Same as the Season One Spoiler Thread. Anything spoilerish that you want to discuss please raise it here and keep the episode threads spoiler free for the newbies.

Just watched Points of Departure and Revelations - the gear has certainly been stepped up

Anyway just thought I'd say how easy it was for Sheridan to spot that the shadows had interefered with Anna - its a different bloody woman entirely :D :D :D

Interesting that they wasted no time whatsoever in transferring what would have been Sakai's storyline over to someone new, after Sinclair's departure.

Poor Julia Nickson. "Yeah, Michael O'Hare's leaving the show, so.......well, so are you....."

It's not technically a spoiler, but this is probably the best place to check...

What's happenning regarding Knives/Shadow of Z'ha'dum? The DVDs have them with Shadow first, but I believe it's supposed to have been Knives first; I think it was held back to CGI issues...

And let's not mentioned Soul Mates/Race Through Dark Places - I've not seen any actual confirmed order for those two episodes - it seems they're chosen in any random order! :)

Crichton Kicks - December 3, 2004 11:43 PM (GMT)
As far as Soul Mates and Race Through Dark Places are concerned we'll go with the DVD order.

With regards to Knives and In the Shadow of Z'ha'dum, we'll have Knives first, and In The Shadow.... after. That way we get a cracking run of six episodes to end the season.

Isn't there a bit in Knives that lends itself to that episode airing first ?? It makes reference to Anna/The Icarus IIRC, getting it fresh in the viewer's mind, ready for the following episode.

Yes it makes more sense to to see Knives first

Just noticed this one whilst watching PoD. Lennier tells Sheridan that over the past couple of thousand years the Minbari birth rate has been in decline. Chalking this up as a symptom of Minbari souls being reborn into Human bodies.

This doesn't tie in. The whole issue of Minbari souls being transferred is due to Sinclair going back 1000 years and infusing the Minbari gene pool with Human DNA at that point. As such when they scanned him with the triluminary at the Battle of the Line, it activated.

That still doesn't explain what was happening to the Minbari birth rate for the 1000 years prior to that though

People watching the DVDs for the first time are walking a minefield with spoilers. Firstly there's the 'Introduction to Season 2' where one of the clips shows the eventual traitor unmasked in Divided Loyalties, and then in the opening credits to PoD there's a picture of Post-Chrysalis Delenn

Oops.

Crichton Kicks - December 12, 2004 05:21 PM (GMT)
And another one.

Anyone else noted the similarities between Post Chrysalis Delenn and Post-Nuclear Blast Morden ?? They both had the Gekko-look.

Actually, I caught some of this episode while my Mum was watching it (she's pinched my DVDs for her own rewatch :)), and the Icarus briefly appears on screen when Sheridan is hallucinating in C&C.

Crichton Kicks - December 12, 2004 11:31 PM (GMT)
Thought so. I'm trying to imagine my mum ever watching something like B5. I'm not seeing it

I remember when In The Shadow of Z'ha'dum aired on C4, I was expecting Knives, and was pleasantly surprised when the episode came on. From the pre-credits teaser it was obvious which episode it was. I'd come to learn by that point, that episode titles with the word Shadow in them were pretty darned good, and I'd been particularly looking forward to that one.

Hey - it was my Mum who got in to B5 first - I still remember her shocked reaction to the end of Z'ha'dum :)

She's still a sci-fi fan (albeit a passive one) - she's been pinching my S6 and S7 SG-1 DVDs, as well as watching the new Enterprises (sadly she has no-one at w**k she can gloat to about it :D)

Crichton Kicks - December 13, 2004 12:10 AM (GMT)
You're lucky. My mum can't stand either Sci-Fi/Fantasy or American TV fullstop. Worse still when it's American SF/F

I think she used to like Dallas (well I hope so, seeing as I've got her the Dallas Seasons 1 & 2 DVD set for Christmas !!) and Dynasty and that's about it.

NJS - December 19, 2004 09:14 PM (GMT)
I''ve gone a little ahead and got to thinking during Soul Mates and A Race through the dark places - the former is the one Holtz (sorry can't be bothered to check the spelling of his real name :)) and the latter the one with Bester and the rogue telepaths.

When I watched 24 S1 I found the revealing of Nina unrealistic as she had ample opportunity to do more damage earlier so I felt that it was another one of those typical 24 "just for the effect" type shocks. Now I'm a bit hazy on Talia's mole status but surely 1. The Ironheart "gift" would have affected it and 2. Why wouldn't it mean that she helped Bester properly?

Thoughts/answers?

Crichton Kicks - December 20, 2004 06:09 PM (GMT)
The important thing to remember Neil is that Talia was never intended to leave at the end of season 2. Unfortunately Andrea Thompson had other ideas though.

The Ironheart gift would undoubtedly have played a part later on, in fact didn't Lyta shows signs of Teek abilities later in the series ?? With the way things went, I don't know. It's clear from the conversation between Talia and Ivanova in Divided Loyalties that the mole identity was aware of what Talia was doing, how much the gift was affected when Talia's original personality was destroyed is unknown. Presumably, Psi Corps were studying Miss Winters, as Bester later confirms.

As to why the Mole identity wouldn't have let her help Bester properly, part of the Mole identity's mission was to ingratiate Talia into a position of trust with the command staff. Beside, the Mole identity resided in the sub conscious, it wasn't able to take over until the control code was given.

I finished S2 tonight (sorry James :)) and overall it wasn't as coherent as I remembered. The arc episodes were more sparse than I thought and there were more stand alones (though with hints here and ther obviously). Still pretty good individually - just lacking a little in overall picture stakes.

Some of the things which I thought happened obviously happen later. This means that S3 and S4 are even "fuller" than I thought which is good.

I thought that by the time S3 started we had more idea about the Shadows but they're still a bit of a mystery.

Will probably dive into S3 over the next few days.

One slapped wrist for Neil ;)

The thing to remember about how much they know about the Shadows by the end of Season 2 is the fact that Keffer's the first one to get a really good look at one of their ships in the finale.

There are plenty of hints, and we do get some background info on them in IN THE SHADOW OF Z'HA'DUM, but they're still pretty much an unknown quantity by the season's end.

The main purpose of season 2 as the umbrella title suggests is the coming of Shadows. They're still being alluded to, but their schemes are already well underway, what with the Narn/Centauri war :)

Phillip Culley - February 27, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
After reading the Divided Loyalties thread, it's thankful that the ambiguity about Ivanova/Talia was resolved for us in Season 3 :)
