Title: Berman's Opinion On The Future Of Trek

Quoted from Trektoday;

QUOTE
Rick Berman, the co-executive producer of Star Trek: Enterprise isn't operating under the assumption that the upcoming fourth season will be Enterprise's last.

"We are not working with the premise that this will be the last season but ever since The Next Generation we have never looked beyond the current season," he told IESB.net's Robert Sanchez. Berman does believe, however, that after Enterprise finishes its run, a new series will not immediately follow. "There [are] currently no plans right now for any new [Trek] TV series. A break from Star Trek on TV [after Enterprise] wouldn't be a bad idea," he said.

Berman noted that the fourth season of Enterprise will be packed with guest stars, including wrestling star Paul "The Big Show" Wight, who plays an Orion slave trader, Golden Brooks (Beauty Shop) and Robert Iler (The Sopranos). He noted that negotiations are still continuing with William Shatner (James T. Kirk), who may appear later on in the season.

When asked about the proposed Trek feature film, Berman acknowledged that something is in the works, though in the very beginning stages. "The rumors [about the film] are not very accurate, we are in very early stages and we are not sure what we will see at the end," he said. "A few things that I can share is that the movie will be a prequel and probably after Enterprise. It will be like nothing we have ever seen on Star Trek and it will be based on all new characters."

The guy's such a loser. Bring back Ira Behr and get rid of this Jackass and his sidekick :rolleyes: :mad: :angry:

I'm surprised Bermans opinion didn't involve a series with an improbably large breasted woman character and a supporting cast with little or no character development or decent screen time......

WTF they're doing an unrelated prequel for is anyones guess. Surely the whole point of ST films is that fans of the show, whether it's DS9/Voyager or whatever, will watch because it has the same characters as the show :angry:

Perhaps if there is a gap between the end of Enterprise and a new show or film B & B will move on or get themselves fired or something.

Berman's a f*cking muppet.

I've been rewatching the DS9 S7 DVDs over the past week or so, on Saturday I finished them off and went through the extras. One in particular on 'the end of an era' surprised me a little, Berman was there front and centre taking credit for the show. Hello ?? The only positive thing you did with the series is leave it in the capable hands of Ira Behr. It's only through sheer luck that Voyager was there for him and his sidekick to spoil that DS9 got away with being brilliant.

As far as the movies go, DS9 could work, but will never be given the chance, at least not whilst Berman's in charge. He's jealous of it's success, something that his show, Voyager, and now Enterprise has not achieved.

The ultimate slap in the face was for Ira Behr. Berman and Braga asked him in and got his thoughts on how to save the franchise. He told them, they weren't happy so totally ignored him. W*nkers.

Looking back over DS9 only highlights yet more just what Trek has lost over recent years. Enterprise is undoubtedly an improvement upon Voyager, but even still, it's a million miles away from the magnificence of DS9.
