Title: Crusade Dvd
Crichton Kicks - September 1, 2004 06:01 PM (GMT)
A region 1 release is rumoured before the end of the year, along with a standalone release of the final (for now) movie, Legend of the Rangers.
Interestingly, the commentaries for Crusade have been completed and JMS does feature. Given that he's always said he'd never do them unless he were allowed to tell the truth, this should prove to be quite, quite interesting ;)
Edit: Joe provides the commentary for The Needs of Earth, where he'll talk quite candidly about how the show was screwed. There's also a second commentary provided by Peter Woodward (Galen), Carrie Dobro (Dureena), the episode's writer Fiona Avery and Director Janet Greek on the episode The Well of Forever.

Although according to the man himself the R2 set will be worth getting ;)

They'll probably include the commentaries for In the Beginning and Thirdspace :)

Criptic comments made by JMS that the european Crusade release would be even more revealing about the problems.
Crichton Kicks - September 1, 2004 07:43 PM (GMT)
Can't wait for that Paul :)
Just hope he elaborates a bit on where the show would have gone. I've heard the direction in which the series would have gone when they released the Crusade bible a few years ago. Crusade could quite easily have taken off, given the time, and lack of interference

It saddens me to think how many shows that applies to :(

Decemer 7th, so sayeth

Crichton Kicks - September 4, 2004 04:42 PM (GMT)
Probably the New Year before we get it then
Like the artwork though.
jamiearmour - September 4, 2004 10:07 PM (GMT)
Well, if it's released in January, it's on my birthday list.
March, on my anniversary list
April, the Doc is getting it as a birthday present.
There, thats me validated the purchase beyond belief.
Crichton Kicks - September 4, 2004 10:12 PM (GMT)
Think I'll just go with the "It's B5, I'm getting it." justification
jamiearmour - September 4, 2004 10:39 PM (GMT)
So would I, but I know the Doc! He hated Crusade with a fiery passion. I need to validate the purchase to him. But of course if he objects, I do hold a trump card.
The house is in my name lol :ph43r: :lmao: :lmao:

seeing as season five of Babylon 5 has been put back to January, and the movies box-set has been put back until February. I would be very surprised if we saw Crusade before April/May in the UK .
Crichton Kicks - November 17, 2004 05:53 PM (GMT)
Yep, I'd agree with that. Although, if they go by the six month rule, it may be later than that before we get it :(
Phillip Culley - November 17, 2004 10:13 PM (GMT)
From what I've heard, we'll get Crusade in March.
Plus, I've heard the latest dates for Season 5 and the (substandard) movie set are January 17th and February 21st 2005.

I don't know when I'll get it but I think I'm going to go with the region 1 movies box-set as there's not a lot of difference in price. Also the chance to upgrade the gathering and in the beginning to 5.1 sound plus the audio commentary on both of them, making it a much nicer set than the inferior belated UK version.
I'll be surprised if we get them in March because they are not even available to pre-order from Play.com yet.
Crichton Kicks - November 18, 2004 07:17 PM (GMT)
I'll end up going with the Region 1 movies set for the same reason.
jamiearmour - December 6, 2004 04:20 PM (GMT)
I've just seen an advert for the region 1 release of Crusade on the back page of this weeks Marvel Comics :D
It's really coming.
They're really going to do it :D
Release the best half season of television ever made onto DVD <_< ;)

It's a real shame that Crusade didn't last another half season. It could have taken off. The next episode to have been aired would have been Crusade's equivalent to Signs & Portents :(

Plus, the R1 DVD sets are R2 enabled anyway, so there's no reason to worry about the substandard R2 set anyway :)

True, but neither's the Doctor Who DVD 'Horror of Fang Rock', and that's confirmed for release next month :)

Given that Season 5's not out for a while yet, we'll be lucky if we see them before Mid 2005 :(

Well, the dates I had came straight from the horses mouth as it were (and it seems that this time they're being serious about it :))

Then I'll happily concede the point Mr Culley ;)
Actually that works out rather well;
January - Movies Boxset
February - Season 5
March - Crusade
There's still the Legend of the Rangers movie to schedule yet as well. From a completist POV, that'll require purchasing as well
