Title: Getting to Know You
Description: Attn Kelsi

Christopher Henley - July 8, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
Day three of securing the Pack house, he had started installing an actual alarm system in the house yesterday and today was the day to finish it up. After figuring out that a electricity doesn't favor lycans, he had it pretty much programmed. Chris wrote the code on a piece of paper and stuck it on the refrigerator, every one needed to eat so everyone would see it.

He washed his hands. looking at the already fading back chars from live wires on his hands. He walked around the house and then found his way outside. He wiped his forehead on his white tank thinking he should have opted for shorts instead of jeans today. "Move a few spare clothes to Pack House" he said out loud as he walked out onto the back porch.

One thing he liked about the house was the calming nature of the back yard. The wind picked up a little and he glanced around taking in all the colors and everything surrounding him. "Weed garden beds" he added to his nonexistent check list. He needed shade and began walking toward the gazebo to find Kelsi, the resident computer intelligence division of the Pack. He had to come up with a better word for geek, and his politically correct mind came up with that. "May I join you?" Chris asked walking up the gazebo steps.

Kelsi Whittle - July 8, 2008 02:41 AM (GMT)
The day had been rather boring. Kelsi had done a load of laundry, which included her undergarments, and a pair of dark-green boxer briefs. She had taken one glance at them then wondered how the hell those had gotten in her room and then left there. The question was easy to remedy, but she had been too lazy to call him. She had noticed that her new Ulfric, Christopher Henley, was working on the electrical part of the new security system of the house. Though it looked as harmless and easy as plugging in a hair dryer, he seemed to be having a tad bit of trouble with it all.

Somehow through all of the dullness of the current moment in time, Kelsi had grabbed her precious laptop and made her way outside. The gazebo, Kelsi had found, was a great place for her to just unwind and work on things. She had seen the previous Ulfric, Adelphus, here a lot, and found the mere usage of the place to be a dedication to him. She still wondered why he would have left the pack, and had typed many questions she wanted to ask him, but couldn’t, on his file. The newest updated file, though, was Ulfric Chris’s profile. Kelsi had written negative, positive, and neutral comments on it, as well as a few questions, facts, rumors, and points. She was just finishing up another question when Chris’s voice shot through the quiet atmosphere like a dull-tipped arrow.

Startled, and not wanting her Ulfric to see what she was typing, Kelsi shut her laptop, only then realizing that the action immediately shut down her computer. She had lost all that she had typed and thought up, along with some very important data that she had come across. Closing her eyes for a few seconds, and only opening them when she was looking back down at her computer, Kelsi sighed in defeat. Obviously the laptop was smarter than she was. “Of course, Ulfric,” Kelsi said, getting over the evilness of her laptop while at the same time trying to be as humble to the new leader as possible. She really didn’t know him as totally dominant to her like this, and didn’t really know how to act yet, because of it.

Christopher Henley - July 8, 2008 03:37 AM (GMT)
He quirked an eyebrow at her as she seemed to jump not realizing he was standing near her. "Sorry I didn't mean to interrupt you Kelsi." Chris smiled at her use of his official title, still not quite used to it just yet. "I appreciate the formality Kelsi and the greeting, but you can call me Chris." He knew not everyone in the Pack was used Christopher as being the Ulfric just yet, they were in a transitional period still.

Some people were still reeling fro loosing Adelphus, some were in full acceptance of everything that happened, and others were in a sort of limbo and he was trying to ease everyone into a comfortable place. Chris looked around the gazebo, it seemed peaceful here. "Great place for relaxation isn't it?" He pulled his legs up to his chest resting his elbows on his legs. "Not hacking any government systems over there are you?" he asked lying his head back just enjoying the feel of being outside.

Kelsi Whittle - July 8, 2008 03:52 AM (GMT)
Kelsi shook her head at her Ulfric, saying silently that there wasn’t anything important that she was doing and that it was fine, even though the first was a lie. She forced a smile on her face as Chris used her name, though she really didn’t mind the nickname ‘Geek’ that she had been given. The first definition of ‘geek’ is ‘a peculiar or otherwise dislikable person, esp. one who is perceived to be overly intellectual’. To her, that was a compliment. How the term was changed into what it is now from ‘a carnival performer who performs sensationally morbid or disgusting acts, as biting off the head of a live chicken’, she is still looking into.

