Title: The Devil's Demon
Description: Shai'tan Comes Home

Aalaya - September 3, 2007 02:37 AM (GMT)
Legesain trotted into the familiar lands of his home. His family was not far behind him. His gaze searched the area to make sure no one else was around. Just as he had hoped a barren landscape was the only thing that greeted him. He was not ready to share his greatest treasure with the world just yet. The devil knew that Shai'tan was too small to be around others and it would be a little while until he could present the heir to the rest. A meeting in the caverns was already going through his mind. His gaze retraced his steps when he spotted a bantle that was the spitting image of him. The young prince was going to be like his father in more ways than one, the blood red brute would make sure his bloodline would exist for all eternity. A slight smile gracred his lips as he watched the young buck stumbling faithfully after the dark beauty. This was the perfect royal family. A seductress all wenches would be envious of. A heir that held great promise. Now all that was missing was a youn princess. But all would come in time. The demon could feel his smile grow slightly. How could it not? It seemed everything was just getting better. Soon the land of Dreams would be his, he will do what his mother couldn't. He will control all of the mortals.

Kasumi trailed slowly behind the crimson King. She kept a slow pace for Shai'tan. Every once in awhile she could feel the young colt drifting away from her so she'd call sharply to him. The tension left her body as soon as she entered her home land. She halted and let the colt walk ahead of her. Gently she nudged him toward Legesain, showing him his new home. The vixen's gaze fell across the barren land. She rather liked it like this. She was never social. So being Queen probably wasn't for her. But apparently Legesain didn't care about that.

Her gaze was now directed toward the King, her love. She was having doubts. Not about her love for him, but about being his mate. This seemed to unreal. It was so perfect. As perfect as perfect could be. It wasn't what she wanted. Perfect was so incredibly boring. And there was no way she was going to bare foals the rest of her life. She was still young. Her future shouldn't already be set in stone. Glancing away from him, she wasn't sure if her eyes were going to betray her. Show her inner turmoil.

The young foal pranced slowly near the banshee. His world had expanded quickly within the last hour. New sight and smells assualted him on his short journey. He couldn't help but feel compelled to wander closer to an especially interesting object every now and then. However, his dam's quick call drove him back to her within a few seconds. Up ahead his sire marked their pathway, checking for predators that might be wandering about. But the colt couldn't help but feel his mother's anxiousness. It made him a little on edge as well. His ears pricked up as his gaze wandered constantly from the czarina to the scenery. Finally the air of tension seemed to dissipate as they entered a new terra. The terrain had became darker and more decayed. Judging by the way his parents were acting, he was home. He snorted loudly, it was much different here then the foaling fields. His inquistive orbs searched his new surroundings. Wary, he tucked closer to his protector's side.

The brute's flag slapped against his pelt in boredom. There was no one around in his land. It all seemed so dull. Legesain normally enjoyed his seclusion, but no to this point. A slight smirk slowly grew upon his librims as he watched his young offspring shy away from his home. His smirk died on his amused lips when the thoughts of another crossed his mind. Expressionless, his gaze focused on Kasumi. Her doubts had etched themselves momentarily within his own mind. It was enough for him to guess what his mate was feeling. Saying nothing, the czar returned his gaze to his heir. There was nothing to say after all. Kasumi may be unhappy but she was queen after all. Something that was beyond her power to choose. Legesain anger was killed as he watched the blood red bantle. Kasumi had fufilled her duty, she was free to do as she wished. The king would not hold her down and force her to the royal lifestyle and produce foals the rest of her days. However, the young stag wondered slightly if it was time to collect femmes for himself. Perhaps spread his lines further out. Not that he didn't love Kasumi. But this wasn't about that, it was about the survival of his name.

Kasumi - October 25, 2007 02:23 AM (GMT)
Kasumi could feel the heavy gaze of Legesain. Guilt was eating away at her. Maybe her future was already set for her. Her only use was for baring foals. But surely Legesain was happy with his heir now, wasn't he? Shai'tan would be a fine stallion when he grew up. She turned to catch Legesain's orbs just as he was looking away. She kept her vision steadily on him. There was still so much she didn't know about him. So much he kept hidden. She knew better than to ask him. He would never tell her. No matter how close they were, some secrets were meant to be kept hidden.

Which is why she'd never admit her thoughts of the Dark God. Legesain's true enemy. As long as it never escalated further than attraction, right? She had nothing to worry about. Her gaze fell on the bantle once more. She extended her muzzle and nipped at his puffy mane in an affectionate manner.

Legesain watched his mate for a moment. She seemed to be acting different, like something was wrong. Should he trust her? Legesain had never thought of not trusting the one he loved. But now there was so much to lose. An heir, a title, a war. He couldn't afford to let his guard down anymore, even with Kasumi. And there was this nagging feeling. And the answer was right there. Taunting him with the painful and cold truth. All he had to do was read her thoughts. Every secret, desire, and fear would be known to him. Legesain was the dark king but even that felt wrong to him. Still, he felt his gaze wander back to her, his power reaching out. She wouldn't even have to know, whatever he saw could be kept secret at least until things were safer. Legesain took a step closer as curiousity played temptingly with his mind. His hooves drew to a stop, her mind was right there all he had to do was reach out.

Legesain tossed his cran, mentally shaking himself. It was wrong. What could possibly bring him to this? Anything that was going on would only hurt him if he knew about it. Even if it was just a silly thought, it would never be just a silly thought. It would be a feeling and a seed of doubt would be planted. Nothing would ever take it back. The stag turned west, towards the setting sun. He had matters to attend to. Without a word he began to trot down the grass knoll, pausing near the bottom he turned back to his queen.

"Times are getting dangerous. I have a mare in the herd that I have asked to watch over you and Shai'tan."

With that and a lingering gaze the prince turned and galloped off. He would return later to check on his family.

The young foal swayed slightly on his new legs as he rested a moment beside his dam. It had been a long journey for him. His attention was drawn back to his family when he felt a soft nip. Vocals created a small whinny as he turned to face his dam. He snorted and tossed his cran towards her. Movement caught his eye as his sire turned away. Was the journey not over? Snorting the foal trotted after the stallion for a few moments. He halted when he realized his dam had not moved. His gaze followed the buck as he moved into a gallop over the clearing. The bantle turned and walked back towards his dam. He laid down on the dying grass, eager for a quick nap after the day's activites.
