Title: Drinking To Gain
Description: .:: Lions would be nice ::.

“Ah hell, sod off and leave me be would ya!” She’d had enough of everything as it was. She’d had no luck finding the Pride. Jake hadn’t phoned her or emailed her or anything and her nerves where being ground down into an ever so fine dust. She needed to find a place to stay soon; there was no way she could afford the motel she was staying in if Jake didn’t phone in with some good news. She needed a job and she didn’t even know where to begin looking. Serious mood swings where in order when all she wanted was to crawl into her cheap bed. Nothing seemed to be going ok for her since she’d stepped off the plane.
“All male baby. You know you want it as much as me.”
She froze, beer bottle half way to her lips as her eyes slid over the guy nearly double her age. She could smell the lust on him, and the alcohol. He honestly smelt like he’d been sleeping in public toilets. Disgusting. The smart arse comment that had been about to pass her lips lingered as she eyeballed him and cocked her head to the side. Suppressing a shudder as she put the bottle down she turned to him and smiled “If you don’t go away the bouncers will be the least of your worries mate.” Well it worked. He may have been cute in that drunken one night stand kind of way but from what she knew Ravers Paradise they frowned on trouble and dealt with it with force. He flipped her the finger and trundled off like a lost sheep looking to creep out the big bad wolf. Or more likely in his case, pass out somewhere after trying to get in another girls pants. Picking the half empty bottle up again she took another swig finding herself swaying gently to the music that played all around.
It might have been the fact that she wasn't wearing what she normally did. Clothes, well they didn’t matter much anymore to her, but the leather trousers, buckled biker boots and white tee-shirt that hugged her in the right places was, well,…different. Oh well, if she could not trust in Jake Henderson to help her out finding the local Rex she’d sure as hell find his attention by standing out in a crowd. At least that’s the way she saw it.

Joss was out in the city and
actually at one of the clubs. She knew that if Shana was here she would probably die of a heart attack. Two miracles had happened that night, Joss had willingly gone to a club, and she was
dressed for the occasion as well. She wasn't covered in grease from head to toe and that was a rarity for this young lioness. She was out on the dance floor moving to the beat of the music she smelled another lion. However, this was a lion she didn't know.
She blinked a moment and followed her nose till she saw and heard what was going on. She watched as the young lion told him to sod off and she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. She was the protector of her pride and this lion was not one of the pride members. She moved over to the girl as she sat down on a stool next to her. She took in the girls appearance and made a few mental notes. She nodded to the bartender who nodded back, tossing her a Guinness and she caught it, shaking it up as one would normally do.
"Well that was rather interesting. Though it looks like you managed your goal of getting him to leave you the hell alone," She said as she took a long swig of her drink and set it back down on the bar, looking over at the girl. She could tell instantly that she was higher then this one and she didn't hide the fact that she was one of the dominant lions in the group.
"Name's Joss. And who might you be?"
Jayden Marshal - October 22, 2007 01:14 PM (GMT)
Oh she wasn’t alone and from the scent, lion. That was good, goal accomplished! She’d found a lion without trying that much. Huh, maybe she should have put up a bit a fuss with the would be Casanova.
"Well that was rather interesting. Though it looks like you managed your goal of getting him to leave you the hell alone…Name's Joss. And who might you be?""
She smiled inwardly. Oh she'd tagged a dominant to. There was no denying it from the way she held herself. Hell, she’d have to play this carefully. As much as she liked danger and adventure she could honestly say that getting her arse handed to her on a plate was something that she didn’t want. It would give her more of a reason to stay and work out what she was going to do.
“Jayden Marshal, been looking for a lion since I’ve got here.” There was no mistaking where she was from, the accent was plain enough. Lucky her that it wasn't the local Rex, her mouth would have shot off before she'd had a chance to say hello.

“Jayden Marshal, been looking for a lion since I’ve got here.”
She nodded a moment to her and took a swig of her beer. She could tell that she didn't want to get her arse handed to her on a platter which was a good thing. Joss was after all the enforcer of the pride and protector of the Rex and Regina of the pride. Therefore she had to be pretty damn tough to deal with all the other members of the pride. She looked over at the girl again and nodded, extending her hand towards her.
"Well Jayden, nice to meet ya. I would say you're a bit of a way from your home country. Well now you found a lion, but I'm guessing you're looking for either the Rex or Regina of the local pride here? And if you are, I'm going to need for you to explain to me why so I can make sure that you will cause them no harm," She said as she looked at her, her eyes showing nothing about what she was thinking or feeling. She was completely calm and relaxed. She knew that this girl would have to answer her questions if she wanted to talk with the local Rex and Regina.
She took a swig of her beer again as she looked around the room a moment, seeing who was all here. She looked back at her, making sure that she didn't betray anything of what she was thinking. She wanted to make sure the girl got the point she took her job very seriously.

