Scarlet Morti - December 1, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
Scarlet looked ahead, finally he was in sight, the torturous face of blood that stood no more than a few feet away, taunting her into a trap no doubt, it was her third vampire in Miami, after all she hadn’t been here for long, she moved slowly her body almost gliding in silence as she approached closer to him bringing out her daggers. She felt the light of the moon guild her path, her hair softly blowing in the gentle autumn wind surrounding her delicate features in a cape of curls.
She gathered up her strength, not touching her dormant Animator power, for such would awake the vampires Senses, in which she was trying so hard to block.
“ You are no match for me, it has taken you so long yet you fail so easily” Scarlet cursed, as the vampire addressed her, as though he had known all along, his voice was calm yet it flared anger in Scarlet so easily.
“ Damn you” she said throwing one of her daggers, the shot was strong, clean and fast yet the vampires hand came up stopping the blade inches away from his back, she felt the blade’s humming vibrations at the impact of being stopped so easily, just like herself her weapons hated being overrun in middle combat. He threw the blade against the tree as he stepped towards her.
“tut tut, why must we fight I haven’t done anything to you… yet” he said still approaching a light temptation of mind roll hinting his deep masculine voice, she spat on the floor and kept her distance, she was no match for his strength, only her skills, she jumped over him, reaching the tree where her foot touched the blade that was stuck deeply in the bark, she used it for leverage as she launched herself for a branch. Arriving above him she took out her other blade and jumped down, each move precise and fast, a blur for any human, she came down fast and brought her blade up, she missed by inches as the vampire grasped the plan and moved equally as fast, the blade digging into the vampires stomach where only seconds his heart was.
Fast and in anger the vampire hit Scarlet sending her flying towards a tree, she hit it hard, the impact shaking her head as she feel to the floor, tears threatening her eyes as she stood back up, shaking her head as she disallowed disorientation to sink in, her weapons lay feet away and the vampire started to close in, she was blocked both sides with trees, the branches too high to grasp she wondered desperately for her next move as adrenaline pumped into her veins, making her mind fuzzy.
Ray Benjamin - December 1, 2007 07:25 PM (GMT)
This particular night Ray had decided to make his way through one of the older cemeteries that were abundant within Miami. He wasn’t too sure why he had been compelled to do so, but he just wanted to do something different. Ray was a creature of action never wishing to stay idle for too long in fear of boredom. It is probably why he went through the cemetery that night even if he did not realize that. Compared to his normal routes the cemetery was much different. Ray wore a frown as he made his way through the cemetery not finding anything of real interest within the place. He had thought that he would find something interesting this night, but instead he seemed alone with the only the corpses of long gone people to company him.
It was as Ray was about to make his way quickly out of the graveyard in order to call a cab that he got in the scent of something strange, blood and a vampire. Ray quickly made his way towards whatever was going on, his beast compelled by blood. Ray was also interested in just what the smell of blood was about. It didn’t smell like the vampire’s and it also couldn’t just be the vampire feeding for it the smell was too strong. The vampires who got volunteer donors were usually quite neat about their feedings and this much blood was rarely wasted. Ray was quickly heading towards the vampire and whoever its target was. Within a few seconds the lycanthrope enhanced Ray was already close by, hidden by trees, and making sure he was downwind of the group so his scent didn’t reach the vampire. From that position he could take in everything that was happening, the fallen girl and the looming vampire. Ray silently wondered if he should even bother interfering, the girl’s fate would not at all affect his conscious. It was then however, that the beast that lay deep inside him began to move around excitingly getting much of its point across that it had already made up its mind. His hyena wanted to hunt and something as dangerous as a vampire was the perfect game.
