This site is based off the Dragonriders of Pern © Anne McCaffrey. Based upon the people and world of Pern, this is an alternate reality and world. It will still have all the customs and traditions that are part of the world of Pern,Holders, Riders, and Craftsmen. But within this world of Pern, dragons have evolved in colors and size. Thread still haunts the skies, threatening the world with desruction. Dragons still fly to shear this menace that is as old as the world itself.

Dragon Colors & Rank:
Ebony Queens (
Female Riders): Largest of the dragons within Pern, and the largest of the female in colors. As is said for their name they only come in one shade of color and that is a brilliant ebony like that of polished stone. As much as they take on the same responsibilities as the Golden Queens there are rarely any Ebonies in a clutch. For this fact an Ebony is in fact a Golden Queen with their color pigment a blend of all the other colors causing them to be black in skin tone. They do in fact lay clutches but they are small and mostly made of ten eggs. Once they rise for the first time, from there on out they will rise once every three Turns. Due to other mutations and that fact that Ebonies lay small clutches they can actually chew fire-stone and not be affected by infertility. A fully mature Ebony is around three Turns of age and a ready to mate Ebony is around three Turns of age. From nose tip to tail tip a Ebony can measure up to forty-two to forty-eight meters long. (Ebonies are more classified as Queens, only reason for Ebony is their skin tone.)
Gold Queens (
Female Riders): Second of the dragons within Pern, and the second largest female in the colors. Their skin can come to any shades of gold from yellow-green, to the splendid gold like precious metal. Queens control all the other colors not only for their size but because of how strong minded a Queen is. They help with keeping order within the Weyr when there is Thread or not. To check up on all dragons and check up with all the humans that live within the Weyr. They do not produce flame like the other colors for chewing firestone will make a Queen unfertile to produce any clutches. Queens will rise to mate two to three times a year, and producing a clutch of ten to forty-eight eggs at a time. A fully mature Queen is around three Turns of age and ready to mate Queen is around three Turns of age. From nose tip to tail tip a Queen can measure up to thirty-eight to forty-two meters long.
Silvers (
Male Riders): Third largest of the dragons of Pern, and the largest male in colors. Like the Ebonies, the Silvers are just a Bronze dragon with their color pigments changed from all the others. Silvers come from many shades from pure Sterling Silver to dark Chrome. They have the same characteristics and responsibilities of the Bronze, but are very rare like their female cousin the Ebony. When a Silver mates they produce small clutches but there is always a promise of many bronzes and browns. A fully mature and ready to mate Silver at earliest age is at one Turn of age. From nose tip to tail tip Silvers can measure up to thirty-eight to forty-two meters. (Silvers are more classified as Bronzes, only reason for Silver is their skin tone.)
Bronze (
Male Riders): Fourth largest of the dragons of Pern, and the second largest male in colors. Their skin like the Queens can vary in skin tones of bronze from true bronze to brown-bronze. Most Bronze become either Weyrleaders or Wingleaders for the Weyr or Fighting Wings. They are the leaders of the other fighting dragons and help keep order within a Weyr both in times of Thread or in Times of Peace. Bronze dragons are usually the dragons to fly the Queens. Producing large clutches along with a Golden egg. A fully mature and ready to mate Bronze at the earliest age is at one Turn of age. From nose tip to tail tip a Bronze can measure up to thirty-five to thirty-eight meters long.
Copper (
Male Riders): Fifth largest of the dragons of Pern, and the third largest male in colors. Like both Ebonies and Silvers, Coppers are just a large Brown dragon with their color pigments changed from the others. Coppers are just as their names say, copper. They is no other shade to these dragons. Like their oddly colored cousins, they can take on the responsibilities and characteristics of Browns. And like the others they are rare, they never seem to want to rise to catch a queen but are eager when a Green comes into heat. A fully mature and ready to mate Copper at earliest age of one Turn. From nose tip to tail tip a Copper can measure up to thirty-three to thirty-five meters long. (Coppers are more classified as Browns, only reason for Copper is their skin tone.)
Brown (
Male Riders): Sixth largest of the dragons of Pern, and the fourth largest male in colors. Brown skin that can vary from dark chocolate (brown/black) to light milk chocolate brown. Browns can fly the queens but the clutches are smaller and there is never a Golden egg in the clutch. Most Browns become either Wingleaders or Wingseconds in a Fighting Wings. Browns they are fully mature and ready to mate at earliest age of one Turn. From nose tip to tail tip a Brown can measure up to thirty to thirty-five meters long.
Blue (
Male Riders): Seventh largest of the dragons of Pern, and the smallest male in colors. Blue skin that can vary from navy blue (blue/black) to very light sky blue. Blues usually just fly the greens as they are two small and slow to catch the Queens, and will more then likely not produce a clutch at all. Though blue are more agile then their large male kin, they help out when thread is in the sky by catching stray clumps. When there are eggs on the hatching grounds, Blues are extremely sensitive at this time and can pick out the best candidates for the soon to be hatched dragonets.Blues are fully mature and ready to mate at earliest age of one year. From nose tip to tail tip a Blue can measure up to twenty-five to thirty meters long.
Green (
Female/Male Riders): Eighth largest of the dragons of Pern, second smallest of both male and female. Green skin that can vary from emerald green ( green/black) to a very light grass green. Greens are unable to produce a clutch, not only because of how they were created but for the few other facts that they go into heat more often then a Queen does, and they also chew firestone to produce flame. A Green can be known to go in heat at around one turn of age and rise to mate about four to five times a turn. Very agile dragons but also very reckless as they tend to take risky chances that the other larger colors would not dare do. From nose tip to tail tip a Green can measure up to twenty to twenty-five meters long.
Crimson (
Female Riders): Ninth largest of the dragons of Pern, third smallest of both male and female. Crimsons are rare due to the fact no one understands why the pigment colors come out as they do. They can be of both gender or even neutered. So it's a guessing game if there will ever be a crimson in a clutch or even what gender they may be. A fully mature Crimson is around one Turn of age, even rising in heat. But will not lay a clutch due to natural infertility, not from chewing fire-stone. From nose tip to tail a Crimsons can measure up to twenty to twenty-four meters long.
White/Albino (
Female/Male Riders): Smallest of the dragons of Pern, both male and female. An albino dragon is the smallest of all colors, they are the runts of the clutch. Their skin tone is white due to the fact that their skin pigments failed to produce a color of any type. As a genetic throw back Albinos are the rarest color ever. For most die before even hatching. But when one does hatch they are small, even at full maturity they seem neutered, as well as genderless. An Albino is fully mature at the age of two years of age. From nose tip to tail tip a Albino can measure up to ten to fifteen meters long.
