 3 and 4? Maybe only season 4?) with a musical score that sat perfectly against the feel of the pictures! The gag reel was funny too!
only the deconstruction of falling stars, its commentary track plus the commentary track for the face of the enemy and I've finished season 4.
I'll have to wait a while before getting season five and the movies box-set. :(
Crichton Kicks - January 15, 2005 02:38 PM (GMT)
I think it's the No Surrender, No Retreat DVD Suite you're talking about, and you're right, it's a fantastic little montage !!
I thought Comes the Inquisitor just gave Mira and Bruce a great opportunity to use their range of acting abilities. For me it worked, and Wayne Alexander was simply electric as Sebastian, at times literally

I completely agree there - I've always found Comes the Inquisitor the let down of the big 'final 6' in Season 2. :)
And the No Surrender suite has been my favourite of all the B5 extras thus far - and despite being only 6 minutes, has immense rewatch/relistenability! :D

Philistines the pair of you :p
That final six episode stretch of season 2 is arguably the show's strongest run of episodes.

I tihnk you'll find that when you've watched Babylon Squared, you won't need much urging to get through the rest of the season Ken ;)
Babylon Squared is compelling.
