Title: Reflections on Serenity (OPEN)
Description: The Inner Workings of a Dingo's Mind
Apollo - February 14, 2008 04:51 AM (GMT)
Apollo walked through the gardens of his friend and Ulfric reveling in the serenity that was so, natural, for lack of a better word, in the place. He himself did not follow the religion of its owner, but he could feel its power almost tangibly. The ground he was walking on was sacred in its own right, a place of refuge for the weary and the beaten. Sometimes, he even felt as if it was a refuge for him as well, when he could not or would not turn to the church.
That particular thought saddened him greatly. He was of, and always would be of the Holy Mother Church, but sometimes it confused him. Sometimes he wondered why the Vatican clung so tightly to words of the past that could not offer hope and the promise of redemption to the world. Reaching out to the part of himself that he identified as being the presence of the Holy Spirit, he let it wrap around him.
Finding himself, he knelt before a small altar in the garden. Within himself, he knew the Blessed Trinity would get the message all the same. Quietly, but with solemn energy he began to recite, "Father in Heaven, ever-living source of all that is good, keep me faithful in serving You. Help me to drink of Christ's Truth, and fill my heart with His Love so that I may serve You in faith and love and reach eternal life. In the Sacrament of the Eucharist You give me the joy of sharing Your Life. Keep me in Your presence. Let me never be separated from You and help me to do Your Will. "
As the dingo spoke he felt the divine presence within himself grow and fill him with serenity. At peace, the dingo allowed the serenity to fill from him and pour out of him onto the grounds of the garden around him. This was his serenity, and his one real power to use and to draw on. Centered once more, he could feel the approach of another. He smiled as he remained motionless awaiting the other approaching to make a move, or an exit.
Willow Vercillo - February 14, 2008 11:51 AM (GMT)
Willow walked over the soft earth as she felt her wolf pad within her, she calmed it like a mother to a child a soft lullaby falling from her lips as she twirled slightly around the area, she loved walking here, feeling close to the others like herself, but it was only this feeling and nothing more, to approach them would be like feeding a flame and so she kept to her right as a pomme de sang and had searched the Vampire of the city the verdict was yet unknown.
Her footsteps matched her heartbeat until she felt an odd sensation fall over her, her skin crawled as she was drawn further in towards the power that rolled gently across the surrounding area, she felt calm and when she saw the figure she hesitated in approaching, instead she found her self just watching in interest to what the young lycan was going.
The soft calming words that had fallen from her lips to calm her wolf had long disappeared, only silence enveloped the area, she cleared her throat and walked closer to the man « It is a first for me to come across another admiring the area as much as I do » she said quietly as her wolf again began to walk in circles trapped deep within her.
Kelsi Whittle - February 15, 2008 05:52 PM (GMT)
The mornings were coming sooner and sooner to Kelsi as she pressed her body on during the nights. This morning wasn’t any different, and the wolf had received only three hours of sleep last night. Even through this, though, she was awake and down in the kitchen before the clock struck seven. She doubted that very many people would be up this early, as she didn’t hear or see anyone on her way to the kitchen. Walking over to the island in the middle of the kitchen, Kelsi pulled out an apple from the large, glass bowl that was sitting on it.
Turning and leaning on the said island, Kelsi took a bite out of her apple. She was wearing light blue cotton pajama pants with a white, fitting, sleeveless shirt. On her feet were white bunny slippers that were worn from overuse. Her hair, which was currently in a bun, smelled like her shampoo after having her morning shower to wake her up. On her face she wore her glasses instead of her contacts, which she normally wore. It was too early, she thought, to be wearing something on the top of your eye.
Glancing out the window in front of her, Kelsi noticed a man sitting at the altar that was surrounded by trees. She recognized this man as one of the lycanthropes that had gone on the hunt with her and the pack. Not far from him was a woman, who Kelsi had never before seen. She was standing near him, just around the gazebo. Curiosity getting the better of the wolf girl, Kelsi pulled the pad of paper out of the drawer in the kitchen along with a pen out. Opening the door to the back yard, Kelsi quietly stepped out.
Walking all the way to the gazebo, on the opposite side as the woman, Kelsi leaned against it and examined the both of them. The man seemed to be praying, and Kelsi could only imagine him being either Christian or Catholic, the more likely being the latter of the two. The girl, who had been singing a quiet lullaby. Getting relaxed and calm, Kelsi pushed her glasses higher up on her nose and wrote down what they seemed to be doing, their looks, and personalities on the pad of paper. She made a note to put these in her laptop afterwards.
Apollo - February 16, 2008 02:54 AM (GMT)
Apollo raised his inner eyebrows at the woman who spoke to him. She was utterly unfamiliar, and she smelt of vampire, which was odd for lukoi in their own safe house. However, he could appreciate that she seemed to fnid some comfort in the grounds. He smiled at her, "Adelphus' landscpaing is always perfect. I do not know who he gets to do it, but they are truly blessed with divine insight."
