Title: CSI
Jae - May 8, 2004 08:16 AM (GMT)
I thought it was about time I started a CSI thread. ;)
So, what do you think's going on with Sara? I mean with her drinking. I hope she's not doing it cos she's upset about Grissom rejecting her. BTW, I really hope they don't ever get together :fear:
Crichton Kicks - May 8, 2004 11:36 AM (GMT)
Doubtful, and I'm sure Sara's drinking will take a turn for the worse when she finds out that Grissom recommended Nick for promotion over her :)
melian - May 10, 2004 04:50 PM (GMT)
I hope that Sara's drinking will at least be touched upon in this weeks episode.

| Where are C5 upto now ?? |
Tomorrow they're showing 'Getting Off'. Don't know the ep number though.
Crichton Kicks - May 10, 2004 06:37 PM (GMT)
Not bad.
4x16.
That's only 6 behind the States.
TV Yank - May 13, 2004 06:43 PM (GMT)
This upcoming Monday (May 17) CSI: Miami will travel to New York and, coincidentally, introduce the cast of CSI: New York, headed by Gary Sinise (!). Behind the scenes, it brings David Caruso back to New York where he spent time as a cop in NYPD BLUE.
(Did I need to mention that that's here in the U.S.?)
Crichton Kicks - May 13, 2004 07:14 PM (GMT)
Not just in the States John ;)
TV Yank - May 13, 2004 11:38 PM (GMT)
Have you already seen it, James?
Crichton Kicks - May 14, 2004 07:03 PM (GMT)
Not yet John. I'll get to see it roughly the same time as you guys over there :)
Although with some of the shows it's possible to get them the day before broadcast.

I have the Miami/New York pilot in my hands :)
Time to go watch some CSI ;)
TV Yank - May 17, 2004 06:48 PM (GMT)
I could make a joke based on an alternative interpretation of "I have the Miami/New York pilot in my hands" but I'll just register my "grrrr". I have to wait 10 whole hours to see my copy.
How long does it take you download a one-hour show via broadband? To do it by modem takes a day and a half.
Crichton Kicks - May 17, 2004 06:58 PM (GMT)
LOL
I think it best not to go down that route John. Suffice to say I should choose my words more carefully next time ;)
Downloading via b/b means I can pull an episode of in about 3 or 4 hours depending on whether or not it's a 350 or 450 MB file. Not too bad. This past weekend I've d/l most of Alias Season 3 for the other half. I remember when we used to have an ordinary modem it used to take me overnight to d/l an 80 MB file of some shows, the picture quality was nowhere near as good but I thought it was great at the time !! :)
The NY Pilot was pretty good. Horatio and Rick (Gary Sinise) worked very well, and they unsurprisingly made use of the NY scenery to the full with some sweeping visuals of the City and skyline. The story itself I guess was always going to be secondary however I found it to be quite entertaining. Won't spoil it for those about to watch :)
Suffice to say, GS looks like he'll do well in the role. Can't wait for the series proper now.
Season finales of both CSI and Miami next week to look forward to !!
TV Yank - May 18, 2004 02:55 PM (GMT)
Without spoiling--the episode was serviceable but not a gripping one. Gary Sinise and Melina Kanakaredes have such a keen, hard-edged quality about them that it's hard to believe neither are native New Yorkers. No doubt, the series will better bring out their best qualities. This episode barely grazed the surface of those talents.
Funny how the photography distinguished Miami from New York: Miami was bathed in bright sunlight and warm, lush colors, while New York was blue-gray and moody.

Going slightly away from the surrent season, has anyone picked up the new CSI PC game? I got the first one and loved it, and I picked up the second one last week (got it for £15 on a 2 for £30 offer :))
I've not played it yet - (saving it to take to Canada so Krystal and I can both play it), but had anyone else got it and willing to comment on it? :)

It was quite a stark contrast wasn't it ?? Nicely done, but they gave the impression that filming of the NY segments was done entirely around about 9am in the morning sometime in the Autumn :)
Crichton Kicks - May 18, 2004 05:30 PM (GMT)
I'd noticed the first one and considered getting it for Vic but ultimately didn't. There's a Law & Order one as well with Jerry Orbach doing the vocals.

Oh I know - got it already, plus I've got the second one for Krystal's birthday :)
Crichton Kicks - May 18, 2004 05:33 PM (GMT)
Should have known ;)
I've pretty much given up on buying any PC games now, besides the Championship Manager series. Can't be bothered upgrading the graphics card every 6 months :( I'm sticking with the PSX and GC for now, although CSI isn't available on either of those :(
melian - May 26, 2004 09:10 AM (GMT)
Did anyone see CSI last night? I totally forgot it was on and am in great need of someone to tell me what happened!!! Please, please, pretty please!!!!
Or a good CSI website that may have the transcripts.
goth willow fan - May 26, 2004 09:52 AM (GMT)
It was a pretty good one.
A man killed somebody in a casino when he was caught stealing their gambling chips.
He went ballistic when being questioned by the police and died of a heart attack oslt while they were restraining him.
Then Grissome and co went on to investigate his background and found a few other cases of deaths connected with him.
A lot more happened than this but I'm crap at synopsis'

Thanks Val, I'll check it out!
Psycho Jack - May 26, 2004 01:24 PM (GMT)
One of the more morally ambiguous ones last night, not to mention disturbing. Bloody good TV thought. :)
Not meaning to rub it in melian, but it was probably one of the best episodes of CSI I’ve seen yet.
melian - May 26, 2004 02:27 PM (GMT)
Cheers. Just make me feel better why don't you!! ;)
LoobiLou - May 26, 2004 06:05 PM (GMT)
This was the first episode i've seen in a verrrry long time (not my fault, stupid family <_< ) and sorry Melian...but it was great
Loved every minute of it, and Grissom, mmm... :D
melian - June 1, 2004 10:01 AM (GMT)
Must not forget this tonight!!!!
melian - June 2, 2004 01:29 PM (GMT)
Yey me!! I remembered this week!!
How weird to kill someone over the american version of scrabble!!
And that kid was just plain scary!!
goth willow fan - June 2, 2004 02:07 PM (GMT)
It wasn't as good as last weeks ;)
melian - June 2, 2004 02:16 PM (GMT)
Good to know. Cheers for that :P
Psycho Jack - June 2, 2004 02:25 PM (GMT)
Was it just me or had the DNA kid (Danny, is it?) changed his hair dramatically?
He looked very weird!
melian - June 2, 2004 02:28 PM (GMT)
Yeah. Greg's hair was much darker than it used to be!! He looked older somehow.
Psycho Jack - June 2, 2004 02:56 PM (GMT)
Oh yea, Greg . . . that’s it! Cheers! :)
LoobiLou - June 2, 2004 10:03 PM (GMT)
The kid really freaked me out...remind anyone of Damien??

Or that kid from that season 1 episode of Angel, I've Got You Under My Skin.
melian - June 23, 2004 04:11 PM (GMT)
Is it the CSI: Miami/CSI: NY crossover this saturday?
If not, it must be real soon. Anybody know?
Margot C - October 6, 2004 09:11 PM (GMT)
Looks like this thread hasn't been used in a long time....
Anyway, does anyone know when the new series will be shown over here? I missed the majority of the last season, because it clashed with Angel, and after a while I forgot to tape CSI.
Would someone like to fill me in on any major character-related happenings please? :)
Margot
goth willow fan - October 6, 2004 09:14 PM (GMT)
I expect the new series' of CSI to start on five when they have finished the current repeats, at least thats what's happened the last couple of years. And hopefully CSI:NY will debut as well
