Johnny is able to roll another with his mind, and is able to smell the strong emotions such as anger, fear, and lust from another person. With his bloodline comes the ability to rot
Weaknesses Johnny has the basic weakesses for a vampire, such as weaknesses to silver, wooden stakes, sunlight, and holy items. He can also be very reckless when having a conversation with a person, and sometimes say things that he wouldn’t have said. His eleven-year-old boy inside of him still speaks out, even when he doesn’t want it to.
Weapons carried on person: Two cutlasses are sheathed on his left hip, with a flintlock pistol at his right. These three are held on a thick brown leather belt.

Physical description: Johnny has the basic structure of an eleven year old boy. He is 4' 11" tall and weighs just under 90 pounds. He has brown hair that he pulls back into about an inch long ponytail at the nape of his neck. His eyes are dark forest green with flakes of crimson by the pupil. His skin is only slightly tanned, but still like the fair skin that was his when he was still eleven years of age.

Starting from the top, Johnny wears a black bandanna with a small scull and crossbones just near his ear. On top of that is his worn-out brown, tricorn hat. For a shirt he wears a dirtied, white peasant top with a rip-length brown vest over it. He wears brown bucket top shoes that go to his knees, and tan knee breeches. The jacket that he wears over all of this a long, red, cotton pirate’s coat embellished with gold buttons. It has belled sleeves and the jacket falls to the back of his knees. Both of his ears had been pierced, and he wears one large, gold hoop earring in each. At least a paragraph...include: clothing style, identifying features (visable birthmarks, tattoos, scars, piercings), and anything else.

Personality description: Johnny has a very childish attitude, most likely from the fact of him being turned at such a youthful age. He will strive hard to get what he wants, and is very determined in these things no matter how ridiculous it may seem. He is very quick-witted and doesn't like to wait for things. Sarcasm is one thing that Johnny loves to do, but cannot stand it if it is shown to him. Even through all of this, though, he can still act like a little boy at times, and be frightenend of things.

Take me home to meet mom and dad:
Parents: John "Calico Jack" Rackham (father, deceased) and Anne Bonny (mother, deceased)
Siblings: None
Children: None

History: Johnny was the son of John “Calico Jack” Rackham and Anne Bonny in an affair against Anne’s lawful husband, James Bonny. His mother died in childbirth to her, and his father was hung in the gallows just outside of Port Royal, Jamaica as a warning to other pirates. He was taken up by the maidservant that was there when Anne birthed Johnny and her husband. He was not grown up in the dark, and was reminded many times that the body hanging just outside his window over the sea was the body of his father. The maidservant warned him many times not to go looking for trouble like his parents had, but that was not going to keep him from what he was born to do.

Johnny Rackham escaped the imprisonment in himself one night as Port Royal was attacked by a ship full of pirates. He stole from his bed and headed toward the docks, taking the alleyways that he had so notefully memorized so that he would not get into the fight, and snuck aboard the ship. Though, he was found out soon enough. The captain of the ship wanted Johnny off the ship, and to take his secrets with him. He was to walk the plank, but one pirate stuck up for him. It was a woman, who told the captain that it would be even better to work Johnny to death than to merely watch him drown, and that at least they should get some good out of him before his death day.

Darla was a strange woman, Johnny could tell, and it was even stranger that the captain would let a woman on board. It was said to have been bad luck, and bad luck it seemed, as Darla only came out during nights. She was a fair pirate, and Johnny was usually sent to work under her or in the kitchen. They would have been something of ‘friends’ at this time, and they sailed along with the pirates. Johnny took no note in the plundering, and stayed on the boat most of the time. That is, until they were captured.

Johnny and the rest of the crew were taken back to his home in Port Royal, where they were ‘sentenced to hang by the neck until dead’. Only, Darla was not in this specific capturing. The trail was quick, and that evening, after the sun had set behind the horizon, the entire crew was standing in a line with nooses in front of them. As his eyes raised, Johnny saw Darla standing in the darkness of the alleyways. He was furious. She made no attempt to help, and merely watched as one by one they were hung. A man was going to each of the pirates to put their own personal noose around their neck, but before he could get to Johnny, the boy jumped off of the platform and started making his way toward Darla.

With chains around his legs and his hands, it was nearly impossibe, but he was an expert at dodging and at least made it to the alley before a hand rested on his shoulder. Not realizing it at first, he started looking around for Darla, but she had seemed to have disappeared. Turning his head, Johnny’s eyes met that of a monster in Navy clothing. The vampire smile, showing his fangs and sank them into Johnny's already pale neck. It had seemed as if it were all planned out, and he had fallen for the trap.

For thirty-nine years he had spent his time as a personal pet for the Navy captain. Within three nights after he had been captured yet again he was turned into a nightwalker. Johnny was forced to do all kinds of physical work on the Navy's ship. He wore shackles throughout those years, and made positively sure not to get on the captain's (now his master) bad side. He planned out every day as if it were his last, still not knowing why he hadn't have been killed like he was supposed to have thirty-nine years ago. That is, until one fateful day...

(Writing sample will give you the rest of the information.)

Writing Sample: The hosizon was a greenish color. A storm was bound to approach now, and dark clouds were already dotting the nighttime sky. Green eyes turn up on their creator, anger flowing in the veins of the face. “I want to get out of here. I have served you for fifty years now, and I must find her, or I seem that I would have burst. ...Please.” Johnny couldn’t help but turn to begging.

The other vampire’s eyes met his, and a sigh escaped his lips. “Fine, then. I shall give you a ship and a crew,” the vampire said, holding a hand out. Johnny turned around to see a large pirate ship at the dock. There seemed to be four people standing there, waiting for something interesting to happen. “And you shall give me a promise.”