Kelsi opened up her laptop and put it a tad bit to the side as it started up again, but faced the opposite way so that no wandering eyes could see it. “Chris...” Kelsi mumbled as he told her to use his given name instead of the formal leader’s usage. Kelsi really didn’t know what to call him. If she called him Ufric, she would think of Adelphus first, and the correct herself to think of Chris. When she calls him Chris, she doesn’t think of him having all of the authority that he does now, not that it changed anything at all. She sighed, moving an arm to quickly type in her 21 character long password, using mostly the numerical pad.

“Actually, the Russians have a hole in their firewall, and their password is much too easy not to understand and get. The password is a rough translation of Black Ops, a copy of the Romanians and their not-so-up-to-par government security system,” Kelsi stated, a straight face staying, without any emotion seeping through. She turned to her Ulfric and smiled at his reaction. “I was kidding, Ulfric.” Kelsi let a moment of silence pass through them, and what was sure to be a wave of relief over Chris. “The password isn’t Black Ops,” she said, smirking a bit at the ongoing joke.

Christopher Henley - July 8, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
Chris opened one eyes and quirked an eyebrow at Kelsi. "You geeks scare me sometimes" he chuckled. He gave another look around "At least Adelphus did one thing right. This gazebo seems to be the essence of serenity with the landscaping around here." There was definitely some ill will toward the old Ulfric still from his side of things.

There was too much to do to dwell on the bad acts of one man. "So how are you holding up Kelsi, with all the changes that have occurred. I know most of the pack has gotten used to the new arrangements but I want to make sure everyone is feeling comfortable." Chris was still getting used to the idea of being Ulfric and having Katt as his Lupa, he was sure the Pack was still adjusting too.

Kelsi Whittle - July 14, 2008 02:18 AM (GMT)
After Kelsi had finished her long joke about the password and the differentiating governments, she turned to her new Ulfric to see his face. By the looks of it, he had completely been lost or believed every word she said. By what he had said, Kelsi thought it would most likely be the latter of the two. The female wolf looked up into the ceiling of the gazebo. There were openings on the sides of the top hexagon that shone in the light from the day. She hadn’t ever noticed it before, not even when Adelphus had been around.

Looking back down, Kelsi cleared her throat. She stretched out her legs before crossing them under her body for a more comfortable way of sitting. She didn’t want to have this talk with Chris right now. She respected him, though, and would never ignore a question given to her by him. She nodded to herself for a second, leaning back and forth to keep her mind out of her mind... if that made any sense at all.

Kelsi looked up to her Ulfric and smiled. “I’m doing great, actually... I have a thought to clean up my room due to the changes as well but–” Kelsi stopped, taking a glance at Christopher’s unbelieving stare. “I’m faring okay... or better–” She tried to get words to come to her mouth, but for once in a long time none came. She stuttered, and played with her fingers in her lap, trying to come up with something that could at least sound convincing. “I’m doing well... I promise... solemnly.”

Christopher Henley - July 18, 2008 01:41 AM (GMT)
Lycans can smell a lie, and Kelsi didn't seem to want to admit that she wasn't alright. He cocked an eyebrow as she exclaimed she was great, almost a little too much, Chris didn't have to use his ability to figure out she wasn't telling the truth completely.

"Anyone ever tell you that you can't lie, Kelsi?" He knew she wasn't lying on purpose, more a self preservation untruth, wanting to believe everything was okay. "You and Adelphus were close?" he asked trying to get her to open up to him.

Chris couldn't help but have a bit of a taste of disgust in his mouth at the mention of their old leaders name. He quickly went from mourning the loss of their leader to trying to shield the rest from hurting too much. His energy would not be wasted on hate anymore, initially yes, but everyone goes through that stage. Some just go through it quicker than others.