Ray allowed an excited hyena giggle as he realized that he too would quite enjoy hunting down the vampire. He then charged towards the vampire without a second thought, his movements blurred due to being a lycanthrope. As he neared by his animal took over forcing Ray to let out a low growl while his mouth was closed. To a hyena it meant that he was about to attack. Ray did just that as the vampire turned to find out what the noise was only to be hit by the charging Ray without letting the vampire get a moment to prepare himself. They tumbled for a few seconds hands clawing at one another and fangs barely escaping each other’s limbs. Ray was knocked aside after rolling oddly on his leg. The vampire immediately rose and split off towards the forest apparently, having no wish to fight further. Ray wanted to chase after the creature to bring it down like an animal and tear into it. However, he contained himself realizing that he should probably check on the girl to make sure she knows he was not her enemy. He didn’t want to leave Miami already and if the female didn’t know that he didn’t want to hurt her, the cops would happily jump on the idea of him wanting to hurt her. Ray turned to the girl and even as he did so some of his small scars healed. Ray then said, “….You alright lady?”
Scarlet Morti - December 1, 2007 07:38 PM (GMT)
Scarlet couldn’t believe her eyes, she got up and shook off her clothes a look of pure disgust turning towards the lycan, she shook her head, she just couldn’t believe her luck.
“Alright? Are you JOKING??? Do you realise what you have just done” Scarlet stopped herself from giving him a mouthful off every word she knew that wasn’t in the English dictionary, she walked over to her dagger, picking it up spinning it and bringing it down on her leg, taking of the blood, and then walking over to the other dagger, with a little struggle she pulled it out of the bark.
She walked back over to the tree and took out a small bottle, of what looked like plain water, but was actually holy water; she splashed down the blade, her face boiling with anger.
Ray Benjamin - December 1, 2007 09:07 PM (GMT)
Ray watched as the lady that he had just saved rose without saying a word, surprisingly a look of unhappiness clear across her face. Ray actually hadn’t expected a woman that he saved to be so not content about what had just occurred. Ray was actually speechless at first when the woman finally did speak and actually yelled at him. He was not prepared for this in the least and when he had actually gotten his wits back was quite pissed off. Ray didn’t even want to save the dumb lady and if it hadn’t been for his hyena wishing to hunt he would have left her to her fate. It was then that he noticed her grab some sort of daggers that had been lying upon the ground. Ray soon realized that she wasn’t the helpless girl that he had come running to save. The woman was something completely different and with that realization Ray’s interest in her grew. However, just because he had become more intrigued by her didn’t mean that his anger had subsided in the least. He was still pissed and he didn’t care whether she knew about it or not.
He allowed her to get up and move around for a bit, not wanting to rush her too quickly and put her on the defensive. He could tell without looking too hard that the daggers were silver and thus could hurt him. When she has cleaned off one of the daggers with some sort of water he decided it was time for him to voice his own opinion. He moved so that he was facing her, showing her that she wasn’t the only one with an angered expression upon her face. Ray then said, “Well sorry for coming to save your trapped ass. I was just walking on through this dump when I saw you huddled on the group like a cowering baby. I wanted to leave you to die, but I just had to listen to the goodness of my heart and come save you.” Ray then snorted a bit as he realized that the last part was a lie and he hadn’t realized he was saying it till midway through, but he didn’t care. Was better that she thought he was honest about saving her. Ray then went on without letting her speak to say, “I fought your little friend over there even took in a few licks for it. The vamp then broke off and made a b-line for the trees. I wanted to chase the bloodsucker, but instead came to see if you were alright, and in return I get to get yelled at. You should be kissing my feet in thanks.” Ray then folded his arms completely pissed that this girl, this chick who wasn’t even a vampire or lycanthrope, could talk back to him.

“Well sorry for coming to save your trapped ass. I was just walking on through this dump when I saw you huddled on the group like a cowering baby. I wanted to leave you to die, but I just had to listen to the goodness of my heart and come save you.”
