Title: A Proper Introduction
Description: Attn Adelphus or any other Pack Members

Christopher Henley - October 29, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
Christopher had been rather busy these past few weeks giving his expertise on a couple ghoul cases and one serial lycan killer. It turned out that the same moron of an animator had caused both problems in the Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery and now was apprehended for two homicides and many injuries. The asshole who thought it was fun to hunt lycanthropes was being tracked down and SWAT was awaiting to apprehend his ass today. With a pat on the back for helping to catch this 'hunter', the Sarge gave him a couple days leave after working so much overtime on the Serial Shifter Killer.

Chris had missed Katt these last couple weeks, but they chatted on the phone or left messages so she knew that it wasn't just a one night stand with her. Just thinking of her made him want to just barge into her tattoo shop and take her out for the day. They both had been so busy, and he knew better than to do that so he decided to meet with some more of the Pack.

Other than the hunt and his date and a half with Katt, he hadn't really conversed with too many of his Pack mates. Throwing on a short sleeve black t shirt with silver writing that read Watch out I bite and throwing on a pair of work boots, he made his way out to the truck. Catching himself in the mirror, he decided he should run a comb through his hair instead of looking like he just woke up.

After running to the bathroom and satisfied after a few swipes with the comb, he was in his truck and off to the Pack home. The drive was rather boring except for some asshole who almost t-boned him right before Chris slammed his brakes as the guy ran a red light. Where's a cop when you need one? he laughed it off and continued driving, enjoying the feel of the air flowing through the truck with all the windows down.

As he pulled onto the street, the smell of wolf perked his own wolf's ears up as Chris parked the truck. With a sigh he climbed out and walked up to the house. This was a nice house, very secluded and in the middle of everything as well. It was hard to achieve that, Chris knew cause of his house hunt. He went with secluded. A knock on the door and he stood on the steps awaiting any wolf who would open the door, knowing they smelled a wolf before he even knocked on the door.

Adelphus Beckett - October 30, 2007 12:55 AM (GMT)
Running his hands through his recently cut hair, Adelphus combed back the now short wet strands and wiped away the condensation on his bathroom mirror. Not long having got out of the shower he smelled of jasmine and underneath that wolf, and his skin felt soft and clean. He was relaxed. Apart from his now curious appraisal of his hair. Short and spiked was not normal for him since his days as a gang leader in Tokyo, and bringing it back was a large step for him. Kelsi's questions about his past had made him realise that running from the past was not wise, but accepting it as part of your future was a good course of action.

Pulling on a rough black kimono with white edges, he had just finished tying the strap around his waist that blended into the background when his wolf lifted its head and looked out the window and down into the drive, having scented one of his Pack.

Moving to the window Adelphus looked down at Chris and smiled despite the other wolf not being able to see him then turned and padded barefoot down the hall, down the stairs and onwards to the front door, opening it on Chris with the smile still in place and his hair already drying into soft peaks.

"Christopher, wonderful to see you again. Please, come in."

Christopher Henley - October 31, 2007 10:18 PM (GMT)
The smell of wolf surrounded him and he closed his eyes basking in the warmth that seemed to radiate from the house. The scent that dominated them all seemed to get stronger, Adelphus was home. Chris smiled as he turned back to the door just as it was being opened. He had cut his hair since the Lupanar.

"Thank you. It is good to see you to" Chris said as he lowered his head enough for the Ulfric to take notice that his wolf and he both knew his place. Chris was a dominant, but it was still his King and he deserved respect.

Walking in as he was invited, he slipped off his work boots and continued in to the home. It was a charming place with the flair of the East from his Ulfric's taste he was sure. There was more than one person living in the home which surprised Chris a little.

"Thank you for letting me see you, I hoped you would be home. I guess I didn't even think to call ahead" he rolled his eyes at his own mistake. "I haven't really spoken with anyone except Katt since the hunt and I wanted to be near the Pack more and I wanted you to have a chance to get to know one of your wolves better too."

Adelphus Beckett - November 1, 2007 10:00 PM (GMT)
Nodding in recogntion of Chris' submission, Adelphus shut the door once Chris had walked into the house and followed him, dark eyes quietly observing the way Chris looked around the house, watching his behaviour. Both he and his wolf trusted Chris, but he was still the newest member of the Pack, they had not met before the hunt, and so Adelphus too wanted to get to know him. He just started that process in a slightly more quiet manner.

"Not calling ahead is not a problem Chris, any of the Pack is welcome here at any time. It is your home just as it is mine, or at least I hope you will all see it that way. As for Katt, if you were to talk to anybody from the Pack she would be one of the ones I would pick, indeed I did pick her did I not?"

