CHARACTER INFOCharacter name: Eve Baptiste
Nicknames: Formerly known as Sascha and Caprice.
Character age: 303
Birthdate: ??/??/1705
Gender: Female
Bloodline: The Queen of Nightmares
Level: Vampire
Strengths: Eve has all of the 'standard' powers a vamp should have, but as a member of The Queen of Nightmares bloodline she has some additional abilities.
I:
Projecting/Altering Dreams: Eve has the ability to project or alter dreams. She projects nightmares that are often so real they can result in death, madness, and/or suicide of the victim. On the other side of the coin, Eve can also project seductive or peaceful dreams.
II:
Invading Day Dreams: Eve can also project illusions while her victim is awake. She does not require eye contact for this power.
III:
Altering Time: Eve can alter time perception in dreams to make a minute seem like a month, but this requires all of her attention and power.
IV: The first time Eve uses her powers on a victim it opens a gate of control-- the next time she uses her powers on that particular victim it will be harder to repel her. This includes master vampires and alphas.
V: Eve can use her powers while feeding, and often leaves her human and shifter donors with pleasing reoccurring dreams about her.
Weaknesses: Eve has all of the standard vampire weaknesses and a few more unique to The Queen’s bloodline.
I: Most of Eve’s powers can be dulled with strong mental defenses, but it takes someone of master level status (or alpha) to completely repel her. Once a vampire makes contact with their master Eve’s powers are cut, and she is forced to slip out. (Same goes for shifters with their alpha’s.)
II: Eve often chooses to project her nightmares from a far, far, distance. This is because she is extremely vulnerable while using this power.
III: After using her powers, Eve must adequately feed and rest.
IV: Eve can invade the dreams of a master level vampire or alpha who cannot repel her for whatever reason, but only for thirty minutes, where as she can use her ability non stop for two hours with any other creature. Eve has not used her abilities for more than two hours because she fears the repercussions.
V: If she isn’t careful Eve can experience a ‘whiplash’ from her dream invading abilities, where she is put in the place of her victim and tortures herself in her own hellish projections. Eve has experienced this once after being expelled by her former master, and she fears it.
VI: Regardless of how careful she is Eve sometimes is bombarded with nightmares that are not her own. She is also prone to headaches, and when suffering from an especially bad migraine bleeds from her ears.
VII: Eve is a strong vampire but lacks ambition. She would much rather play and fuck, and let others handle the tough work.
Weapons carried on person: Eve does not see the point of carrying a weapon.
Tell me about yourselfHair colour/style: Brunette.
Eye colour: Honey. (emerald green when using powers)
Portrayal: Josie Maran.
Picture:
Physical description: Eve is a petite woman with soft olive skin and long auburn locks that touch the middle of her back. Eve does not have the ‘dead-like’ white coloring of her fellow vampires. She has a warm glow about her, and can even fake human coloring. (IE: blushing). She has expressive honey colored eyes that are complimented with long lacy lashes. Her face is gorgeous and ethnically unidentifiable, but her coloring often makes others think she has French blood. Eve’s clothing used to reflect the era she was born in, but due to sudden freedom, her personal sense of style has changed dramatically. Now she is more of a modern ‘woman’ and likes to keep up with the latest trends. If she is under distress or nervous about something Eve’s clothing will be less fashion friendly, but once this emotion passes she will change.
Likes: Eve enjoys her solitude and often spends hours reflecting to herself or jotting down thoughts in her journal. She likes sex. She likes tasting wine, although she cannot get drunk. Eve LOVES to use her powers during sex. She is an avid reader who cannot live without her favorite books. Did I mention Eve likes s-e-x?
Dislikes: Eve has come to enjoy her own ‘reality’ -- the world she creates using her powers. So she dislikes actual physical confrontation of any kind unless it is sex. She hates using her powers to harm others, but not if they harmed her first. Oh and she hates cats (not shifters, actual cats).
Fears: Eve fears her powers because she knows that they can lead to madness. She also fears that she will be taken in by another cruel master, so she chooses to remain a rogue vampire for the time being.
Nervous habits: When she is truly unnerved the color will drain out of her face and her fangs bulge in her mouth. Eve also speaks in her native Russian tongue or with a heavy accent when distressed or angry.
Personality description: Since she loved her first master Ekaterina so dearly, Eve has decided that she will not devote herself completely to anyone or anything else. Eve has an apathetic approach to life, and would much rather read books and slum around than actually ‘work’. She doesn’t care for merits and doesn’t see the point in making friends when she’s perfectly happy with fuck buddies. If there’s something that absolutely HAS to be done Eve will try to find a way around it until the last possible moment. You don’t want to see Eve when she’s angry, so be happy when she doesn’t give a damn.
Take me home to meet mom and dad:Parents: Unknown -- Deceased.
Siblings: Unknown -- Deceased.
Children: Svetlana Papanov -- Deceased.
