Title: X-x The Dream- Her Bloodline x-X
Description: TAG - Darla Strigoi
Rose Muertos Sangre - November 10, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
Rose had earlier sent a message to the Mistress of the city, After The mistress had asked her to report each one of her new “dreams” Rose was not going to go against a direct order.
Rose walked up the steps to the front door slowly, as she formulated her entry slowly trying to figure out how she would explain herself… but before she could knock a Manservant had opened the door.
“ Rose Muertos Sangre, her to see the Mistress of the City if she is available” The servant only nodded and walked off leaving the door open, like the last time, Rose hurried on to catch up, closing the door firmly behind her as the servant led him to the Mistress’s office, knocking once he waited, and so Rose stepped back once and waited also.
Gerard - November 16, 2007 03:57 AM (GMT)
Gerard was all ready in the office of the Master of the City. He was invited here to enjoy a very pleasant game of chess with Darla and some light conversation of politics and philosophy. No one in the manor had even looked twice at his arrival and instead walked arm and arm with Darla. She had even come to greet him near the door. Sure, it was not her that opened it but that did not matter in the slightest.
The chess game after some explanation to Darla caused the game to become far more interesting for the both of them. Every piece on the board would represent someone within the city based on power and importance. If you moved a piece on your side it was because you could command them to do such actions. The basic rules of chess applied to many of the pieces but if you could identify what the other person’s piece represented and in turn could move them with your influence so could you move that piece. It made it a very interesting game of gambit, guile and manipulation. If you extended yourself too far or revealed far to much of what you could do it would no longer be a surprise. It was a game wrapped up within many.
The moment Rose walked and knocked on the door with a smile Gerard took one of the white pawns that represented Rose on Darla’s side forward into a position that could be used to take the piece and place it in peril of one of his other pieces.
Darla Strigoi - November 16, 2007 12:32 PM (GMT)
Seated near the fireplace of her office, opposite Gerard, Darla smiled slightly and arched a brow as she looked down at the game for her next turn. After having the rules of this new twist in an old game explained to her, she had settled into the game and found herself fascinated by it. She loved rules and logic, and educated guesses as to which piece represented whom were turning out to be more involved than previously thought. The fact that Gerard had given her the white pieces whilst he had the black had made her smile, reflecting on Gerard's constant refferals to the dark during their meeting at his manor, and almost wanted to let him win the game just to see the black envelop the white. She never had liked white.
Moving a pawn to react to Gerard's previous move, Darla looked to the door as she sensed the arrival of Rose and watched as the door opened on a manservant and her newest Kiss member. Nodding to Rose in greeting, she turned back to the board at the sound of Gerard's clothes rustling slightly and watched as he moved the pawn he had easily identified as Rose early in the game. Giving Gerard a flash of her predatory smile, enjoying the fact that they were playing out what could be done against somebody who at that moment was not a foot away from them, Darla moved a pawn that only she knew represented the police to be behind Rose. She knew that would show Gerard who that pawn was, but it was worth it as she knew he would find the reference to her punishment a few nights ago amusing.
Turning back to Rose, Darla rested one hand on the small chess table and turned her body slighty in the confines of her chair to look at her properly. Motioning to a seat she invited Rose to sit closer to the game with her neutral smile, waiting for Rose to greet both herself and Gerard, hoping slightly that she would forget and allow the chess to take an even more interesting turn.
Rose Muertos Sangre - November 16, 2007 03:51 PM (GMT)
Rose bowed low in front of them as she entered into the room
she curtsied, close to the table, but never touching as her knees hovered a few inches away from the floor. She had a slight temptation to hold on to the table for support, her hand quivered but rested in place. "Mistress Strigoi, I hope I am not intruding." Rose said gently as she bared her throat to the mistress,
After turning to Lord Anlui, she did the same, remembering her last mistake, she too addressed him her eyes remaining on the floor "Lord Anlui." She had learned her lesson and planned to try and follow all of the vampires ways.
Even if such weren't in her nature…
Darla Strigoi - November 16, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
Rose had taken her lesson on board it seemed, both a pity and a good thing in Darla's mind. Although she had been so enjoying the thought of another amusing punishment the fact that Rose was no longer making mistakes and thus reflecting her errors onto herself was something more important than enjoying the heard-earned embarassment of another.