It seemed much too long ago that Johnny had agreed to go on this wretched journey. He was sent on this mission, and to come back successful would mean that he would have to work hard. He was to return to his master stronger than ever before to be free from him. He would become his own master, and have servants.

And yet, Johnny had spent 249 years at sea with his crew, battling other ships until there were none. He would pick up strangers from random ports to feed the vampire captain, and to let the human crew have some time to themselves. But they were sent there to be at the will of Johnny, and so he knew that they would come back. His creator seemed to know when his crew were at their wits end as well, as there would be a new crew at his stopping point when he needed one.

“Land! Land! Bloody, land!” the human in the crows nest’s voice cut through the quiet air like a knife, pointing a finger out into the sea. Johnny, sitting in the captains quarters, looked out one of the circular windows of his ship. Not two miles away was a long line of land. Johnny stood up from his desk and walked out to the deck of the ship.

“Yes, well it seems too bad for you, as you all will stay out to sea,” he said, starting to prepare a small boat for his trave to shore. The four crew members turned a look of disgust toward their captain, but did nothing. It wasn’t as if they could do anything, as they were put on that ship directly to serve Johnny so that he may fulfill his promise.

Looking back toward the patch of land, the pirate captain spotted a small sign with the name 'Key Biscayne' scribbled on it. It was in the dead of night, and so no one would see his ship setting him off. From there he would rendezvous with another one of his master's lackeys to aquire a more modern and less strange-looking ship called a 'yacht', and sail it into the harbors of Miami without even a turn of the head from another.

The sailing had gone smoothly. After having his master's man show him how to sail the gas-sailing contraption, Johnny had gone out to sea, heading straight in the direction that he had been told to go. His precious ship was - unfortunantly for him - in the hands of his crew. They would be keeping the ship in a cove not far from the Key Biscayne. And soon, with still hours before the sun was going to break the dark of the horizon, the large metropolis was in sight. Johnny couldn’t believe it. The description of it was exactly the same as his creator said that it would be, and after 299 years, he had finally found her. He had finally reached it.

Miami.

And the rest:
Anything else? I asked permission before adding Darla to Johnny’s history. And I do realize that the date of Calico Jack’s death doesn’t match the birth date of Johnny, but I was just hoping that we could ignore that. ^^;

Did you read the rules? ADMIN EDIT

I know these may seem slightly minsecule points but I feel they are important:

A pirate ship sailing into any modern port would be....interesting. He would have to get clearance to sail, papers to enter, and would either be planning on confronting Darla or asking permission to sail in the ocean by her territory, though that seems to be made clear in the history that he wants to confront her and so does not care to get permission.

Wearing that outfit would make him stand out like a sore thumb, and would just make it plain easy for Darla to find and kill him should he proove a nuiscance. I would suggest he wear more modern clothes so as to better blend in, but it is not a requirement.

Thanks ^_^

Well, for the first point I meant it to be stormy and foggy out, and then he would row a... well, rowboat into the port at night - with no one there to see him - while the actual ship stayed under the haze of the fog. But if you want me to change it, then I will. ^.^

And as for the second one, he was going to pluck off of some old bum as he got out of the harbor. But - again - I can easily change this if you want me to. ^.^

Bump. Just to get your attention, since I can't seem to catch you when you're on. XD *bumps*

Marcus Travelli - February 26, 2008 10:16 AM (GMT)
*is bumped*

Okay so there is still the whole 'pirate ship sailing around that is hardly going to go unnoticed when surrounded by...speedboats and cruise ships and the like....' thing going on. I doubt 249 years at sea would enable him to keep his rather large, rather old fashioned, ship out of public view and unless the fog was naturally occuring and bloody lucky to be there, he would of had to use his powers to make it. Meaning Darla would sense him even faster and use nice, modern missiles to blow the wooden ship to match sticks.

So, in short, I suggest he use a more modern mode of transport. Piracy in modern times, whilst relatively rare, has at least been updated to include fast boats. I don't see a wooden galleon outstripping police speedboats or a ticked off Darla any time soon lol.

Johnny Rackham - February 27, 2008 01:01 AM (GMT)
I understand. ^.^ It has been edited now.

*comes back for yet another point*

Okay sorry I missed this and am making comment number 3 here lol, but you need more detail as to his being turned by the vampire in the Navy. Unless a powerful vampire, it takes 3 bites over 3 consecutive nights to turn a human into a vampire, so Johnny needs to of been captured and turned for the most likely scenario.

After that, THEN I can approve you lol.

Johnny Rackham - March 10, 2008 01:14 AM (GMT)
Done! XD

Hello doll!
Now that I am back, I'm catching the board up on all of its unapproved apps. I spoke with Sarah about this character, seeing as she was the one who began with its approval process. So, here goes!

I LOVE the creativity used in creating this character. But there are inherent problems with having a pirate, be he vampire or human, on a board set in present day Miami. Even if Johnny rowed a rowboat to shore to make his way to the port of Miami, the pirate ship he left behind would be far from unseen. With the amount of eyes kept on the seas around the US by our own armed forces alone, his ship would have been sunken ages ago. Not to mention the logistics of wood in water lasting over 200 years.

Not only would a old pirate ship stick out like a sore thumb, but so would a boy who looked like he was 11 walking around like he just stepped out of an off broadway showing of Pirates of Penzance. I'm glad to see that you made the changes that were asked of you, but I think that you aren't really grasping the full ideas behinds those asked changes.

Now, if this character were more modernized, wearing clothes of the time and travelling on a large boat from at least this era, I could see it as a viable character on the board. Even better, seeing as he appears to be 11 years old, if he were travelling in the company of his Master, or another vampire who looked older than him, it would be a bit more believable.

I'm sorry, but logistically, after consideration by all three of the admins, I just can't see this character as being approvable, not without serious changes.