Kelsi Whittle - July 18, 2008 01:56 AM (GMT)
Kelsi didn’t want to talk about this right now. From what she could see in her new Ulfric, Christopher hated Adelphus. And although she may be a tad bit off with that being one of the harsher standards, Kelsi was blinding herself. She missed Adelphus, and it seemed like everyone else in the pack only saw that he had left them, not the things that he had done before. He had even left them with a pack member capable enough of handling the situation, and standing up. She just could see how everyone else got through it with anger and eventually just forgot about it.

It took more of an effort that she would have liked to admit to take a gulp of fresh air. She had always had a full mind since she was a child. And getting worked up, having things fly into her mind at alarming rates had seemed to occur to her more often now. A headache was forming. She knew what she wanted to say, ‘You hate him. You act like he was never here, like he never did the things that he did.’, but that didn’t seem like the right way to approach this. Insulting the new Ulfric was never a good idea.

Adelphus could be rotting out in a desert with buzzards picking at his skin for all she knew. Kelsi didn’t want to know if he was alive or dead, where he was, or where he could be. She didn’t know what she wanted to know, and so this conversation really had no good result except that she would spill her guts in front of her Ulfric. Sighing, Kelsi put her head in her hands, her fingers intertwining with her hair and digging into her skull, trying to get the thoughts to slow down and the oncoming headache to stop in it’s tracks.

Finally, though, Kelsi decided that it was best to just take it one step at a time. The Ulfric asked a question, and she answered it. It was the simple and efficient way to get her thoughts out of her mind and into the air without having to break down in frustration. “Yes... I guess you could say that... He was like a dad that I had close to me, so I didn’t have to think of the one waiting for me to come home when I can’t...” she said, not moving from her position in the gazebo. A cool breeze brushed passed the two, and it calmed Kelsi down a bit, reminding her that she was still of this world and not disappearing.

Christopher Henley - July 23, 2008 08:00 PM (GMT)
Chris watched Kelis closely, he saw the emotions play over her face as she tried to collect her thoughts, finally putting her head down and rubbing her head with her fingers. There were many emotions flashing across her face, if he hadn't worked for the police for so long, he wouldn't have necessarily noticed them. There was anger, disbelief, confusion, and then sadness. It seemed Chris had opened up an emotional can of worms with Kelsi.

He sat listening, Adelphus was a father figure, Kelsi was one of the younger members of the Pack so he could understand it a little. "Its okay Kelsi, you don't have to tell me." Daddy issues were not his cup of tea, that was one way Chris was a typical guy, not necessarily into all the emotional stuff.

"So other than the couple changes around the pack hierarchy, how has life been treating you?" The wind was starting to pick up and the beautiful sunny day was turning to the afternoon storms that you could set your watch by. Chris could even smell the rain in the air though it wasn't going to start falling just yet.

Kelsi Whittle - July 29, 2008 06:37 PM (GMT)
Kelsi sighed after ending her little ‘pity me’ party, realizing that her Ulfric wanted to hear nothing of it. She shouldn’t have opened her mouth in the first place. It wasn’t her position to do so, and he didn’t need or want to know of anything that had come out of her mouth. Staring at her hands, she entertained herself by starting to crack her knuckles, biting on her lip; anything to get the awkwardness to stop completely.

Kelsi thought about Chris’s second question more than she had the first. She didn’t want to annoy the Ulfric, but she couldn’t get away with lying, either. She had tried that earlier in the conversation. Could she merely stand up and walk away from the conversation, dodging every question that he might have for her in the future. No. That wouldn’t prove to him that she was an asset to the pack, nor could she keep all of what she felt inside of herself. It was better to just answer his questions truthfully. She didn’t mind... or so she told herself.

“Alright, I guess...” Kelsi muttered before a quizzical look bloomed on her face. Maybe she could get an answer to some of her questions without being asked about them by asking a general question. ‘Ugh,’ Kelsi thought. Her mind was going berserk. Sometimes she wished she was a normal young adult, instead of one that had responsibilities out the pores and a mind that won’t shut up. She sighed. “Ulfric?” she asked quietly. “If you keep trying to do things for the good of others, but they just keep blowing up in your face and making other people’s lives a living hell... does that make you a bad person?”

