Title: 1.10 Ariel

Persephone - September 27, 2004 09:51 AM (GMT)
Simon offers the crew a proposition : if they help him sneak River into a hospital, so he can run tests on her, he'll tell them where to find medical supplies, that will fetch an enormous price, on the black market

:o Jayne how could he

So we start with increased animosity between Jayne and Simon/River.

River slashing Jayne saying he looks better in red, not a good way to make friends.

Liked Simon coming up with their next job, coming into his element devising the plan.

Kaylee must be person to get excited in a junkyard, but how quickly could she make a med ship
:o girl has talent

I always enjoy the planning of robberies on screen, Jayne trying to learn the medical procedures and then when not questioned blurting it out anyway :lmao:

We get to see a new side of Simon when saving the patient's life and taking the doctor apart afterwards, he is full of confidence and authority. Then we find out why River is so troubled - they have hacked at her brain leaving her vunerable to all emotions :o

And Jayne does the dirty on them - will he do anything for cash :o

The blue hand duo are seriously freaky, even Jayne seemed pretty scared of the blood curdling screams.

Then Mal rumbles Jayne and seriously chastises him, it seems that it was touch and go as to whether he would have spaced him, only Jayne's shame saving him.

Brilliant episode yet again

Another brilliant episode, indeed. I love the fact that Jayne is perfectly prepared to turn River and Simon in to line his own pockets. Not because I don't like River Simon, I do, but just because it's his nature and to deviate from that and have him suddenly trying to protect them would seem unrealistic. He's a mercenary bastard, through and through, LOL.

Very funny with them doggedly learning the medical jargon only to be let straight through, LOL. Jayne's desire to get it out anyway is hilarious

This episode is just faultless. I love it from start to finish. Again, the effects are outstanding, the dialogue and acting are spot on, the plan's great.

The sub plot with Jayne is really well done, and completely believable of the man. Loved the way everyone except Mal thinks he's the hero of the piece

Two by two, hands of blue. Hope they return in Serenity

This is my favourite ep of the entire series. I loved the meticulous preparation, the scenes in the hospital were superb and then the plan went pear-shaped as Jayne got greedy.

The devide those blue-handed guys used to kill was intriguing. I'm not sure how it works (maybe some kind of ultrasonic frequency?) but the most interesting thing was that the blue-handed guys had an immunity to it.

Amazing episode

Two by two, hands of blue :fear: they were really creepy.

Jayne really funny as usual. All that effort to learn his lines and then not having to say them but saying them anyway :lmao: :lmao: and look on his face was hilarious. Glad he saved River and Simon, also pleased that he didn't get away with what he did

You'd think I'd be sick of saying this by now, but yet another fantastic episode

Isn't it weird that even though Jayne betrays River, Simon, Mal, and the rest of the crew, you still like him and hope Mal doesn't space him

The heist itself is perfectly planned by young Master Tam

I love Wash's line about stealing from the rich and selling to the poor  , and Mal complaining and saying he'd for once like things to go according to the gorram plan

Jayne: Make something up. Don't tell 'em what I did. :tear:

endgame - June 26, 2005 12:30 PM (GMT)
I can't believe Jayne turned over Simon and River to the Feds :o - okay I can  . I was surprised at first, but the more I thought about it (especially after seeing how quickly he abandoned his old crew to go with Mal for more money in the previous ep) I wasn't surprised at all. What did surprise me was the way he was willing to accept his punishment from Mal.

Loved how Simon masterminded the heist, he's always seemed so straight-laced until now (apart from the whole freeing his sister and being a fugitive thing of course  ). I also liked the way River encouraged him to step in and save the patient. Seeing the way he handled the emergency and how he dealt with the doctor made me appreciate all the more how much he's given up to help his sister.

And the blue hand guys definitely scare me now! What was that thing they used? The screaming and the blood was horrible :fear: . (But after seeing them again I think you're right Melian, they are wearing blue gloves ;) )

Great stuff with the neat twist with Jayne. I wondered if it was going to be some sort of double-double cross but that would have been ridiculous and impossibly risky. As endgame mentions the previous episode does offer something like a primer as to Jayne's shameful actions here. sk
