Title: Coto On End Of Season

Enterprise executive producer Manny Coto yesterday said he intends to bring the focus closer to home in season four's final arc.
"We'd like to bring our sights back to earth, to feature areas or landscapes of Starfleet we haven't seen, the Martian colony, the moon colony, our own solar system," Coto told Maureen Ryan at the Chicago Tribune. "The final story [of the season] will be mankind overcoming its own prejudices, to begin this process of [founding] the Federation. The last challenge will be our own solar system. The final obstacle will be ourselves."
Coto has other ambitious plans for the remainder of the season, including an episode set in the Mirror Universe introduced in the original Star Trek's "Mirror, Mirror". "We're really excited about that one. It'll be as if you changed the channel to Enterprise and you get the mirror universe version of the show. We're even going to change the title sequence. People will be wondering, what show is this?"
While a guest appearance by William Shatner (James T. Kirk) is still in limbo, Coto said he wouldn't "rule out" a return visit by Brent Spiner, who played Arik Soong in the Augments arc earlier this season. The writer/producer also said he was enthusiastic about the upcoming Klingon arc, set to begin in February sweeps with "Affliction". In addition to revealing the reason why the Klingons in the original series had no ridges on their foreheads, Coto said the episodes would include "a conflict between Archer and Reed and the beginnings of Section 31".
As to whether the good ship Enterprise will be kept in service for a fifth season, Coto said "it's still pretty much up in the air". But UPN entertainment president Dawn Ostroff sounded upbeat about the show's future: "We've gotten great feedback from fans. The show is at a great place [creatively] and we're very happy with the ideas and execution."

The final arc sounds promising.

Certainly looks interesting - although I thought the Vulcan arc would be interesting too :(
And why is it that they promote Divergence as 'the one where they explain the forehead' (like anoyine really cares), ratehr than the one which sets up Section 31? certainly sounds a lot more interesting...
At least if anything they're showing a bit of inventiveness with this mirror universe episode (read as 'give everyone a reason to ham it up big time and go all slutty' :)) - the news of the 'alternate credits' could be a good thing for the series, then again it could just get confused viewers expecting Enterprise to have turned off too early :)

Although since no bugger's watching it I don't really think that matters :)

All being well it won't just be the opening credits that are different, let's see what they can do with that damned theme tune

Nothing wrong with the Vulcan arc!!!
And yes, some of us are still watching it and will continue to do so.
Apparently there are increasing promising signs that ENTERPRISE will infact get a 5th season but I will believe it when it happens!!!
Oh and ANGEL, I happen to like the theme tune, I sing along to it every time an episode starts and as I said in another thread I bought the soundtract album last week!!!
Altogether now "Its been a long time...."

It takes all sorts Ken :p
Seriously though, I can see what they were trying to do; get rid of the orchestral score and bring it closer to our timeframe. Unfortunately they weren't quite contemporary enough in their selection. As it stands, the theme tune sits awkwardly.
I think I'd have preferred another orchestral score. Either that or they should have gone with The Calling's rendition which they used for the initial trailers prior to the series debuting.

No - it does a very good job of curing insomnia :) As I said before, it could have been a lot better had they not had the misguided belief that "arc = padding out stories so they go on longer". Had there been an underlying theme about problems with the Vulcans which built up to the whole katra story, then it would have felt a lot more satisfying than 'right - that's Soong wrapped up - let's throw our heroes into another story right away'. It worked for TNG which thrived on standalone episodes, but when they claim to be w**king towards arcs what they are in fact doing is w**king toward 3-part stories.
It would be commercial suicide for Enterprise to try something on the scale of B5 (although it would have been preferred - depending of course if it could be pulled off :)), but they should have gone back to what they did in Season 3 which was almost there - it just needed a bit more pre-planning to avoid the likes of the Sphere Builders appearing just as they were relevant to the plot, or an Enterprise from the past which was flitting around the Expanse near Azati Prime for 100 years and no-one so much as mentioned it until E-Squared.
After all, on DS9 the Dominion were hinted at during S2 through occasional comments from other aliens as an overseeing force in the Gamma Quadrant, so when they were introduced at the end of the season, it felt much more natural rather than 'bang - here are the new bad guys'.

Of course, it is an incentive to hurry up and catch up with B5 :)

Well for a mirror universe story, I can picture maybe some half wit American Rock band doing a new version of the theme. With a crescendo that consists of Russell Watson being throttled :D

The arc thing sounds interesting, although as yet I haven't seen any of S4 so I couldn't say if it sounded better than the rest of the series.
Must try and get hold of a few eps and then find time to watch them