Moving her lips to the offered throat, Darla pressed them against the skin just hard enough to give the outline of her fangs in slightly more pressure than that which simple skin gave before pulling back and watching impassively as Rose greeted Gerard.
"Were you intruding then you would not of been permitted to enter here Rose."
Darla's eyes drifted over Rose for a moment, taking her in, then flicked to the chair she had motioned to before settling back onto her game with Gerard, it was his turn and she did not want to spend it watching Rose when it was the younger vampire's 'turn' to speak.
Gerard - November 20, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
Gerard noted the movement of yet another pawn that represented the police. He quickly eyed the rest of the board as Darla pressed her lips to the younger vampires skin. It was a lycan tradition but it still held merit in the court of a vampire. Even in the dead blood stilled flowed around the arteries of the neck and all it would take is a displeased nip of fang to inflict enough damage to send her from the room. That would not happen unless she completely forgot her manners and if she did Gerard had another wonderful idea to make sure she stayed in line. The fact that he was coming up with punishments for one of Darla’s vampires were not lost on him.
When Rose turned to him and dropped into a curtsey he made her hold it there and did not even acknowledge that she was waiting for him. It was a small way for her to remember just who she was dealing with. Not that she would forget the night spent in the jail Gerard had made sure of that. He took the white queen and moved her towards the white king opening one of his power pieces to place the king in check. “Check.” Only when his move was done did he turn to Rose. She had spent just enough time in the curtsey that even for a vampire it would begin to become uncomfortable.
Instead of pressing his lips to her neck he wanted to be greeted in the traditional vampire way. “Rise Rose.” He waited for her to do so then reached down to take her wrist and bring it up to his lips. All the while his blue eyes were on hers. To show his continued displeasure instead of the usual kiss he let his front teeth nip softly at the skin before dropping it and settling back into the game to watch Darla’s next move. He had an idea of what was going to happen next but it was always far more fun to watch the wheels turn in the Master of the City’s mind.
Rose Muertos Sangre - November 20, 2007 04:15 PM (GMT)
Rose almost wobbled on her curtsey as the Mistress of the city pressed her teeth, but she forced herself to hold it as still as possible, she was pleased by the greeting of the mistress, which is more than she could say for the other vampire.
She kept her curtsey in place even if doing so killed her legs; just before she was about to collapse on the floor, the vampire spoke. Rise Rose she felt tormented slightly by his attitude, but knew by far she deserved nothing less.
She looked at the mistress’s second gaze towards a chair, she walked over and picked it up, putting it down a distance away from what looked like a chess board, keeping her mouth shut and her eyes on the floor as she stayed as quite and invisible as a mouse.
Darla Strigoi - November 21, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
Arching a brow as she watched Gerard and Rose, Darla soon turned back to the game once Rose went to fetch the chair and stared at the board, half thinking on her next move and half thinking of the greetings that had just been performed. True she had humoured Rose in giving the more lycan greeting, but the fact that Gerard showed their displeasure for the both of them and was thinking of punishments for her vampires, despite her inviting him to do so, was making her mildly irritated. All the vampires of good standing and knowledge seemed to of vanished from America and left her in Miami with ones not worth having, save Natasha and Gerard, and she was growing more and more annoyed with the lack of good vampires. Pollution of the bloodlines, lack of education, wanton siring, the vampire world was going to pot and she was not happy.
Moving her mind back to the game, Darla contemplated the best way to remove the king, herself, from Gerard's check, without endangering any of her pieces. Well at least none that mattered. With her police behind Rose and her other pieces spread before her, she had tried to keep herself from Gerard's side of the board as much as possible. Though she had consented to the game and was enjoying it, she did not want to play with Gerard's side, knowing that everything was where he wanted it, as was her side, and messing with that arrangement seemed wrong to her. She knew it to be a great disadvantage, but it was not a simple game of chess and to make a mistake was not something that was just tallied on some chart to be forgotten in the next round.
As she looked at the board, Darla spoke to Rose without looking at her, her tone neutral. She may of asked Rose to report to her, but she wanted to focus more on the game than the vampire,
"What do you have to tell me then Rose?"
Rose Muertos Sangre - November 22, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)
Rose kept her eyes on the floor, “ mistress, I have come back with what you ordered, about my dreams and if I had follow ups” she tried to keep her voice as flat and natural as she could, yet a slight awkward tone indenting a slight fear could be heard on the back tones. She licked her lips and took a deep breath; her voice was low as not to disturb much the game that she dared not look at.