Scarlet turned her face raging to the man, her hair dangeling around her features that cast shadows across her face, she noticed the lycan infront of her had the same expression she whisteled
« Who said my ass was trapped, i have been hunting the son of a bitch for ages, i have enough holy water to kill the git, and enough silver to kill you now get out my way and hope to god i can catch the vampire or im handing over your head to the cops »
she said throwing her warrent to kill the vampire in his face, she looked down at the floor noticing the small trail of blood, it was good she cleaned her blades with holy water, the only way for a cut to last on a vampire.
“I fought your little friend over there even took in a few licks for it. The vamp then broke off and made a b-line for the trees. I wanted to chase the bloodsucker, but instead came to see if you were alright, and in return I get to get yelled at. You should be kissing my feet in thanks.”
Scarlet almost laughed, she brought out her dagger and spun it prefessionaly in her hand, bringing it into a swift attack position, the blade cool against her skin, she felt the humming of the silver that ran across her body, dancing over her pale skin and setteling in all the other places of her body that a weapon was hiding… « Kiss your feet ? change into your presious lycan form and lick mine, you just dont get what you have done ?!? »
Ray Benjamin - December 1, 2007 09:33 PM (GMT)
Ray snarled a bit as the woman suddenly whistled at him, apparently attempting to mock him. He listened as how she went on about hunting the creature for ages and how she had enough silver and holy water to kill both he and the vampire. He even laughed a bit as she threatened to kill him if she couldn’t find the vampire. He did however; take interest in the warrant that she so happily threw into his face. He looked at the piece of paper curiously, knowing what it was, but not knowing why she had it. Not only did he not assume she was an executioner, but he didn’t really know much about them. The places he had come from were usually either too big of a city or too small of a town to have any real designated executioners. Usually if some lycanthrope or vampire got out of line it was up to the citizens to deal with it. It was one of his reasons why he didn’t like cops for they were the most likely to hunt down his kind if the shit hit the fan.
When the woman placed her warrant back wherever she had grabbed it from in the beginning she decided to taunt him a bit more with another laugh. Ray then watched not amused as she withdrew her silver dagger and spun it around in her hand attempting to show off her skills. He honestly didn’t care that she was good with a knife and was surprised she had survived this long if she was using such a weapon. After all lycanthropes and vampires were much faster then a little old human and a melee fight was just the sort of edge a mad supernatural needed if they wanted to survive an encounter with some sort of avenging chicky like her. Ray couldn’t contain his mocking laughter anymore as once again she insulted him, attempting to ask if he realized what he had done.
When Ray was completely sure that she had stopped talking and gave all her attention on him he decided to answer her barbs. Ray then said, “What I have done? Please don’t ask me something so stupid. Of course I know what I have done. You are probably going to cry about how I just let the bloodsucker go and he is long gone. Don’t make me laugh. He is cut and bleeding, I can still smell that preserved carcass from here, and he isn’t too far away. As for you and your scary little daggers of yours, don’t make me laugh. From the distance we are at now I could slash your throat before you could even withdraw a knife to fight me. Don’t test me lady, I have been in enough fights to know how to handle anyone, certainly someone with some daggers. Now if you don’t excuse me, my beast has been urging me to eat you for a little while now, but being so nice I think I will settle for your vamp.” Ray then turned sniffing the air and attempting to take in the vampire’s scent to get back on track. He had lied about his hyena wanting to eat her; in actuality he was curious about some other things, but not as much as the vampire. The hyena had gotten a taste of it and wanted to finish off his meal. Ray did linger for a bit as he got the scent more then a little curious as to how she would respond to him.
Scarlet Morti - December 1, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
Scarlet laughed, did this guy really think she only carried daggers on her, she put her hand up in front of the lycan, moving ahead and taking out her cross, it was attached to her belt, the cross its self was the size of her forearm, she twisted the cross and a long silver dagger cam from the edge, again she took out her holy water slashed the blade and headed out following the trail of blood.
