Title: Ofeerings of Peace? or Not?
Description: ATTN: Sigurd

Guy - July 18, 2007 09:42 PM (GMT)
Guy moved throughout the room serving as his study carefully. He had bought the entire rune set so he could study them, but he did intend to give two to Sigurd as a gift. He placed thsoe two upon his desk, tir and beorc, both in their reversed positions. He was relatively certain Sigurd would understand the meaning, and hopefully decorum would force the viking to accept his protestations of la ck of knowledge.

He settled into his chair to await Sigurd.

_____-

OOC: tir and beorc reversed mean: failure in a domestic or family affair in a competitive event.... at least, best anyone can tell me

[ooc: After Sigurd’s meeting with Darla]

Sigurd left the private office of his mistress, quite glad that it had gone so smoothly. As he made his way through out the hallways, Sigurd felt a familiar power. The fact that he had felt such told him that perhaps the man wished to be found. Sigurd followed the trail of power, as if it were breadcrumbs and he a bird. When he finally reached its source, he found himself within a large room, no doubt the source’s study. When he looked towards a chair, a smile curled across Sigurd’s face, Guy. Sigurd moved leisurely through the room, reaching the man who was seated. Sigurd gave a small bow to him speaking as he rose, “Hello Dark Scribe. It is good to see you this fine evening.” Sigurd did not speak further however, his attention caught by an object on the desk before Guy. They were two runes, created by his people back in the olden times. Sigurd noticed the words tir and beorc, quickly noting the way they were positioned and the new meaning it gave them. Sigurd allowed that smile to remain upon his lips, wondering if Guy had learned about his culture explicitly on Sigurd’s behalf or if during his travels he had learned such. Sigurd did not bother to point out the runes as he awaited some reply from Guy, confident that the tactical vampire would point them out in due time.

Guy smiled at Sigurd as the norseman walked in. "Good evening, Sigurd. I hope the evening finds you well." He motioned the norse vampire to a seat. "I wish to thank you for transmitting my request to your Nimir-Ra for me. While I was persuing a section of the city I stumbled across an artisan who had crafted a very fine set of Nordic runes and thought to make a gift of them to you." He motioned to the two sitting upon the desk.

He carefully watched Sigurd, assuming that his guest woiuld take the full and proper meaning of the gesture. He continued speaking, "However, I'm afraid that I've never had the occasion to learn much of them, aside from a couple of the more common ones used for warding. I thought perhaps you might also be willing to enlighten me as well."

Sigurd allowed the smile to remain on his face even as Guy says good day to him. Sigurd only nodded his head as he listened to Guy thank him for his favor. Sigurd got much more interested however, when Guy mentioned an artisan who had actually made the runes on the table. Sigurd silently made a note to find the man who had crafted the runes and speak to him about exactly that. He wanted to know exactly how he had known how to make the runes so accurate and was a little more then intrigued by it all. Sigurd’s attention quickly snapped back to Guy however, as the man brought his attention back to the runes sitting on the desk. Sigurd kept a neutral face as he looked at the runes having already gotten their meaning when first entering the room. He nodded his head as Guy talked a small thought in his head telling him that Guy must have known enough to position the runes the way they were. Sigurd gave a smile to the cunning vampire as he said, “Do not fret my friend, what I did was nothing for it benefited my animal to call as well. As for the runes, I am quite pleased that you have taken an interest in my people and our culture. It would be an honor to help you in any way possible in concern to them.” Sigurd allowed that smile to remain on his face, a sort of mask, as he wondered what exactly Guy’s motive was.