Christopher Henley - August 1, 2008 12:56 AM (GMT)
Such a question from such a young woman made Chris wonder exactly what Kelsi had been up to. He furrowed his brow and gave her question the thought it deserved. His immediate answer was no it doesn't, but he gave more thought than his gut reaction.

"I would usually say no, but I have to know what you did thinking it was in the best interest first." Chris couldn't possibly imagine Kelsi doing anything to screw someone over, even if by accident.

His mind was working and he had much practice at not showing his emotions on his face by playing with the police department. He tried not to use his cop face on the Pack, but somethings you can't change. He was going through each of the Pack members in his mind trying to remember if they seemed any different or upset at something,, but nothing came to mind. "So what exactly did you do Kelsi?" His question wasn't accusing, his tone was more curious and helpful than angry or upset, he couldn't be upset and nothing right?

Kelsi Whittle - August 1, 2008 01:25 AM (GMT)
‘Usually said no’. Kelsi sighed, placing her chin on her arms that rested on her legs. ‘Usually’ mean that, in the terms usually put forth, commonly met with or observed in experience. But there were always those times where the unordinary happened. Which meant that there was a chance that she would get in trouble for her deeds. She didn’t know what he would do with her if things went bad. What if she couldn’t be a part of the pack anymore? What if she was sent away?

Kelsi wouldn’t be able to deal with it. She had nowhere to go, and leaving the city was just about walking into hell barefoot to her. She still had to tell him, though. No matter what could happen, she couldn’t keep a secret like this from him. Of course, when she had done it, it seemed like nothing except for some fun. She hadn’t thought about the illegality of it, or what Jace would have thought about it. But where would she start? Jace coming back? The tracer?

Kelsi had been biting on her nail the entire time. It took a little bit, but Chris seemed to not want to make any trouble, or get her in any for that matter. He sounded more curious than anything else, but the fact that he was a cop didn’t help things at all. “I put a tracer on him...” she muttered, ignoring the fact that she didn’t think before she opened her mouth. “It’s under control now, I guess... there’s a way to get it off... but I just didn’t think...” Tears came to Kelsi’s eyes as she thought about how angry Jace was at her. Kelsi had munched off a good bit of her nail now, and she did everything she could not to look at Chris.

Christopher Henley - August 1, 2008 01:48 AM (GMT)
Kelsi was biting her nails, a nervous habit which meant she did do something wrong and knew it. The words finally spilled forth and he only felt his anger rising. Tracers were way on the side of illegal, its invading a persons privacy. He clenched his jaw not knowing who or why she put a tracer on anyone.

"Kelsi" Chris' tone was even, but anyone listening would have know he was angry. "Who did you put the tracer on?" He was standing now close to Kelsi looking down at her, not remembering when he stood up. She was crying but he didn't even care truth be told. All he wanted to know was who she put it on. His form was looming over the girl, she was practically huddles into a corner and Chris' wolf was pacing inside.

"What on this earth would EVER possess you to do something like this? Did you even considered how this may be used against us? Not even going down the line of it being illegal and immoral" Not once was his voice raised, it didn't have to, his tone was like ice and fire at the same time. It was the tone his father used when he found out Chris had gone out all night and drank until he couldn't walk straight and came home at all hours of the night not giving a damn.

He stood there staring at Kelsi waiting for an answer. He felt his thoughts trickle off to Katt, he wanted her to know what was happening with their pack even if she wasn't there in the gazebo herself it would be as if she was. If Kelsi would have been dominant enough to look up at Chris she would have seen his wolf pacing behind his eyes waiting for an answer.

Kelsi Whittle - August 1, 2008 02:40 AM (GMT)
Chris stood in one swift moment Kelsi flinched, afraid he would hit her. She sat there for a little bit, listening to his words. Even as he tried to keep them in line, anger dripped from them. There was no going back now. She couldn’t take back her words, and she couldn’t just not answer his question. “J-J...” Kelsi shook, breathing through her nose. Her hands clenched and arms wrapped around her body , her head now place on her knees.