He stopped his thoughts as he felt another person approaching. He held his hand up momentarily to Willow. He spoke loud enough for his voice to carry to Kelsi, "It's not polite to be a voyeur. Would you care to join us?"
Willow Vercillo - February 16, 2008 09:33 AM (GMT)
Willow remained where she was as she felt another approach, willow looked at the woman smiled and bowed her head slghtly as she took a step back alowing the woman to get closer, she saw the hand of the man on the floor and kept her mouth shut, her thoughts widly playing over the new strangrs she had met.
Kelsi Whittle - February 19, 2008 05:29 PM (GMT)
Kelsi, too planned out in her thoughts and what she was writing on the paper did not notice that the two knew of her presence until the male dingo had said something to her. She didn’t quite catch the words, though it startled her enough to get her attention. Looking up, she noticed that the man wasn’t even looking at her, though the woman had her eyes on Kelsi, and even took a step back to allow her to come out of her hiding. Kelsi knew that she would greater influence herself to come out instead of staying in the shadows and possibly getting the newcomers angry.
Sighing, and half happy that the ground wasn’t as wet as she had once believed (as she didn’t want to get her slippers all muddy), Kelsi walked out from the shadows of the gazebo and looked the two down. “As if there is no other way to gain most information other than being a voyeur – but I digress. I’ve never seen you here before. Who are you?” she asked, her eyes glancing toward the female wolf. Then, with curiosity yet again enveloping her into her work, Kelsi glanced again at the male of which she knew the face but not the name. “And I have seen you before. During the hunt, you were there.”
Her eyes came up to see the hand that quieted the young girl, and followed it to find out that it attached to the dingo’s shoulder. Quickly trying to make up for the embarrassment of being caught, Kelsi wrote down a few scribbles of noted on her pad of paper and then looked up. “Is there truly a good reason why she must not talk? Or do you merely have a few sexist moments?” she asked, trying to squeeze some information out of the two without actually asking them about their lives – but via ‘around-the-bush’ questions and playful insults.
Apollo - February 19, 2008 11:46 PM (GMT)
The dingo turned his head quizically at Kelsi as he pondered whether to answer her in seriousness, or in like kind. He settled for joking to try and put the two female wolves at ease. "Ma cherie, I assure you, my sexist thoughts don't extend beyond comments about men being pigheaded jerks who have exactly one use," he said with a smile to make it an implication.
Apollo rocked backwards and laid nearly fully out on the ground to look up at his companions. He wasn't conciously aware of it doing so, but the new position caused his shirt to ride up ever so slightly revealing just a touch of skin as the lines of his body unfolded. "I'm Apollo, mesdames. Might we continue the pleasantries?"
Willow Vercillo - February 20, 2008 11:23 AM (GMT)
Willow looked at the floor and spoke quietly « Hello, my names Willow, Willow Vercillo. I have meet the ulfric of the pack, I wasn’t here to stay I just fancied a run » she said looking up slightly lost. « Im sorry I disturbed you, I can leave if you like » she said to both of the wolves as she took another step back.
Eyes remaining on the floor she nodded « Enchante* Apollo et Mlle » she said quietly to them both, her eyes had widened slightly at the comment the young woman had said to the man about quieting her, she went to comment but kept her mouth shut, she didn’t want to make situations worse.
*= Please to meet you.
Kelsi Whittle - February 20, 2008 06:43 PM (GMT)
Kelsi couldn’t help but let out a giggle as Apollo made a comment on her sexist joke. She was relived that he took it as the joke that it was, instead of an insult. Kelsi shook her head with a smile on her face as she kicked off her bunny slippers and took a seat on the chilly morning grass beside Apollo’s legs. It felt nice to her, sitting in the grass like that. It cooled her off and made her more relaxed around the two people that she had just met. Her wolf, who had been watching intently had now relaxed as well, and was laying down in a calm position.
“And . . . That depends on how ‘pleasant’ you plan on getting, Mr. Apollo,” Kelsi’s eyes drew downward to gaze at the exposed skin just above his pants where his shirt had rode up. Nodding at the place where her eyes were seemingly stuck her mouth opened, “Your stomach is showing . . . did you know?” A mocking smile formed on her face as the words escaped her lips. She didn’t know if the dingo was doing this to flirt with her and Willow, or if he truly was that bad at keeping himself composed.
Turning to the other girl, though, her face turned to a more motherlike tone. “You didn’t disturb us, Willow,” Kelsi said, patting a place for her to sit just in front of Kelsi. “If anything, I disturbed you two.”
Looking back at the dingo that was laying beside her, Kelsi remembered that he had yet to explain himself to the two of them other than his name. “You never said why you were here. And I doubt you would be living here, or I might have seen you. Or must I have to force it out of you like a child?” Kelsi crossed her arms in front of her chest to put more emphasis on it, completely ignoring the fact that she had neglected to say as to why she was there.
