Title: What’s the last episode you watched?

LoobiLou - April 26, 2004 09:17 PM (GMT)
What was it? Was it as good as you remembered?

I’ve just finished S1’s Darkness Falls and it’s just as good as the first time round, a great standalone featuring the famous dodgy computer wizardry that was in most early eps.

There was one thing that puzzled me though, the insects were afraid of light and the whole group were fearing that the generator might go out before sunrise; so why didn’t they start a fire? They’re in the wilderness and have two experts on survival? ...it was the first time I've ever noticed it

DARKNESS FALLS ??

Methinks you've been inspired by the Beeb board discussion of said episode ;)

I'm ashamed to admit this, and I really must rectify the situation as soon as possible, but I honestly can't remember what the last episode I saw was !! :o

Got a feeling it might have been BAD BLOOD, but it was some time ago.

Time to break out the boxsets obviously :)

LoobiLou - April 26, 2004 09:31 PM (GMT)
I haven't been to the beeb X File board in months, just took a look now, very spooky :o ...none of them noticed the fire thing though B)

Crichton Kicks - April 26, 2004 09:42 PM (GMT)
^^ How very eerily appropriate ;)

How come you don't go to the Beeb boards anymore then ?

LoobiLou - April 26, 2004 09:50 PM (GMT)
I'm at the beeb daily, it's just The X File one I don't bother with anymore, no specific reason for it :)

Crichton Kicks - April 26, 2004 09:55 PM (GMT)
I must admit my interest there has waned of late, in fact ever since the show ended to be honest. No idea why, the XF just seems to be taking a general backseat right now.

Guess they really need to get that 2nd movie out to get us back on track ;)

Persephone - April 26, 2004 10:31 PM (GMT)
I must admit I have noticed your presence on the beeb Val, esp with the Whovians

I bought X files seasons 1-8 last year in the sales, and am embarrased to say I've only got through season 1 and half of season 2., I just can't seem to get motivated.

Crichton Kicks - April 26, 2004 10:39 PM (GMT)
^^ I'm famous :) Or is that infamous ?? :)

I don't really mind the Whovians, but my patience is finite, and there's only so many "Woe is us" threads I can take ;)

Persephone - April 26, 2004 10:46 PM (GMT)
I post there too silly :D

As I keep trying to say on there, I have no problems with them, if they'll just lay off the other boards.

Crichton Kicks - April 26, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
It is getting rather tedious. Most of them are ok, but then you get the odd spoilt brat, "we have a right to this, we have a right to that....", actually you have no right to anything :)

"Why do we have this board ?? Why do we have that board....?? Woe, woe is us....." . Why have we had Doctor Who boards for the past God knows how many years when there's been no new episodes airing ??

If they carry on, I'll hit 'em where it hurts :) "I have a Barb meter and I WON'T be watching the new series now, just because you lot have annoyed me !!!" :D Hahahahah !!!!

Persephone - April 26, 2004 10:57 PM (GMT)
Most seem friendly enough, I don't care honestly if they post or not, but it is getting a bit silly. They're an eccentric bunch though :D

Crichton Kicks - April 26, 2004 11:04 PM (GMT)
^^ They all model themselves on Sylvester McCoy :D

I don't honestly mind them, providing I don't log on and find the entire first page full of Dr Who threads :(

HollyHop - April 26, 2004 11:40 PM (GMT)
I'm not really sure what the last one I saw was

I think it was probably The Calusari. I think it was on the late night repeats on BBC2 a while ago.

I watched 'William' last week :(, always has me in tears, I still can't believe she did it!

I watched Jose Chung's From Outer Space the other day. I love that episode. I watched Monday too. Very good.

I loved x-files when it first started and never missed an episode but got bored with it after the first three of four seasons and the movie. Stopped watching it altogether just before Mulder's departure from the show but plan to rewatch as many as I can now that it is being repeated again on Sky.

Had a thing for Gillian Anderson I remember but then I have a thing for red heads as some of you will know (funny how I have never dated one though!!)

Crichton Kicks - May 5, 2004 11:34 AM (GMT)
My wife's a redhead, and the ex before that.

Not necessarily a "thing" for them, just luck I guess :)

Re The XF, I can understand that Ken, I lost patience with the mythology in later years. I loved the early mix of arc and standalone, but the imbalance just became too great in later seasons.

HollyHop - May 5, 2004 12:36 PM (GMT)
The mythology did seem to get a bit much towards the end and by the last series they really had to tell it all as there can't be that many secrets left.

The X files seems to work best when the main characters are in pairs. Once Mulder had gone and Monica was a regular cast member it seemed to loose it a bit.

Crichton Kicks - May 5, 2004 12:43 PM (GMT)
I'd agree with that.

Season 9, despite being lambasted from many quarters was actually an improvement for me over season 8 as the ensemble cast of that season was largely downplayed. Mulder was gone completely. Scully was almost totally backseat, which left Dogget and Reyes to flourish, and IMO they did. I still think they should have continued with just that pair.

The XF, was for me, at it's best in the first 4 or 5 years.

LoobiLou - May 5, 2004 01:52 PM (GMT)
I’ve loved it every step of the way, the myth did get a little too court up in it’s self later on, but other than that, no problems at all :)

Ghostmachine - March 2, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
I just watched Drive tonight. My first XF episode in months, I'm sorry to say. Thoroughly enjoyed it too, that's one cool episode.

Crichton Kicks - March 2, 2005 11:27 PM (GMT)
The last episode I watched was 2x02 The Host

Flukeman's great

star_fury - March 3, 2005 04:48 PM (GMT)
The last episode I watched the season 3 episode 4. I can't remember what it was called.

I can't remember if it was as good as I remember it or not.
