CHARACTER INFO
Character name: Mia Dubois
Nicknames: None
Character age:18
Birthdate:May 1st, 1989
Gender:Female
Lycan Species:Leopard
Level:Submissive
Strengths:She's a trained first aid person, knows the English language back to front practically, she's good at telling stories and also at navigating and tracking as she was a guide in the forests near where she grew up before she was infected.
Weaknesses She's only been a wereleopard since she was 16, and still can't control herself properly around things like fresh blood, because she had no one to teach her when she was in Washington. She's not much of a driver and isn't spectacular at defending herself, either.

After she shifts back into human form it's more common than not for her to be dead to the world for some time, even when people try to wake her up. This leaves her vulnerable too attack. She tries to change back somewhere safe, but can't always help where she wakes up, once she woke up almost a day later, soaking wet from the rain and covered in mud.
Weapons carried on person:She doesn't carry any.

Hair colour/style:Long brown hair, with a slight wave.

Physical description: Mia likes to dress in simple, usually understated clothes and they are very rarely revealing. She's five foot eight inches tall, and doesn't wear heels. She also doesn't wear much make up, mostly just lip gloss and a touch of concealer if needed. She has a small scar on her right hip where she got shot one night by a "well meaning" farmer who saw her in her leopard form. She recovered, but the bullet was silver and did leave a scar. She's somewhat athletically built, but not so much it's instantly noticeable.

When she's shifted shes a moderately large regular leopard with a lightly golden coat and rosettes over her fur. The only big difference is her eyes are a more rich yellow green than most.

Likes:Good books, the forest, rainbows, Duck a'la orange, hiking, running, computers, jazz, the piano (which she can play a little).
Dislikes:Impatient people, being forced to change form, being out where she can be noticed, she tries to keep to the shadows and to herself.
Fears:Hurting people, loosing what little control she has over her beast, learning to become one with her beast because she thinks it makes her something bad.
Nervous habits: She chews on pens and pencils, taps her fingers as if she was playing the piano one handed, twirls her hair around her finger.

Personality description: Mia has a good temper, not getting too on edge without a lot of pushing, she's fairly quiet, not necessarily shy but tries to stay out of sight out of mind when she can. She's always been somewhat liberal and supported the rights of the Vampires and Were's, until she got attacked by one and shapeshifted on the next full moon. Now she's not so sure where she stands, being more ashamed of her beast than proud of it, even afraid of it, because she knows she enjoys hunting and letting it out, but isn't willing to let herself except when she can't help it. She tries to help people out as best she can if they come to her, but is more submissive than dominant in the few times she had met others of her kind, because there weren't a lot where she lived. She submissive partly because she's afraid, since she was attacked and isn't nearly over it yet.

Take me home to meet mom and dad:
Parents: Maria Brown and Adam Dubois
Siblings: A little brother, Joseph. He's 15.
Children:N/A

History: Mia was born two weeks early to her parents in Washington State. She spent her early childhood running around their small farm and helping her mother in the vegetable garden, which she came to love dearly. Her father has a small herd of cattle and when she was three she used to like to go on the horses with him and help him round them up with the dogs.

At age four her mother started homeschooling her with basic things such as reading and some really basic math. She wasn't good at the math, but the reading was a big hit and she got decently good at it long before she was enrolled in school in Washington (they lived ten miles out). She was a bit of a know-it-all in school, and had a few friends, which is what she preferred anyway. She liked to English and cooking most of all, science and history close in second place.

High school was much the same, but her father started teaching her how to be a guide in the forest, how to track, what was edible and what wasn't, all sorts of handy survival things and it inspired her to get a summer job working as a guide to tourists. She loved that job dearly, and on occasion helped find people who got lost.

She didn't date much, having only had two boyfriends, she broke up with the last one when she found out what she was, not wanting to hurt him by accident.

She was attacked when coming home from a hike in the forest one evening, it was the day before the full moon and a young wereleopard who was passing through nearly ate her, but got distracted when a farmer somewhere fired a shot into the air. They never caught the leopard.

When she started having really bad urges in school she dropped out and worked for the library in Washington for a while, just recently she moved to Miami for a change of pace, and to get away from her little brother because he had the very bad timing to annoying her when she was most volatile, before/on full moons.

Writing Sample: The darkness was seeping in from the east as a young woman stared out of her window, watching the tiny white puffs that people around here called clouds change colours as the sun began to sink to it's rest for the night. She was on the third story in the apartment building, in her small apartment. There were no lights on inside, and it really was dark in there, but when she tore her eyes away from the window she could still see as well inside as she could when she looked out near the setting sun.

A convenience, she thought, to be able to see in the dark. Sighing audibly the girl shoved the curtains closed before deciding to put the lights on, lest the neighbors wonder why she never seemed to need them. This is why she bothered. She didn't think her neighbors would appreciate a wereleopard living right next to them. In the clubs down town werecreatures were swooned after, but living near them? She knew that would be much too close for comfort, to most. She didn't blame anyone for that fear, though.

The TV in the place next door was on, she could pick up what the kid was watching, some horror movie - she'd never liked them much growing up. Mia shook her head slightly, before some woman screamed in the movie. She flinched slightly. A flash of her mother finding her half transformed back in her old room ran through her head. She shuddered and put the chain into it's slot. It wasn't that she thought the bogeymen were after her, and most things that normal 18 year olds living on their own worry about she could scare more than they scared her. But still, she worried. She had applied for the apartment two months ago, but only a week ago, before she moved in she had gathered up the courage to talk to the local pard. She knew it was highly unlikely any of them would randomly show up at her apartment, and if they did... well doors were no issue for the few shifters she knew back home... though none of them had even a passing interest in her, but then, there was no hierarchy back in Washington, at least, not were she was. She wouldn't have the faintest clue what to say. With a swift flick of the switch the lights in the lounge room came on, and she blinked at the sudden light as it surprised her eyes, so used to the dark. Her beast growled within her slightly, but she shook her head slightly and to herself said 'Hush. I'll make dinner soon.'

She was glad her parents agreed to help pay for her groceries, she ate much more food now than she cared to admit. Silly curse.
And the rest:
Anything else? If somethings wrong I'm willing to change it :)