Ouch. She really wanted to strangle Jake Henderson. He’d either not been in contact with the local Rex or he had and little Miss Obvious Enforcer here hadn’t been told jack. She was betting on the former. “Look, I want no trouble with anyone, I was told before I left that the Rex from my old Pride would phone ahead. I’m thinking of staying and I didn’t want anyone dogging my steps because I’m a lion without a Pride so I've tried to look for the locals but I just end up chasing my tail in circles and calling it a day.
She shook her head and downed the end of her drink, so she wasn’t exactly the best person to explain anything. She just got on with life and what it threw at her. Being out of her depth was a new thing for her and she’d been out of her depth since stepping on the thrice damned plane at Heathrow airport. Biting her bottom lip she smiled thinly “I guess if this doesn’t work I’m going back to London. My family doesn’t exactly know what to do with me now you see. Catholic born and bred, they might deny it to my face but I know they think of me as an abomination in the eyes of God.” Jayden stilled, of all the things to say out loud she had to say that in front of someone she didn’t know. The old saying knowledge has power flitted through her mind and she shrugged it off.
She sighed and hand a hand through her hair “You scare me Joss. Is that what you want to know? I’m a Sub no matter how hard I like to think I’m not I know what I am. Attacking a Rex and his mate? Please, there’s nothing to gain in doing something so stupid and suicidal on my account.” The bitterness that spilt from her mouth had nothing to do with dreams of grandeur and power, no, it came from being everyone’s punching bag and she’d had enough. Her mouth had run off the rails but she didn’t care, everything she spoke was truth weather she liked it or not.

She nodded a moment and thought a little bit. She didn't know if Jon and Regina had gotten any phone calls, but if they had, everything would be cool and calm. She was just doing her job and making sure that everything was in order. She finished her drink in a few more swigs as she gathered her thoughts and listened to the girl as she spoke again. She felt a sting of guilt a t the next thing she said and she knew then that she was going to apologize.
“You scare me Joss. Is that what you want to know? I’m a Sub no matter how hard I like to think I’m not I know what I am. Attacking a Rex and his mate? Please, there’s nothing to gain in doing something so stupid and suicidal on my account.”
"Well at least you do have a good head on your shoulders I'll give you that. Listen, I didn't mean to come off as such a cold-hearted bitch. It's just that I don't want anything bad to happen with the pride here. And I take my job very seriously. If you want me to, I can talk to the Rex and Regina and see if they got a phone call. If they did then this will all be cool. If not, they'll probably want to talk to you," She said as she smiled towards the girl. She thought a moment and looked over at again. "You got a place to stay? Cause if you don't I live in an apartment around here and you can come and crash a few days till you get your feet here." She said as she smiled over at the girl, hoping to calm her down a little bit.

Jay chuckled calming down “Don’t worry about it. I’ve been a little stressed lately I guess, I just don’t do to good explaining things. I haven’t been since I was at school. I just freeze up.” A smile found her face and she looked out over the crowd, of all things she was searching for the jerk from before. Call her old fashioned but from where she came from people did watch out fro each other and a drunk passing out in the street was something that happened often when they'd had a skin full of alcohol and hadn't managed to stagger to their doors. Not seeing him she gave up, he could have been anywhere by now.
"You got a place to stay? Cause if you don't I live in an apartment around here and you can come and crash a few days till you get your feet here."
The first thing that reared its ugly head was anger. She wasn't a charity case! But then again she didn't have enough cash to last her the week. Sighing heavily she nodded curtly "Ok, sure, that'd be great actually."

She could tell that offering the girl a place to stay had made her angry and she shook her head. Hey, she was just watching out for her. Besides, if you didn't have a place to stay in Miami it was hell. The streets were not exactly the nicest place to be at night. Especially if you were a female, then it was just plain bad news. She shook her head as she accepted and she looked around the place then back to her.
"Stress can make explaining even the simplest of things the hardest. And hey, sorry if I pissed ya off slightly. I didn't mean too, I just know how mean the streets can be. And having to spend even one night on them...well I wouldn't even want to do that," She said as she finished off her drink, motioning to the bartender for another one. She had been working like a dog trying to get the shop up to par with everything else she had a lot on her plate, and only the smallest amount of that was for sanity.
((OOC: Sorry it took so long for me to respond...evilness that is school reared it's head.))
Seth Owens - October 31, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
Seth looked around the dimly lite club hoping to spot a main stage. He had been intown for about a week and hadn't had a chance to look at the local clubs to find paying gigs.Running a hand though his brightly dyed hair he had his way to the bar hoping to find some to talk to about who hired the bands around here.
Sitting down he ordered a soda and leaned on the bar watching the two girls next to him chatting softly. He couldfeel something, maybe they were fellow Lycans. He wasnt to strong to be able to tell on his own.
Jayden Marshal - October 31, 2007 09:13 PM (GMT)
Jayden smiled "It's not that, it's just something a friend’s father beat into me as a kid, ‘don’t except charity’” she shrugged and couldn’t help but chuckle “That was before I could, well you know, hurt him back if I wanted to…” she drifted off into silence as the bar tender came back with Joss’s drink. The scent of another Lycan caught her attention and she visibly stiffened before relaxing again. No one would be stupid enough to start anything she thought before her eyes landed on the guy that had just sat down. Him? He was the Lycan that had made her think about bolting for the door and waiting for Joss outside. Huh, life was just full of perks she thought before turning to the bar tender and ordering another drink.
Seth Owens - November 1, 2007 11:45 PM (GMT)
Seth laughed at something the bartender. He had been directed to seek out the Master of the City to get on the band list for her clubs.Well that was one step forward he thought to himself.Taking a sip of his drink he looked around the crowded club as the Bartender went off tyo tend to other people.
He glanced at the girls next to him wondering if it was just him or if they Lycan like him.He could smell the dustyness that usually clung to Lions.