“Jace... Jace... I put it on Jace. I don’t know why. I just did. I guess I didn’t want him to get hurt. I didn’t want him to leave again or get atta– ” Kelsi sobbed. Her wolf was cowering, begging and pleading for mercy. As was she, while Chris glared down at her. He was obviously furious. It actually surprised Kelsi that he didn’t kick her out already. Maybe he wanted to see her squirm. Maybe he wanted to torture her mentally for what she had done. The thought made Kelsi angry herself. Why did it seem like every step she took, everyone around her bit her backwards two?

Kelsi’s hands flexed. Her head was pressing harder and harder into her knees, leaving a mark from her jeans. She felt like throwing up. Embarrassment, guilt, anger, every emotion possible flowed up into her body. She wanted to lash out, beg, apologize, anything– anything to make what was going on now stop. “I’m sorry... I’m sorry... I just-... I thought that if I told you... You’d, I mean...” Kelsi finally glanced at Chris’s direction, merely looking at his feet, and thought about what she had just said. “No! That’s not what I meant... I meant... I meant... Hell, I don’t know! I don’t know anymore...”

Christopher Henley - August 1, 2008 04:23 AM (GMT)
Kelsi flinched, which hurt him that she would think he would hit her. Had Adelphus ever hit one of the wolves? It wasn't enough to stop the torrent of anger flaring up inside, no an ice storm would be the only thing to stop him and since they were in Miami it looked like everyone was shit out of luck.

She stammered and it took control not to out right yell at her to spit it out. If something was happening in his Pack he was damn sure gonna know about it. Jace, he didn't even know he was back. That would be a new item on his agenda to square up. Adelphus had given him the title of Eros and Chris couldn't think of any horny dog better for it, but he was not going to sit down and take the fact that a wolf came back to Miami without going through the right channels. What was worse, Kelsi, one of his own, hadn't said a word to her Ulfric or Lupa.

"Stop it" Chris said his voice low, almost a growl. "Kelsi" he started, "Do you even know all the problems you have or might cause? Did it even occur to you that this could be used against us as a Pack? Not to mention bring law enforcement into this?" He shook his head, taking deep breathes to try and calm himself down. It worked, a little. "You have been sneaking around with a wolf in MY city who hasn't even come in to speak to me about being back?" His tone was hard, distant, she was too young to realize her mistake one part of him said, but his wolf pushed that weak thought away, she is Pack she should know better.

"If we came to a war with any of the other lycan groups, what do you think would happen if they found out one of the wolves had something in them they could track. Find out our most weakest points and take us ALL down?" Chris stood his ground not once moving, not once backing away or giving her space, she didn't deserve it. "You can apologize all you want, but what you have done, the trust you have destroyed Kelsi, I don't think you can even possibly begin to know how disappointed and angry I am at you right now."

Angel Echo - August 1, 2008 06:13 PM (GMT)
What was it about the early afternoon sun that decided to shine through her window almost on a day to day basis that annoyed Angel the most? It could have quite possibly been the fact that Angel was by no means a morning person, and chose to wake up in the early afternoon of the day, when everyone else was already awake and wandering around. It could have also been the fact that with the comforter covering her entire body, and the sun shining down directly on top of the bed, it seemed to increase the temperature within the room tenfold. It was just enough that Angel had to shove back the covers to find herself staring up at the pearl white ceiling above her. For a minute, she made a mental note to redo the bedroom decorations soon enough.

Forcing the sleepiness to quickly drain away from her, Angel brought her chocolate coated eyes to the bedside table where her clock stood. She blinked a moment, trying to make sure she'd read the clock right. It wasn't but a little past noon or so. Mentally sighing, and wishing like hell she'd only had a few more minutes of sleep, Angel pulled herself out of bed, walking over to her closet. Quickly changing into a fairly new pink shirt with a rose red color design in the center and her usual blue jeans, Angel had to pause at the door to run a brush through her curly brown hair before she even allowed herself to leave the comfort of her room.

