Title: Following Up
Description: Darla

Luca Velasquez - December 7, 2007 01:07 PM (GMT)
He was not in the mood to play nice, not with his little sister trailing behind him with a gleam in her eyes that only hinted at what she wanted to say yet wouldn’t. He knew that look and only hoped she would wait until they where heading home before she aimed for his wallet and his good side. It was what every little girl wanted, a princesses palace and looking at the manor house looming over both of them he had to admit that the owner had good taste. "Stick to my side and please keep your mouth buttoned sweetie, the woman that lives here needs to talk to me and then we can go home and watch Shrek two ok." Looking down at the little girl he grinned and stuck his tongue out causing her to giggle, he felt like a black sheep leading the other animals into the slaughter house. Had he lost his mind? That thought had bounced around his skull since he hadn't been able to find a babysitter; he was taking a child into a vampire’s home. He was taking his sister into a Master vampire’s home, the Master that ran the city of Miami. Oh yeah, he was bound for hell if anything went wrong he mused as he ruffled her hair.

"Luca, what time is it?"

Way past your bedtime he though with a smile as he shook his wrist, his shirt sleeve sliding back enough so she could see for herself. Draping his arm around her small shoulders he put a brave face on and knocked felling like an extra on a Dracula movie oddly enough. Hearing someone on the other side of the door his nose twitched, the scent of vampire making the hair on the back of his neck raise up as the door opened and light spilled out onto the drive way “Hello, I’m here to see the Master at her request, I'm Luca Velasquez” he murmured with a relaxed smile at the servant.

"Follow me please"

The male vampire turned and walked further into the house and the Wererat and the human child followed behind as the door closed behind them with a soft thud.

Sensing Luca's arrival at last, Darla gave a slight tilt of her head as she sensed he had somebody with him. The energy was less and from a smaller source and after a few moments she had identified it as a human child. So Luca had bought his youngest sister with him...interesting. A ploy to keep him safe, banking on her not wanting to do anything to him infront of the little girl perhaps? Time would tell, but before she so much as moved from the seat she was currently occupying Darla sent for one of her manservants and told him to have the chef on duty to prepare his kitchen in the event of him being asked to prepare something.

Moving out of the room, leaving Luca and young Juanita waiting for five minutes in her office, giving him the chance to tell the girl what she should and shouldn't do, Darla walked into the room without her usual neutrally watchfull expression and instead greeted Luca with a smile that had she not been so pale and had moved with such grace she could of passed for human. Not that she was trying. She had changed her outfit from a plain black dress to one of a deep rose color that shimmered in the lights, wearing slightly more sparkling jewlerry than she normally did, and she gave an inward smile of satisfaction as Juanita's eyes followed her, riveted. She knew she looked every inch the etheral fairy queen with her white skin, elegant deepest pink-red dress and black hair, and she took a seat beside her desk with room enough for two rather than her usual single chair, spreading her skirts out before her.

Putting some of her power into her voice, Darla made her accent all the softer and her voice carried the sound of tiny little bells moving in an invisible wind, her eyes moving to Luca's as she knew he would see what she was doing with her voice instantly, before she looked back to Juanita with a warm and inviting smile.

"I am glad you could come Luca, but who is this delightful young lady you have with you? She is far more beautiful than I could ever hope to be...What is your name my petite beauty?"

It was only fair that they should wait for the Master to deem them worthy of her attention but that still didn’t stop him from warning his sister about what to do and what not to do. Somehow he knew that the little girl would have no problem forgetting everything he said, after all he had made damned sure to keep his family away from vampires and now he had brought one to Darla’s home.

Sitting his sister on the chair beside him he continued to wait, and just when he thought of getting up and moving he hard someone heading towards them, his nostrils flared ever so slightly taking in the scent of vampire. So, it looked like Darla was coming to see them after all he mused checking his watch only to find they’d been waiting five minuets.

Looking at the door as it opened the Wererats eyebrows quirked slightly, she wore a dress in deep shade of rose, the jewelry was a nice touch against the paleness of her skin. Damn, he was mentally complimenting a woman’s clothes? The thought that he was indeed mad flashed through his mind again as the wisps of power flared when her eyes landed on his sister when the Master sat.

"I am glad you could come Luca, but who is this delightful young lady you have with you? She is far more beautiful than I could ever hope to be...What is your name my petite beauty?"

He smiled, "Of course, I agree, should you call I would come. My business however kept me away from the night life." Dampening his anger he leant back a little in the seat he occupied, he would not raise to anything the woman did. Looking down at his wide-eyed sister he sighed as she spoke,

"Juanita Velasquez miss."

He blinked slowly, his own powers where nothing special but it was tearing him up inside to see the child watching Darla like she was some fairy tale princess. Was that what the Master had wanted anyway? Pushing it out of his mind he replaced the smile on his face and turned his attention to Darla "So.....what is so important Darla?"

Sensing the whisp of anger and power coming from the Rat, giving an inward smile as she saw that he was not going to try to stop her talking to his sister despite hating the prospect, Darla gave a bright smile to the wide-eyed Juanita and nodded with her head, speaking in a friendly voice as one would to the daughter of a good friend, the illusion she wanted.

"Pleased to meet you Juanita, I am Darla Strigoi."

Darla knew precicesly how hard it was to see his sister so enraptured, and whlist part of her wanted to continue the scene with his sister because it would be of benefit and would make things run far more smoothly, part of her was doing it purely for the sheer enjoyment she drew from the look on his face when he was not focusing on his demeanour, the way he fretted about the little girl. She knew he would not act out against her; not only was she Master of the City but she had agreed to try to see if she could draw more Rats to the city. He did not know that she had a Rat living in the Estate, but he would soon enough.

Sending out a flick of power to the nearest manservant she waited for him to arrive wit ha slight smile and when he came through the door beckoned him closer.

"Please could you fetch Alicia for me? If Arraka wishes to come too she may, but wait here a moment."

Looking back to Luca and Juanita, targeting her question at Juanita more than the Rat once more, Darla smiled and rearranged her skirts in a soft whisper of silk as she spoke. She doubted Juanita would want to say no, and that would fuse with Luca's knowledge that it would be rude to decline to get the Rat and his sister in the dining hall with her.

"Juanita, Luca, would you wish to join us for dinner? It is the least I can offer to you both whilst you are here and we can discuss things over the meal."