Smiling, Adelphus motioned Chris to move into either the kitchen or the den, not minding which one he chose but wanting to let Chris decide where he wanted to be. He had smelt Katt on Chris the moment he had come to the door, but it was not something he was going to muse on. They may all be his wolves but they were people too and people had privacy.

Christopher Henley - November 1, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
Chris nodded, he liked that this was the Pack home and didn't need an invitation. Perhaps it could become a second home, he thought. He smiled, "Yes you picked a great woman." Chris didn't want to seem mysterious about her, but he didn't want to blab his personal life especially when it included the Freki of the Pack.

As they came to the end of the hall there was the den or the kitchen and since he was leading he assumed it was his choice. They both looked inviting, but Chris chose the den, more sitting options. "Adelphus, you can ask me anything. I know we are both unfamiliar with each other, but rest assured I have the utmost respect for you and all of the Pack I have met until the prove they do not deserve it."

That was Chris's attitude toward most anyone, the Pack would be no different. Running his hand through his hair he took a seat. "I do have one question for you though Adelphus, how long have you been Ulfric of the Pack? I have only lived in Miami for near a month now, and a week of that was unpacking before I had even met you."

Adelphus Beckett - November 1, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
Following Chris into the den, Adelphus smiled and nodded at Chris' words, his eyes softening slightly at the way Chris planned to handle Pack life. It was so close to his own way of thinking that it made him like Chris all the more and he clapped him in a friendly way on the shoulder as they both took a seat. They did not need words to see that they liked and respected each other, and that was good in his book.

"I have been Ulfric of the Pack since it's birth two months ago. I came from Japan and saw that the wolves of this city had no family, no safe haven amongst their own kin, and set out to change that. Now here we are."

Christopher Henley - November 2, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
Chris smiled at the pat on the back. He liked Adelphus, he was a good man with good intentions, they both knew it so there was no reason to say so out loud. Chris nodded "So I didn't come along to far after its birth. That is good to know."

With a sweeping glance around the room he smiled at the decoration tastes, clearly the Ulfric's. His eyes stayed on a picture of the Pack that was hand sketched. He looked at all the faces, Katt made him smile, then there was the quiet submissive girl who had a sweet side to her, then there was the one who couldn't control his impulses, and the geeky girl. "Did you hand draw that?" There were a few other faces in there but none he recognized. "Its very good."

Chris's wolf was rather silent, unusual for him. He assumed it was because he was in the presence of his King and was merely paying respect. "I know you don't know very much about me, but I am truly finally happy with where I am in life right now. That includes my place here in the Pack."

Adelphus Beckett - November 3, 2007 05:31 PM (GMT)
Smiling as he watched Chris take in the house and the picture, Adelphus nodded and took a seat gracefully.

"Thank you. I drew it the night after the Pack was formed, hence you not being on it. Though I do intend to rectify that. As for not knowing you then I hope to rectify that too just as you may know what you wish to about me, and am very glad you feel that way. Life is always more lived when it is enjoyed."

Christopher Henley - November 3, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
Christopher nodded as he spoke of the night he drew the pack. "Thank you. You don't have to re-sketch it or add me in but thank you for the offer."

Adelphus seemed like a private man and Chris didn't want to over step his bounds by asking too many questions, so he decided to be more vague. "So I see the influences of Japan all in your home, did you grow up there?"

As he listened to the Ulfric's answer he sat quietly. "How did you grow up? What is your past like?" Chris hoped these weren't too probing, he just wanted to know more about the man he served allegiance to.

Adelphus Beckett - November 5, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
"I was born and raised there, and arrived here just three weeks before the Pack was born."

Smiling at Chris as he nodded in response to his answer, Adelphus settled more comfortably in his seat then blinked softly. First Kelsi and now Christopher wanted to know of his past. This was not a coincidence, if such things even existed.

Giving a slight admonishment to his ancestors in Japanese beneath his breath, Adelphus smiled slightly and tilted his head as he regarded the wolf before him. He owed Chris answers to his questions for both similar and different reasons to Kelsi, but they were wanted all the same.

"I grew up in a fairly normal Japanese household, though my abilities for education made me one of those more sheltered children whose parents try to keep them safe as an attempt to nurture what they have, not realisisng they often end up over sheltering their children. My past however, is not so simple a story, but if you would ask it of me I would not deny you."

Christopher Henley - November 6, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
Chris nodded at Adelphus. "Wow, fate sure does have a hand in our lives doesn't it. You end up in a foreign land and suddenly it is your home with a family to care for" he smiled.

Chris nodded once again as he spoke of him growing up in a sheltered life which usually got the kids in more trouble than if they were more exposed to life. He knew lots of guys on the team who grew up in sheltered homes where their shielding did more harm than good. One of his friends ended up dead from alcohol poisoning at a kegger one night.