Rose tried, searching for words that she couldn’t place, she looked down at her bag that lay on the floor lingering on the journal she had kept with her, the journal that’s pages were mattered in dreams or so to call nightmares.
“ I don’t know how best to explain it, It seems as such that she is is is “ she hesitated on finding the words “ manipulating my dreams into a split reality, where she shows me how to change it” she frowned slightly as she thought of the rest of the dream, not daring to bring up the idea of being superior, how her “master” had put it.
Gerard - November 24, 2007 06:38 PM (GMT)
Gerard studied the way her hand moved over the pieces as she searched for a move that not only would get her out of danger but would also strengthen her position on the board. She did not have many options left and he was making sure that they would fast be dwindling. He could almost feel the way the emotions moved through her eyes. True, she could hide it from most of her kiss but Gerard could see it behind the perfect mask of beauty. So he decided to make the game far more interesting. Her power pieces had dwindled in power since the moment he arrived in Miami and this weakness would not do for someone that he was courting.
He moved one of his bishops that had been terrorizing the pawns slowly and methodically and took the white queen with her. Then without a single word he replaced the black bishop with the white queen. It was to be a gift and he looked up at Darla to see if she recognized the move he made. Sure she would have no idea who the piece really was until they talked about it but the fact that he was giving her a piece that could become a true second that was an entirely different story.
“I will have you in mate in six moves.” There was a slight smirk rising up on his lips before she turned to rose and bade her to speak about why she had come to interrupt them. Then the youngling vampire talked about dreams and omens that would have been very interesting to Gerard. Vampires did not dream which meant that someone else was trying to speak with her if Darla was not inspiring the visions when she woke. That could mean many things and interference of such a power in the city could only be an omen of itself.
This would be something they would need to speak of at a later date when Rose was not in the room. Having an unschooled vampire going up in power was a wonderful way to cause trouble and Gerard was enjoying the state of the city all to much.
Darla Strigoi - November 25, 2007 01:19 PM (GMT)
Arching a brow with a hint of her wicked grin at Gerard's choice of wording, Darla looked away from his eyes as he made a move and instead focued on the board, her eyes hardening for a moment before looking back up at him with a mildly curious hint to her smile, but only so Gerard would be able to make note of it. She knew that Gerard was giving her a piece that he deemed capable of being second to herself, but it was a mystery as to whom that piece was. And she was not entirely happy with having Natasha removed.
With a quick edit in her mind Natasha became a bishop to replace one of the vampires wiithin her kiss whom she knew was powerful enough to be third had he not been so easily led, and so she had the mystery second and Natasha as her main power pieces, something that made her frown softly. Her kiss was indeed weak, the weakness of the vampires within it and the lack of numbers as a whole adding to the decay of her power base. Having Natasha as a third was not an ideal place to be. She may of been a good vampire, and loyal to Darla, but she did not have the bite to accompany the growl as Darla did, and she could only anticipate that a bishop of Gerard's would have that bite at the very least.
Moving one of her pieces so that it could now defend both the black bishop and the white king, Darla looked to Gerard to let him know that the move signified she was thanking him for his gift and that she wished for the bishop to stay so that they could talk on it later, Darla then turned to Rose with her face once again neutral.
"Change what Rose? If you do not have the words to explain then I shall learn what you have to tell me by other means."
Rose Muertos Sangre - November 25, 2007 05:45 PM (GMT)
A dark memory past across Rose’s mind, she felt her body freeze, she was sure someone had done so to her before, yet the exact memory was hidden under layers, layers of fuzziness and confusion. She shook her head slightly as she planned to describe what had happened exactly.
“ I Have had two dreams so far, In the first one it was just darkness, closing in around me, the sort of darkness that send shivers up one such as I” she did not imply to all the sense of fear, as she was sure that wound anger the presence of 2 powerful vampires. “ Every thought that crossed my mind was interrupted, it was disturbed and I had a reply from a voice, a voice of no face, I found myself in a pink dress, she told me to change the colour” she shivered slightly on the chair, as she opened her mind back up to her memories of her dreams, her nightmares.