History: Eve does not remember where or particularly when she was born. She does, however, remember the day she died. It was like a dream. She was a woman of twenty three years walking through a field of snow. The snow was cold and rigid, and she knew this, but her body was soft and warm, almost as if she was wrapped in an invisible blanket she couldn‘t touch. A beautiful woman with red hair long enough to touch the snow and emeralds instead of eyes walked in the distance. The woman wore a long white coat laced with what looked like wolf fur, and if not for the red locks and emeralds she would have been completely invisible. Eve stood still as the tall goddess-like woman seemed to magically appear before her. The woman thoroughly gazed the length of Eve’s body and her plump red lips curled in a lazy grin.
Up close the woman was even more beautiful than Eve thought she‘d be. In fact, Eve decided in that moment that she wanted to love this woman for the rest of her life. It wasn’t until much later that Eve realized this thought and emotion wasn’t her own. The woman leaned forward and gave Eve a warm kiss on the cheek, and then Eve slowly began to sink deep in the snow that had been colored red by her own blood. Days later Eve woke in a castle far away from that field of snow, and she heard that woman’s voice in her head. She had become a vampire and the woman was her master.
Eve’s name was changed to Sascha, and she learned that her master’s name was Ekaterina. Ekaterina had been sired in by an even more powerful vampire, whose name was never uttered for unknown reasons, but she was referred to as “The Queen of Nightmares“. Eve spent the first few years of her life under Ekaterina’s delicate wings and loved her master immensely. She had no problem with becoming a vampire because she remembered nothing of her life before it. When Eve asked Ekaterina who she had been before she died, Ekaterina told her that it was irrelevant. So Eve shrugged her shoulders and moved on. There was nothing she could do about it, and she enjoyed her life in the large secluded castle.
The vampire’s in Ekaterina’s kiss were well taken care of. The castle where they lived always had attractive food, games to play, visiting shifters looking for shelter, and lessons. Eve loved the lessons. She loved speaking different tongues, reading poetry, and studying art. Occasionally, Ekaterina would let her children roam the towns that were miles away from the castle and they would feast, ravage, and steal. Eve never participated in the ’feasting’ but she never made an effort to stop it either. She simply saw it as pointless violence.
Eve bonded with four other vampire’s in the kiss, but her one true love was Ekaterina. The two became a couple and it often made the other’s in the kiss jealous of Eve. On the morning of Eve’s fortieth birthday, an angry mob stormed the castle and burned it to the ground. Since she shared a coffin with her master, and it was deeper in the castle than those of her fellow vampire‘s, Eve was sparred. One other vampire survived the attack, Vladimir. Eve had never been fond of Vlad. She thought he was a sadistic bastard who got off by torturing his food, but she had to befriend him.
A powerful master level vampire named “Andrei” came to collect Ekaterina. He was a representative from The Vampire Council. Eve would later learn that this was a group of the oldest and wisest vampire’s in the world. The Queen of Nightmares, the mother of the bloodline Eve had become apart of, had never bothered to speak to Eve directly -- she was too low on the totem pole-- but Eve knew that Ekaterina’s sire was very angry with her. Fearing that her master would be killed, Eve insisted that she and Vlad come along for the trip. Ekaterina did not like this, but Andrei allowed it. He even offered Eve and Vlad a place to stay in his kiss. Eve’s initial feeling had been right on the money. Ekaterina was punished severely for her disobedience but was not killed. Vlad and Eve were punished as well but not by the council. The vampire’s in Andrei’s kiss saw to their torture. Eve and Vlad were brutally punished and treated as slaves until Ekaterina was set free from her imprisonment.
The three traveled to a secluded area in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, where Ekaterina became a Master again. Vladimir had the ability to steal other vampire powers, and Ekaterina had all the abilities of a Master, as well as the ability to invade dreams, alter memories, and create illusions. Eve’s powers began to slowly but surely grow, and for a long time it was just Vlad, Eve, and Ekaterina in their small kingdom that overlooked several towns.
Then Andrei sent a lengthy letter. He extended an invitation to Eve. He wanted to take her away from Ekaterina. Eve feared Andrei because of the horrors she had suffered at the hands of his kiss. However, Andrei had information he thought to be invaluable to Eve. He knew that Ekaterina had maliciously altered Eve’s memories so she would not remember who she was. This bothered Eve because she had learned of the power of The Queen’s bloodline. She asked Ekaterina about it, and Kat was honest with her.
Eighty long years had passed since the woman known as Sacha Papanov had died and became a vampire. Papanov was a very common Russian name so Eve could not trace it. Ekaterina did not remember the first name’s of Eve’s parent’s or siblings, but she knew that Eve had a daughter named Svetlana. Kat knew this because a hunter by that name had come to the castle years before looking for the monster that used to be her mother. Ekaterina had come to love Eve dearly, so she turned Svetlana away safely, and altered the girl’s memory so she wouldn’t come looking again. Eve quickly forgave Kat for not telling her this, and even thanked her for changing her memories. If Eve knew she had a daughter she probably would have gone back home and tried to take the girl with her.