Chris pushed the thought out of his head, he didn't need old memories that he couldn't change clouding him right now. "I don't want to pressure you to tell me, just curiosity. And I can tell you about myself afterwards so you don't feel I am bottled up and unable to share or anything" he grinned.

Adelphus Beckett - November 9, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
Adelphus couldn't help but return Chris' grin, finding the relaxing nature of it infectious. Relaxing back into his chair he shrugged slightly and smiled, running a hand through his short hair a moment.

"How about this for a fair compromisel then, I ask a question then you ask a question and we continue the pattern? You or I can start, it will be up to you."

Christopher Henley - November 12, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
Chris gave another smile at the man, "A 20 Questions of a sort. Alright I will cut my questions down to one." Chris did jump into Adelphus' past, but now he will let him answer the question asked of his past with whatever information he wanted.

"I will go first. What is your past like?"

Adelphus Beckett - November 12, 2007 10:16 AM (GMT)
Adelphus smiled his defeat at Chris' question. Oh the joy of general and open questions such as that, there was no specific information required...though that could also be an advantage.

"Mixed with both good and bad things, I am proud of some moments and hate others. What about yours?"

Christopher Henley - November 14, 2007 05:32 AM (GMT)
Chris couldn’t help but laugh at the sheer vagueness of the answer. “Alright, that was a little too vague, but I guess I will late it slide” he shrugged still laughing a bit.

“My past has been joyous and upsetting, angering…” he could give the same vague answer, but decided against it. “My childhood was pretty joyous, I was an only kid and I had found my love early-Baseball. My dad was so grateful he could help with my passion. My mom went to every game and enjoyed hosting team parties.” Chris couldn’t help but smile at the thought of his mom.

“Pretty boring after that until my mom found out she had cancer. She actually passed away” he swallowed hard; it was still hard to talk about it, maybe because men never really talk about their feelings. “It’s been me and my father ever since. He is completely supportive about my wolf and pretty much anything I take an interest in.”

Chris spread out his hands, “So that’s my life story. Well in a nut shell.” He looked up not realizing as he spoke, his gaze went to the ground and not at his host. Chris couldn’t help but smile at the thought that popped into his head at the question he should ask, “Anything specifically shape the person you are today?”

Adelphus Beckett - November 14, 2007 09:09 PM (GMT)
Laughing along with Chris, Adelphus spoke with a teasing but friendly tone before sitting back to listen to Chris.

"Well ask a vague question get a vague answer..."

Listening to Chris, Adelphus was glad that he had had a relavtively happy childhood, despite the sadness of his mother passing, and he was happy that Chris had nothing bad to talk of. Though that made his own life seem like one of those gods-cursed soap operas that he avoided like the plague. After a brief pause the hint of teasing laughter left his eyes and face and he looked at Chris, perfectly serious.

"Being a gang leader in Tokyo helped me know how to lead the Pack, though we are a lot more friendly than those I used to lead. Being alone for my first shift taught me independence whilst at the same time showing me the value of family, something I had not enjoyed as a child because of their over-bearing protectiveness that I was too young to comprehend. And killing people made me realise how precious life is and how much it needs to be protected."

Christopher Henley - November 24, 2007 06:45 PM (GMT)
Chris’ brows knit as he was listening as if filing each word in his head about Adelphus’ past. If his face seemed a bit astonished that his Ulfric was a gang leader, he hoped Adelphus did not take offense. It seemed he had learned a lot on the streets of Tokyo.

Chris nodded as the Ulfric finished. “If you did not have my utmost respect before that question was answered you would sure as hell have it now” Chris said matching the serious tone Adelphus held before.

“I truly think everything else can be learned through polite conversation instead of 20 questions” he said with a light tone, restoring the happy atmosphere. “May I ask how many wolves live here with you at the moment? I remember many faces at the Lupanar, but how many are just passerbys and how many truly stuck around I am not sure.”

Adelphus Beckett - November 24, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
Smiling slightly at Chris at his words about respect, Adelphus nodded his thanks and folded his palms together as he listened to what came from Chris next.

"I find that is much nicer than being quizzed yes, but at times it is the most effective way of learning. In total we have 4 wolves not including myself who have stayed constant. Others have left for other cities or have decided that Pack life did not suit them."

Christopher Henley - November 28, 2007 09:25 PM (GMT)
Chris nodded at the amount of wolves. "Pack life isn't for everyone" he said semi thinking out loud. "I know when I was younger it sure as hell wasn't for me" he chuckled.

Sticking out his hand and standing up, Chris smiled. "Adelphus, I truly appreciate you giving me your time this afternoon." Shaking his hand he turned to start walking out of the room. "I believe I have done exactly what I had come here to do. If you need anything, please just call."

With the drop of his business card that held 3 different numbers to get a hold of him, he headed out the door with a wave. Yes, I have found exactly where I belong he thought as he climbed in his truck.
