Title: Future Guy
Crichton Kicks - May 9, 2004 01:18 AM (GMT)
Absent all season, but for all those still wondering as to the identity of Future Guy I can exclusively reveal that he's no other than.........Porthos :)

For 3 years we all wondered who is the TCW Guy and now we know its Archers dog.
he can just pretend to sit there chewing on his toy but really he's listening to the top secert convo's between Archer & T'Pol.
and his motive is quite simple...In the near future Archer will forget to feed him so he takes revenge on Archer by altering the past. |
Made me laugh anyway :)

Thinking about it though, I wonder if Future Guy is one of the Sphere Builders, like the Xindi contact (as revealed in Damage).
Given how they both communicate in the same way, it's possible that there's some link planned...

It's certainly plausible. It would also fit in with his manipulating of the Suliban, just as the Sphere Builders have manipulated the Xindi. To be honest though it just doesn't feel right to me. I think the TCW is completely independent of the Xindi thread. There must be somekind of rudimentary link though, hence Daniels' involvment.
I just don't think all the cards are on the table yet with regards to the TCW. I know I've said this before, but I fully expect the TCW to somehow link in with the Romulan thread. Just a feeling.

I think I'm just giving B&B too much credit :)
While it would be a nice touch for the TCW to link to the Romulans, however Braga's assertion that they want to avoid Romulans (for some bizarre reason),as well as the fact it would involve much too much pre-planning (something I know they wouldn't worry about), I have my doubts :)

Unless they're throwing us off with their Romulan comments ;)
I mean, think about, could anyone actually be as thick as Braga sometimes makes himself look ?? :)

When it comes to retconning Borg and Ferengi 200 years before their initial encounter, nobody could be as think as Braga :)

I'm interested to see more details of this non-Trek show that he and Berman are creating.
a) Will UPN give them this to get them away from Enterprise/Trek ??
B) Can it possibly be as bad as anything else they've ever done ??
Hmmmm.
Phillip Culley - May 9, 2004 04:39 PM (GMT)
I'm actually cautiously optimistic about it.
If they have free range on a TV show, in a new universe, then I think many failings held against them (continuity and the like) won't be held against them.
Of course, the show could be rubbish, but at least then it'll be cancelled after 13 epsiodes (as it won't have the Trek name to support it :))

I don't think the continuity is the main problem to be honest. To keep with continuity all's they had to really do with Enterprise was to start seeding the Federation, have a war with the Romulans and possibly explore the Vulcan/Andorian situation. Does that sound like a bad show ?? We may have known the ultimate destination but with half-decent writers the journey would have been worthwhile.
Instead for the first couple of years Enterprise was by and large wasted :(