Half along the way the trail thinned out until it was no longer visible, she closed her eyes pulling towards her, her Animator power, it licked the surfaces around her, almost identical to the feel of Vampires power, her power was cold, dark, lifeless and powerful, she had already raised a group of Corpses by accident with her power and a cut. She walked ahead following her powers trail, finding one just as cold. Locating it easily she headed on, this time jumping in to a tree, heading on from branch to branch her body flexible and supple. She had more strength than meets the eyes, and the same could be said for weapons.
She saw not far away the vampire huddling on the floor, the got a glimpse of the blood mattered white top, she watched as she ripped it off cursing, his cut skin seemed scared, most probably the side affects from the holy water.
Ray Benjamin - December 2, 2007 06:17 AM (GMT)
Ray raised an eyebrow as he watched the women make some sort of gesture and then pull forth a giant cross. He was surprised to see someone carrying a cross that big and even more so as a blade came out of it by making a simple twist. Ray wasn’t sure if she attempting to show him up because regardless of how large a blade she could produce it still meant she would have to get close to her opponent, something a lycanthrope would prefer. Before Ray could further comment on the fact that the long blade was still a melee weapon the mysterious executioner was off again, walking along to follow the blood trail. He was surprised that she had not tried to employ him simply to sniff out the vampire, but he didn’t really complain. The fact that she tried so hard to be independent actually amused Ray and made him want to learn more about her. Women who were that difficult and lived such a life as an executioner must have had one hell of a childhood.
With a slight shrug that could have meant a numerous amount of things, Ray slowly began to walk after her. He wanted to find out just how she would deal with the vampire and anything else about her. More importantly he wanted to learn about how he could become an executioner. He really liked the idea of becoming one since it would allow him to hunt some of the most dangerous prey and get paid for it. As he followed her he watched as she stopped suddenly. It was then that her power rolled off her and he realized that she was definitely more then human. She was some sort of necromancer and must have been hiding her powers previously in order to better sneak up on the vampire. Ray was a little pissed with himself that he had allowed someone with supernatural powers stand right before him without even having a clue about it. However, the fact that she now had powers to boot only made him more intrigued.
Ray watched silently as the women’s power searched out for a few minutes. He then went out on the move once more making sure not to loose sight of her. He smiled excitingly as he watched her leap atop a tree as if she were some sort of lycanthrope. Ray didn’t follow however, enjoying the safe ground much more then jumping from branch to branch like a cat or squirrel. The vampire being as hurt as he was didn’t get very far and soon enough Ray and the girl who had been tracking him were in sight of the creature. The executioner was up in a tree and Ray just standing next to it, both apparently watching the foul beast. The vampire was wounded, but that in and of itself was dangerous. Rogue vampires were usually mad and blood loss and blood lust made them even worse.
With a sigh and a realization that perhaps he should be nice, Ray leaped up top the tree effortlessly. Ray perched upon a tree branch slightly above the woman’s not sure if the branch she was on could hold both of them. He then whispered down so that the vampire would not hear him, “You know he is aware that you are close by. The second you used your powers to find him he could sense you. If you go down there now he will immediately blitz off to try and live for another day. However, I doubt he would be very aware of you if say a werehyena was distracting him. If you asked, I could go down there and make sure that he retreats towards the tree so you can jump down and kill him…” As Ray finished his statement he swung upon the tree, moving upside down so that his legs kept him sturdily upon the tree and his head faced her.
Scarlet Morti - December 2, 2007 09:49 AM (GMT)
Scarlet was aware of the lycan behind her following her, almost dog like she thought as she continued her tracking, still her face was angry at the efforts she was pulling to what she would have already killed if it wasn’t for him. She almost laughed as he whispered to her, if he knew any better he would keep his mouth shut and out of her way.
She watched as the lycan jumped ahead of her in the branch above, showing no doubt that he was stronger, better, faster… fuck him! She scowled as he jumped effortlessly into the tree, almost beads of sweat were dropping off her, but she preferred being higher, she preferred the clean air as she jumped; She closed of her thoughts, hid her power strongly and closed her eyes.