Apollo - February 22, 2008 03:50 AM (GMT)
Apollo smiled at Willow invitingly. "It is impossible to disturb one who is doing nothing at all. Please, join us mademoiselle. " He moved slightly to indicate a spot near himself and Kelsi for willow. "If you are of the lukoi of the city you are never an imposition here."
He smiled at Kelsi "As for how friendly we intend to get, that is entirely up to you. However, I will say this to you, petite dame, I am of the lukoi, I need no reason to be at the safehouse of my ulfric. However, I came here for respite, as I do not have enough for confession today."
Willow Vercillo - February 22, 2008 10:34 AM (GMT)
“If anything, I disturbed you two.”
Willow smiled slightly and shyly as the woman adressed her. " Pas du tout madame.*" she said quietly, each time she was nervous her english disapeared. She had gotten too used to it with her old mistress.
Willow smiled and looked wide eyed at the space next to both, swallowing she took the place as indecaed and smiled to the man, " Thank you, though i really did not mean to follo so close to the safe house, you see i have meet the ulfric, but i have not taken residence here for i have another place i stay" she said sloly after Apollo had finished explaining herself.
--------------
*= Not at all.
Kelsi Whittle - February 26, 2008 02:35 AM (GMT)
The girl was still wary of the two new people that she had just formally met. Kelsi, being so adept to information keeping that she was, didn’t want to give off too much of it for secretive purposes. Though she doubted that these two of the lukoi had any intention on taking the information that she lived there to bad use, as there wasn’t much that the particular information at hand would do for one who wanted a calamity for the pack. Sighing at the newfound headache that seemed to be pressing into her temples at the speed of a bullet, she leaned back on her hands. Kelsi decided not to think about it anymore, lest her mind be ruined because of it.
One thing that did irk Kelsi, though, was the fact that these two kept slipping into French, and to a girl that had grown up in downtown Washington, D.C., it was like trying to understand gibberish. Kelsi herself had adapted to using and understanding the downtown D.C. ‘not-quite-Brooklyn’ accent that was spoken around the city most often. Kelsi did know a bit of French, and could make out small words that they were saying, but when it came to the entire sentences, she was completely lost. She had to admit that she knew more German than French, and had to bring it to their attention at one point, but maybe the quizzical expression on her face whenever Willow spoke would give them a hint to her limits on the French language.
Kelsi smiled as the other girl decided finally to sit down beside the two others after the pressing of them. She seemed to Kelsi to be extremely shy, and the girl had to press herself not to pull out her pad of paper and her pen to make a note of the activity that seemed to be her normal self. Glancing over at the dingo laying only a few inches away from her knee, Kelsi couldn’t help but let out a smile mockingly. “I’m glad we’ve come to an agreement, then,” Kelsi said, giggling without an explanation to her statement not seconds before.
Apollo - February 28, 2008 03:39 AM (GMT)
Apollo tilted his head quizically at Willow. "That explains a great deal. You smell different. It's odd, but then, even that is in place here though. Just as a shining place of light can fall into shadow, so surely must all things that have life die. Biencennue a Miami mlle."
Apollo turned to Kelsi and turned his head, "Sorry dear. Women don't do it for me."
Willow Vercillo - February 28, 2008 10:31 AM (GMT)
Willow just bowed her head low as she felt slightly out of place, she loved being in her wolf form and being around others who could do the same. But a small part of her held back as she remembered the statements of her old mistress about the other, she shivered slightly as she looked around.
Bringing her legs into her chest she wrapped her arms around them, small and quiet her eyes flickered from the two others as she watched them chat.
Kelsi Whittle - March 6, 2008 03:52 AM (GMT)
Kelsi’s face turned into a surprised expression at the comment from the dingo sitting just beside her. “And what would have made you think that I was even interested in you?” Kelsi asked, thinking up a comeback as these words flooded from her mouth. “Besides–” Kelsi had come up with it, “–you aren’t even that cute.” Kelsi smiled, sticking her tongue out and leaning more toward Willow in case the man decided to get back at her for the remark.
Kelsi turned to the girl that she had just scooted closer to, now seeing that she was inexplicably quiet and seemingly afraid of saying anything on what they were saying. Either that or she had felt out of place. Trying to pull the girl that the wolf had just met into the conversation, she nudged Willow and turned back to Apollo. “And I’m sure Willow here agrees with me.”
Apollo - March 9, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
Apollo grinned at Kelsi, "Mademoiselle, the money that finds its way into my g-string at night makes me doubt the veracity of your assessment of my attractiveness. Besides," he patted her stomach, "you started it."
He turned to Willow and said apologetically, "We're not all this crazy. We're the craziest ones... There's one guy, can't remember his name, he's to be avoided unless you like doggies that can't keep it zipped. Adelphus has that sort of grace I hope to get some day. Everyone else is more or less normal... For lycanthropes... Which isn't that normal I guess is it?"
