Okay,

Now I have mentioned time and time again about permission to us any art that does not belong to you. And right now I am very mad, I could go into full detail of how much I am not happy. But there is no point and it's a waste of breath. K'seyr from Evergen as everyone knows has draw pixels for their Weyr. Whether it be simple silly ones made up when she got the idea or ones personally made for others of that Weyr. I have currently read her journal right now saying that she is nowhere near happy that her pixels are being used without her permission. She even stated that she would have been fine if those that used it just ASKED! Our Weyr was mentioned in that journal. And I'm not happy to see our Weyr mentioned for something that involves common sense, or negative. Even mentioned was "A certain Weyr using a certain Blue Dragon pixel."

I'm not dumb and I do not believe anyone here is dumb. But I have noticed "a certain Blue Dragon pixel." That popped up here on Crescent. And I've seen many others using that same pixel. Now if you seriously did not get permission from K'seyr to not only use it but alter it. Take it down now! Or I will personally do so. I do not want to make signatures unavailable only because of a certain few have broken any rules.

Art use is a RULE! Rules Please, I put these up so people understand the rules and to know if your getting in trouble for breaking any then here is where you can read and see why I or Akalla are not at all pleased.

There so people understand why I am so mad. And yes I will ban up to your IP address. I am serious. This is not something as an artist myself that I will take lightly. So if your using any icon even if it's so simple anyone can do it, and it is not your's or given permission I'm giving till Saturday for everyone to take them off or I will go hunting the original owner and notifying them as well as taking it down till they tell me personally "Yes, I have given them permission to us this art/pixel"

And I will not take any excuses. Not even "I did not read this" I have posted it up on the News Bar and here. and if that is not enough for everyone to read. Then I will just completely lock up the signatures.

i have been given the permission to use the small dragon pixels in my signature by k'seyr herself

Bloodofthebeast pixeled the little dragon in my siggy and I have her permission to use it.

I got mine from Bloodofthebeast.

I just looked through the entire gallery at K'seyr's linked deviantART page from her profile at Evergen, and I didn't see anything there that looked like anything the users here have in their signatures. Are you positive the "certain Blue Dragon pixel" she is referring to is the one that is now here? I am not a member of Evergen, so I can't see if it originated in the same kind of art forum that we have here, of course.

Why don't you just ask the person that put the one here up to share in the art forum about it directly? That way either they can take care of the fixing things, or the misunderstanding can be cleared up.

I saw Kaiser's journal and it startled me to see Crescent's name in the list :(

and for those who now might be worried about the pixel dragon's bloodofthebeast has made, her's are safe, KankaKanka over on deviantART made a few templates for people to use for themselves to make the little pixel arts, and so those are safe, I'm guessing as long as bloodofthebeast doesn't mind people using them ^_^

Phoenixdaisy: the certain pixeled blue dragon that's mentioned, I do believe that is Kaiser's, I recognize the style, I checked her deviantART page, and I don't think it's there, so I believe it's probably on Evergen someplace (I'm not really a member there so I'm not completely sure) it's probably been made for someone there. I figured permission had been asked, so I didn't give it much thought until I saw her latest journal and then this news message.

Pheonixdaisy: It is Kaiser's/ K'seyr's. On Evergen they have a code that allows them to "trade marks" and for a certain amount of marks she would make certain icons, signatures or the like. One of the memebers on Evergen asked for a Custom signature that linked to her characters, Da, and had an icon of her character and her Blue dragon. Which is the one used for "Chicks Ridin' Blues".


Again I do not know if permission was given to use and alter that picture. That is why I posted this journal. Artist can easily get pissy about anything withtheir art =/ Even if they said anyone can use it. But not mention that only those of so and so can use it. Either way all I'm asking if you do know you did not get permission from Kaiser/K'seyr to use certain pixels please do not. That is all really. I know I exploded but to be truthful. It was souly to the fact I saw Crescent's name on the journal. I was seriously upset to see anything negative about our Weyr.

Not because it will probably stop the number of members. I'm not at all worried about that. I just do not like hearing bad mouthing about the Weyr. Especially when something like that she could have Emailed me about instead of ranting on her page which we can clearly see she is highly watched. And those people who do not know what are happening with only get half the story and assume. Which leads to others bad mouthing for no reason =/

Personally I think she should have emailed me. I have my email out for anyone to see here on Crescent as well as Evergen. As well as my MSN SN if anyone wanted to IM me. I PMed her the mintue I saw that journal on DA I do not know if she reads her notes there or not. But I have notify her on the subject of the Blue Dragon pixel as well as apologizing if we are the Weyr she is talking about. Things like this are not mature to talk about in the open. I only put it up here in the news because it dealt with the Weyr and as such everyone in the Weyr has a right to know about it.

The icons now in my sigs are modified versions of the icons found on Kankakanka's DA page... I hope that's okay.

As long the original owner said it was okay for you to modify them. Which ever. Just as long as due credit is given and any ownership is asked.

I've had personal permission from KankaKanka to use her templates for my sig pixels and such.

Just clearing that.

Damn well I'm glad I don't like to use things even with permission I feel bad T,T although I love the pixel thingies you did of two of my dragons Blood *hug* but still I hate when Art theft attacks =/ I hope things can be cleared...T_T...

Okay, just wanted to make sure. Like I said, I'm not a member of Evergen, so I could only check Kaiser's devART for reference. It's a shame, hopefully a different button can be made to replace it with all artists permissions.

This whole thing is completely and utterly my fault.

First off, I want to appologize to the entire Weyr for dirtying its reputation. I made a stupid mistake.

Second, an explanation is in order. I was given permission to use the pixel blue dragon by the member it was made for, and not K'seyr herself. This was a lack of consideration on my part, and I fully understand the reactions of K'seyr herself and the Admins here at Crescent.

It is with this understanding I appologize and am ready for whatever repercussions I deserve for my actions.

I'll make one for our club thing, then. Maybe not pixeled, but it will be my own art, and any with a girl riding a blue may use it.

I know I haven't posted here in *ages* but I thought I'd add that all the Pern images I've made, with the exception of my personal characters, are free for use on forum boards. I have a stack of them on DA right now, and while they're not great compared to the gorgeous pixels around, some people have been using them in character posts: That's what they were designed for, and everyone who is using them is doing so with my full permission.