When Andrei came for Eve, Kat defended her lover. Unfortunately Andrei was much stronger than Kat and he killed her. Vladimir was believed to be killed as well, and Eve was forced to join Andrei’s kiss in Italy. Andrei changed Eve’s name from Sascha to Caprice, and this is what she became known as. Eve mourned her Ekaterina for many decades and was forced to do many things she did not want to do -- including using her powers to the point that she learned how to kill with them.
Andrei was a cruel master who constantly kept Eve on a tight leash, and at the slightest hint of insubordination, Eve was cruelly punished. In this environment, Eve quickly learned how to hide her emotions, likes, and dislikes well. The only benefit of being under Andrei’s control was that Eve’s powers flourished. She became his trump card if you will, and her name was feared by vampires in Northern Italy for many years. When Andrei made the journey from Italy to Germany in 1919 WWI was ending and Eve tried to escape his control. She used her abilities on her master, but suffered heavy consequences when she trapped herself in a hellish nightmare for two days straight.
When Eve woke she thought she had lost her mind. Andrei and his kiss had established themselves in Hesse and Andrei, who was loyal to The Council, remained a master. Eve was harshly beaten for weeks on end for trying to harm her master. Although she was valuable, Andrei had grown weary of Eve’s reluctance to bend to his will, and decided to leave her in an alley to die.
When Eve woke she thought in addition to losing her mind, she had been killed, because she saw an old face -- Vladimir. He had stolen many a vampire’s powers since his days in the Polish Commonwealth, and was powerful enough to kill Andrei and those in his kiss who opposed him. Although Eve was a friend of Vladimir‘s, her years with Andrei made her skeptical and cautious. She had a good reason to be cautious. Vladimir’s ability to steal the power of other vampire’s had driven him mad.
Vladimir offered to take Eve under his wing. When she declined Vladimir used his powers against her. Eve became little more than a doll for Vladimir’s purposes. Many decades passed by and poor Eve, who was more a mannequin that drank blood than a vampire, was forced to use her powers to commit heinous crimes. Vladimir’s campaign of ill directed chaos was vicious, bloody, and resulted in the deaths of several master level vampire’s and countless rogue vampires. These actions eventually caught the attention of The Vampire Council. When it was said and done Vladimir‘s madness worked in The Council‘s favor; he was killed by sunlight. The Council decided not to press a kill order against Eve and the decision was hotly contested by the vamps in Europe. It is widely believed that Eve was sparred a severe punishment because she is of The Queen of Nightmares bloodline. Although Eve was not killed by The Vampire Council, she was banned from Europe for one hundred years.
Following The Council’s judgment, Eve moved to the United States, New York to be more specific. Marcus Lestat became her master. He was a kind and gentle vampire, a drastic change from the savages Eve had become accustomed to. Eve became an official U.S. citizen in 1989 when she married her pomme de sang Boris, a bear shifter. After almost two decades of loyal service, Marcus was ordered by the Council to trade Eve to another master. Marcus was skeptical, but he felt that he had taught her all there was to know about her bloodline, and that perhaps, she could learn more from the wise and powerful Darla Strigoi. Eve is very grateful to Marcus for all he has done, but she fears that Darla will judge her on her troubled past.
Writing Sample:Eve dramatically sighed as she looked at the mess strewn across the floor; a twenty dollar bill, a pink cellular phone, two sticks of strawberry gum, and a large heap of clothes that should have been packed days ago. She was certain she had told Boris to clean this up before he left. He was about as good as she was with cleaning things, and that didn’t say much. She carelessly walked past the disaster site, naked as the day she was born, and flung her closet door open to find something seductive to wear. She knew that human men would chase anything with a pair of tits, but she was looking for some steamy lycan loving tonight. A short sparkly gold dress with a plunging neckline caught her eye, and Eve thought it was sufficient enough for her purpose. She slipped the dress on and grabbed a pair of black pumps before closing the closet door.
Tonight was her last night in Queens, New York. How she managed to survive this long in a state occupied with a master vampire in every borough and county, she had no idea, but she did it. A pair of long gold earrings dangled from her delicate ears. Her long brown hair was loose, and her face was decorated with smoky dark make up. Oh she was definitely getting some tonight.
Although she didn’t want to admit it, Eve was going to miss Boris. He had been a faithful pomme de sang, and already having food at home made things a whole lot easier for her. She had bonded with him more than she intended to. He was important to her and she wanted to make sure he was happy. She extended an invitation to Boris for him to join her, but he said he was comfortable in New York. Also, there weren’t many bear shifters in Miami that he knew of. Eve agreed. Boris would be better off in the big apple. The question was, would she be better off in Miami?
Eve stopped thinking about it immediately. She did not want to feel conflicted on her last night as a New Yorker. She was going to Miami and that was that. Her heels clicked on the polished wooden floor as she walked towards the mirror to look at an empty reflection. She was tired of not existing. She was tired of being alone.
She wanted to belong.
And the rest:Anything else? I’m new to this kind of roleplaying. That sample is sort of random but I hope you get it.
