Title: Dark Shadows

Persephone - May 10, 2004 08:15 PM (GMT)
I have mixed feelings towards this. The vampire show 'supposedly' groomed to be taking over from Angel on the WB, now looks to be passed on by the WB. What kind of a sick network are they? I at least wanted it to fail 'on air' ;)

Made a bit of a mockery of WB's desire to get away from Vamp shows like Angel though didn't it ??

"So what's replacing Angel then ??"

>>Hmmm, maybe Dark Shadows.<<

"Oh, what's that about then ??"

>>Erm........<<

I'm thinking they may keep it up their sleeves for a while, till the fuss over Angel dies down. I was sure they were financing it

They were definitely producing the Pilot. So what's the story with WB and the Pilot then ?? I haven't heard about it going south. Wouldn't surprise me though.

I thought they were supposed to be testing it before the new season was announced, so your guess is as good as mine.

I know the Pilot was slated for production. Once filmed, if they make it that far, they air it, see how it does and then make a decision.

To be honest, I don't really care if it gets made or not, either way, don't think I'll be watching it on principle.

Agreed ;)

Dark Shadows and anything shown on Showtime :(

Persephone - May 10, 2004 09:53 PM (GMT)
Never seen Showtime, explainy?

Crichton Kicks - May 10, 2004 09:59 PM (GMT)
Showtime are a premium subscription channel in the States.

Last year they cancelled ODYSSEY 5, not because of the ratings, which were quite good, but because they wanted to move away from the genre. Anyway, that was tolerable because they did renew JMS's JEREMIAH. This season however they've dicked around the show something rotten. In the States they produced 15 episodes for season 2. They began airing in October last year and stopped airing after 8 episodes, holding the rest back for transmission at some future date. They still haven't been show, although thankfully they were shown in Canada, and it's looking highly likely that the show won't return for a third season.

Not entirely Showtime's fault I'll grant you, JMS was leaving anyway due to MGM's continued interference, but I can't really boycott them, that would mean missing Stargate :) And besides, there's nothing else I really watch from Showtime

Okay, we'll boycott Dark Shadows, and the WB, Channel 5, maybe Showtime, and VH1, cos it's pants