Her own cemetery opened before her, coldness swept over her, the air disappeared, nothing living walked across her memories, it was the place of strength she went when killing, where no feelings or confusion would cloud her thoughts.
She just flicked her hand at the lycan, “ get your food somewhere else you have done enough” she tried to kept her voice calm and cool, the anger seemed to flood away as coldness of the thought of finally killing engaged over her, she watched as the vampire nursed his wound, he knew she was there, hiding, waiting, but it didn’t matter the feeling of the water eating him inside like humans to acid clouded his thoughts for survival. That was how she killed in the state he was in she could walk up behind and simply stab him, but he smiled instead. She waited calmly; she pulled out another bottle of holy water and loosened the lid, just in case.
Finally the vampires back was towards her, only a few feet away, she tensed her body, slowly pulling her dear human muscles towards her, she waited in mid pounce to hear a whimper from the vampire, it made her grin harder as she jumped landing swiftly behind him, he turned blood splattering her as she entered her blade home, pulling it up throw the heart, she pushed it in and watched the cross flare to life, a blinding light as the blade slid threw completely, he fell to his knees and Scarlet swiftly pulled out her back sword and sliced off his head. Dead…
Scarlet examined her dead vampire on the floor, a small smile playing, messy, but a clean cut was always boring, Scarlet looked down at her clothes, her hands were red and was sure every other part of her body as well, but it never bothered her, she slaughtered and deled with blood daily. She pulled out a small white piece of material, pulling her knee up so that her foot was resting on the dead corpse she cleaned her sword, again before putting it away she splashed it down with holy water, and did the same to her cross, twisting it so the blade pulled back in she clipped it on her belt.
The cool air whipped her hair around her face as she slowed her breathing, the taste of blood and the smell of burnt flesh filled the air, still the holy water was eating throw the remainders of the vampire. No scars tonight she said happy, yet still her arms had a couple fresh scars from this vampire the other night…
Ray Benjamin - December 3, 2007 05:13 AM (GMT)
Ray watched silently attempting to get some answer from her. It was during this time that her power suddenly shut off. No longer did he feel the cold power of the dead flowing from her. She had shut her self off from the dead that surrounded them and not only that she had apparently shut her emotions off. No longer could Ray smell the familiar scents that all humans carried. He could sense no fear, no anxiety, not even anger, nor lust. She had gone to some darker space, one where there were no emotions just silence. A part of Ray, the animalistic side, told him to leave now that something was amiss and it would be his life that was lost if he lingered. However, the human side, the side that enjoyed keeping his life in danger did not move. He wanted to stay and find out just what would happen. Even as the woman turned to him and insulted him by telling him to go now, he still didn’t move. He could care less about her idle threats; he wanted to see what sort of things she would do.
Ray wanted to argue, but his curiosity on what was going to occur caused him to remain silent. He watch excitingly as an emotion did come over her, a mixture of anger and a form of ecstasy. He could feel her anger for the vampire where he was, but not only that. He could also feel a sense of joy she knew she would attain after slaying the bloodsucker. She was a sick twisted little puppy, but Ray didn’t try to judge for he too got those same types of urges when he killed. Ray watched happily as she suddenly charged the whimpering vampire coming at him with just human speed. However, the wounds of the vampire slowed it down, made it cower like a pathetic beast. Whoever sired the beast would not be proud of it now as it wasn’t even able to keep up with a human due to some holy water wounds. Ray remained calm as he watched the blade pierce the creature and the large cross come to life and easily make work of the blood letting monster. Ray smiled and watched as the woman rose from her kill like a predator after a successful hunt. She may not have fed like an animal, but her body was matted with the blood of her prey like an animal. He thought it fairly ironic that she hunted beasts, but that she herself was more alike to them then she could ever imagine.
