Title: Crescent Weyr
Description: Basic Information of the Weyr

Akalla - June 24, 2007 07:36 AM (GMT)
Crescent Weyr is set in the 6th Pass of the Red Star.

The Current Weyrleaders:

Weyrleader Q'eya Silver-rider of Ozarth
Weyrwoman Asha Ebonyrider of Yukarneth

Almost over two Turns ago the Weyr was without both Weyrleaders, the Weyrleader died between when both he and his dragon were caught in a very large clump of Thread. After laying her clutch the Queen and Weyrwoman flew between, both of old age and of heartbreak for the late Weyrleader. Leaving the friend of both Weyrleaders to help control the Weyr and with the help of the other Bronze riders.

Upon the hatching of the last Queen's clutch were born three Queens. Golden Kenseth, Golden Kellenth, and to the surprise Ebony Yukarneth. The Ebony Queen was not the only surprise for the Weyr held three other colors that Pern have never seen. The other colors were Silver males, Copper males, and Crimson males or females. Wary of these new colors the Weyr did not know how to treat them until the Weyrleaders were picked, and in so picked by tradition. The first Queen to rise would be the new Weyrwoman. And the Dragon who caught and flew her would be the new Weyrleader. A Turn came and went all the Dragons healthy and almost fully grown. Yukarneth the Ebony Queen and the largest Queen on Pern rose first into a mating flight. She was caught by the Queen sized Silver Xanryth, estabilshing R'thall and Asha as the new Weyrleaders.

Yukarneth clutched only ten eggs, but graced the Weyr with a Golden Queen, Golden Yueth. Soon after Golden Kellenth rose to mate as well, being caught by Bronze Rodonth. Kellenth clutched fifteen eggs, two of which were Golen Queens, Golden Oriath, and Golden Presath. The last fully grown Queen Kenseth rose to mate as well being caught by Bronze Wiketh. Kenseth clutched an amazing thirty-six eggs, one of which was a Queen and the second Ebony of pern, Ebony Sienath.

Not only did the Weyr have more of the newer colors, but other Weyrs of the Northern continent were also finding the colors gracing their Weyr's from current hatchings. But still Pern only held two Ebonies and those two lived in Crescent. Another odd thing was that Blues were picking females as commonly as the Greens picked males. Not questioning the choice of the Dragons the Weyr was happy to see the bonds made and the pairs happy together. A shock to the Weyr came on the day the Weyr experienced their heaviest fall ever, with lack of flame and Dragons, Ebony Yukarneth rose and showed the Weyr that she could also flame besides clutching. In disbelief many of the Dragons and Riders snapped questions to the pair who did not back down from their choice. Shaken the Weyr did not know if she could clutch again, or if the second Ebony would try to follow her Senior's antics. Even with the thought of the other Golden Queens, the Weyr was still on thin ice.

Spring has arrived to the Weyr and the Weyrlings almost half was through their lessons, the Dragons half way towards being fully grown. With the air warming and the days brighter Golden Kellenth has once again risen to mate, to be caught by Blue Zelanth.

Crescent Weyr has approximately 628 rider's weyrs, with 330 full. This Pass has taken a heavy toll on all the Weyrs, Thread coming in thicker and in large clumps caught all the Weyrs off guard. Though the numbers are slowly growing back to a full Weyr. Crescent has running water for baths and latrines, unlike some of the other Weyrs that came later.

The weather around Crescent Weyr is very warm. In spring it is beautiful, summers annoyingly hot and sticky, autumn is mildly hot and very breezy, winter is very harsh cold, with harsh winds and storms. Sometimes even thick snow.

Crescent Weyr is located North of Half Circle Sea Hold Found in a mountain crater that formed a perfect sphere, with the mountain making a crescent shape rim.
