Title: New Tv Show: Hawaii
Description: Reaction to first episode

TV Yank - September 5, 2004 09:48 PM (GMT)
I just saw the first episode of a crime drama set in Hawaii and it is imaginatively named HAWAII. It stars Michael ("Aliens") Biehn, Eric Balfour ("Jesse" of BUFFY), Ivan Sergei ("Jack and Jill", "The Opposite of Sex").

I couldn't watch the entire thing. The writing was incredibly puerile. Worse: it made Hawaii look ugly!

Eric Balfour appears in everything  I've seen him in Buffy, 24, Six Feet Under and The West Wing.

I saw the screener for this a few months back, it didn't exactly enthuse me I must admit. As far as showcasing the islands go, I prefer North Shore ;)

Oddly, my Brother loved Hawaii

We are convinced that Eric Balfour and Daniel Day Kim have a bet on to see who can appear on the most shows on tv

My money's on Daniel Dae Kim, although I guess he's tied down a bit now with his regular stint on LOST

Have you seen his filmography on IMDB.com? It includes multiple appearances on several tv series, including THE OC, as well as a regular role in the very short-lived VERITAS. A busy, busy man. (Daniel Dae Kim's filmography is pretty lengthy, too!).

You're odd brother? ;)

I d/l Veritas a while back. Still haven't gotten around to actually watching much of it though. It sounded a bit like Indiana Jones crossed with Tomb Raider. Not that that's leaving things wide open for disappointment or anything

If I recall, I didn't tune into VERITAS because there was something opposite it that I wanted to watch more. Before I knew it, it was gone from the airwaves. I did catch a couple moments (noticed Eric Balfour right off--it took a few moments to place him). What I saw didn't particularly grab me.

I watched about 10 minutes of the first episode and I was pretty much thinking the same thing John. It's tucked away for a rainy day, but it won't be anytime soon.