“ It was easy, though still a dream it was as if she was giving me control on how to change it, she called her self the Queen of Nightmares” Every word Rose said was not bewildered or let down slowly, each word haunted her, even the neutral face that lay across the Mans face opposite her, she knew better to believe he was ignoring her words.
“ The second dream was much like the first yet it was not darkness that held the room, but sunlight” she cleared her voice trying to keep it neutral yet the words were pure horror, “ as though dieing under sunlight the pain so intense, the voice once again assured me I was dreaming, even under the pain I was forced to change the dream to make the light go away, yet still it changed to the thought that lay in my head. This time I had made more of a contact, this time I was in the presence of a hooded figure “ she shook her head as she wished she could have gotten a full on view of the figure
” it was impossible to see under her hood, but a feminine line held her body in grace though her voice was much deeper and intense” she paused for a second thinking back to the exact tone of the woman’s voice, her own power hanging on each word. “ As you know Mistress my past is still hidden to me, yet this figure brought a spark of recognition, I have found a way to put up my guard and stop her from entering my head, yet it is difficult and tiring, but still there are images and dreams she forces into my head, trying to contact me. I don’t know what to do” Rose’s voice never meant to be vulnerable yet the tension of fear in her voice raised slightly, she hated it and paled slightly at how weak she had proven herself in front of her superiors, weak and terrified for nothing more than a dream.
She shuffled her feet slightly her eyes staying on the floor
Gerard - November 27, 2007 04:46 AM (GMT)
Gerard listened to the way the vampire talked about her dreams. He was not sure what bothered him more the fact that a supposed council member had taken interest in this vampire that had lost her memory or that she was attempting to teach her while under Darla’s control. Either one of those assumptions could prove to be something fatal for the one standing in front of him. The sheer fact that that Miami was on the radar of the council bothered Gerard more than he had to admit.
Could they be using this one to gain intelligence about the city, Darla or even Gerard himself. That was a more unnerving question. He was sure that Belle and a few of the others would wonder why he came out of reclusion when the new Master of Miami was chosen but to act in such a clumsy way did they expect him not to see it. Perhaps this was something to draw them both out and learn more regardless he was going to be careful around this one that while she opened herself to the dreams that she did not communicate back with the council. Gerard still had enough pull with the council to learn where their attentions were and he was going to attempt to find out.
Instead of voicing these thoughts he refocused himself on the game. Darla might think of these things first but until he knew what was going on he would not trouble her with such thoughts until it was necessary. So he made a new move on the board showing how even with the queen that Darla was still in danger from his other pieces. She would never be safe from him though that was exactly what she wanted.
Darla Strigoi - November 27, 2007 03:25 PM (GMT)
Listening to Rose though her eyes remained on the game and Gerard, Darla gave no hint of her thoughts to either of the others present, her eyes distant as she thought on the possibilities of what Rose was telling her. She already knew that the council had been looking towards Miami with increasing frequency, but she did not know the exact focus of their gaze. Having not heard from them or had any unexplained things happen in her city, she knew that they wished to be unnoticed. The thought filled her with scorn. The supposed elite of the vampires and they could not even watch a city from afar without it being noticed by its inhabitants. If they thought that Darla was one to back down they were sorely mistaken. She had spent centuries at odds with the council, the fact that she had slain her master and his entire Kiss as revenge and to reclaim her own home had made them unhappy. Not that she gave the slightest care. She had been within her rights to do so, and no council would be able to tell her otherwise.
Refocusing her gaxze as Gerard made another move, Darla returned with a move that put one of his pieces at a disadvantage, though not in danger as that would of involved more risk for her piece.
"You are not to speak to the one you see in your dreams. The pain of the sunlight is nothing to what you shall bring upon yourself should you risk my city by talking to this woman, especially if she is who she claims. If she claims she knows of your past, no matter how accurate it seems, ignore her and come straight to me, do you understand?"
Rose Muertos Sangre - November 27, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
Rose nodded her eyes still focused on the floor “ Yes Mistress” she said her voice was distant but firm on the fact she would follow the Mistress of the cites commands and rules.
With that she felt her duty was done, “ Mistress, I have reported all I have for now, I do not want to intrude any further” she rose from her chair and curtseyed low to the mistress of the city and then Gerard.
“ Goodnight” she said addressing both, her curtsey turning slowly from both as she went and took the chair back to where she had taken it.