Ray nimbly leaped from the tree landing on the ground without even trying. He slowly made his way over to the girl, clapping loudly as he did so. Ray even gave out a few howls in order to better emphasize what he was about to say. Ray then gave a small bow and said, “Wow girl, you are tough. I didn’t think you could toast that pointy tooth so easily, but you did it. So you are an executioner? Never met one before, let alone a female one. Towns I been too, not much reason to have one where I have been. I have to admit it looks real fun, where would one go to get the shiny badge you must need in order to hunt like that?” Ray practically jumped around giddy after the kill, seriously wandering whether he should sign himself up for the job of an executioner. Of course, his reasons, for hunting lycanthropes and vampires would be a little different then all those humans who wanted to help their common man.
Scarlet Morti - December 4, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
Scarlet heard a soft thump behind her, she turned around alarmed her dagger coming inches away from the lycans neck, she wondered if he would try to bash past her for a bite to eat, but by appearance he seemed to have little emotion. She reopened her walls that were tightly plucked around her, letting her emotions finally go, a slight cindering effect as they danced around happy to be free, Scarlet often wondered why such “emotions” existed, she never felt that there was a good enough reason…
She opened her power, she was tempted to send it towards the lycan, but knew it would be disrespectful even for her, instead she scanned the surrounding area’s absent mindedly, she didn’t concentrate on such, but knew that if worse, her powers would aware her of a new arrival, she didn’t remove the dagger while he spoke, it was only haunting his Adam apple as he made his speech, a slight tone of enthusiasm hinting the words.
“ You wouldn’t know the first thing, An Executioner takes years” her eyes scanned the lycan “ And for you maybe longer” she just simply walked away, she wondered where she had settled her Animator equipment, after her work before the hunt, a good daily dose of both worlds.
Ray Benjamin - December 5, 2007 05:19 AM (GMT)
Ray actually chuckled as the dagger grazed across his neck, almost nicking his adam’s apple. Ray watched curiously as one minute the woman executioner seemed to be completely blank and the next there. It was as if one moment she was a robot and then immediately after her emotions flowed back like a flood breaking through the gates filling her with life once more. He thought it rather amusing that she would have to go through all that trouble just to be able to cut herself off from the guilt of the kill. He assumed that she didn’t want to turn into some monster like the ones she hunted by reveling in the hunt too much, or feeling guilt. However, by cutting herself off she became so much more then that. He wondered what just exactly would occur to her down the road if she continued to act they way she did. However, Ray did not worry for her, but rather was intrigued by it.
Ray’s smile did not falter as his own thoughts were cut off by the insult of the executioner. He actually almost laughed as she insulted him further stating that it would take him years to ever even dream of accomplishing the job of executioner. He then watched as the woman seemed to storm off completely sure of herself. He thought it rather amusing that she would go to such lengths just to try and show him up. He would have to make sure to immediately look into being an executioner. With a little bit of luck he would be able to bother the woman again and show off his new little badge. He chuckled to himself as he now slowly made his way back to his apartment, his thoughts already picturing the look on her face when she would once again be able to see him, doing the same thing that she so prided herself on.
Scarlet Morti - December 6, 2007 04:12 PM (GMT)
Scarlet felt a small tingle on the back of her neck, she wondered if she had been to hard on the young man, but after all she had nearly lost her kill, but on the other side another executioner would help her out, she picked up her black animator bag and slugged slightly with the weight. She pondered over the thought as she saw the man no far away.
Deciding at last minute that she would go over and speak with him, not mentioning any such apology, she would just maybe see what tricks he had, she smiled at an image coming to her, quickly forgetting the weight of her bag she started to run after the man, gently slugging until he was finally not far away, she took a breath to call out but no strength was left, her throat was roar, and still he seemed to speed up, she was sure he could feel her behind him.
She decided to do the only easy thing she could she sent over her animator power, casting it out as it rippled, strong yet distant, finally the man seemed to slow down. She took a breath licking her lips “ Okay, I’m starved do you want to get something to eat, and we can…talk” she said trying a smile yet it lacked strength and didn’t reach her eyes.