As she walked down the stairs, Angel wasn't in the least bit surprised to find she was the only one anywhere around. In fact, for the most part she found it a bit comforting, to know she was the last one to even contemplate coming down for something to eat. And at the thought of food, Angel could hear her own stomach grumble, as though begging for something, and realizing she hadn't eaten since the previous night helped her make the choice. Steadily walking to the refrigerator, Angel paused long enough to notice a code neatly written on a piece of paper. No doubt a reminder to the pack members that the new security alarm was installed and they needed to remember the code. She made a mental note of it before her search for food continued.

And then became interrupted.

Having found nothing in the least bit, Angel continued her search the cabinets, still finding nothing at all. She'd stopped just long enough to take a look out the window, wondering if it would be nice enough to walk into town to get something. Though, what stopped her was spotting two familiar figures out on the gazebo. Blocking the entrance of the gazebo had been their new found Ulfric by the name of Chris. And seemingly cowering less then a foot away from him was Kelsi. And by the looks of things, Kelsi seemed relatively upset about something. Though as far as what could have gotten her friend so worked up, Angel was unsure, though she was determined to find out. Walking out of the safe house, Angel had just a moment to hear a few words of the conversation before she got close enough that she was on the side of the gazebo, leaning against the rail, directly behind Kelsi.

"What's she apologizing for?" It wasn't much of a question for Kelsi, as it seemed she was upset enough, but rather one for Chris. "She hasn't done anything wrong...To be my knowledge..." her gaze flicked toward Kelsi for a minute, as though silently questioning her as to whether this was true or not.

Gerard - August 2, 2008 06:56 PM (GMT)
The courier to house Anlui moved with near perfect lady like grace. Her raven black hair was done up in ringlets that framed her face as she walked with purpose holding a neatly wrapped package that would contain the invitation for the wolves as well as an added bonus. The courier was in a long ankle length black dress trimmed and embodied with true silver and gold thread done up in the theme for what she was there. Eclipsed suns and masked danced around the dress and fitted black corset top. She was dressed in the finery that marked the house she represented, and her very presence radiated it so.

Her arms, she carried two packages. One significantly smaller than the other. Both were black and carried the same symbols that decorated her fine dress. The box on top held a scroll of beauty, marked with words that were plain in their intention. The Ulfric and his Lupa were invited to attend the grand gala that the house was holding for the newly appointed Mistress of the City. What was not expected was that another was invited to attend. The young wolf who worked so well with all things technological. Her presence was requested as well.

The other box carried something far more intriguing. Inside was a small device locked on to the same transmitting sequence that the young wolf had used to mark someone. This box carried a simple note in flowing yet precise handwriting…
It would be wise to hold your wolves on a tighter leash. Consider this a gift for your little wolf.
Underneath the tracking device was a small but beautifully worked collar of leather and silver, with a leash coiled within.

The courier moved to the door, ringing the doorbell a single time and leaving her parcel on the steps before turning and walking away as simply and quietly as she had arrived. The wolves were busy, but would find the packages soon enough.

Christopher Henley - August 3, 2008 05:16 AM (GMT)
It seemed his wrath was going to have two targets. Kelsi's tag along friend had decided to meddle in something that wasn't even her business. "Then apparently you don't know very much. Of course, you might know something. Kelsi, was she in on your little plan to track your boyfriend or shag buddy or whatever the hell you call him."

His temper was curt short, the doorbell ringing, knowing he should answer it. "Don't either of you move an inch" he growled out before storming off to the front door. Whoever it was better not be someone important, cause they would not like who was answering the door.

He opened the door to no one, but he smelt someone had been there. Someone with a touch of death on them. He looked down and found two boxes. He opened one with his brow furrowed, it was an invitation with the blooodsuckers, though he would never say that to them, he didn't have a problem with vampires, he just knew to stea clear of them. But know it seems, Katt,m himself and his faavorite pup were invited. Why the hell would Kelsi be invited, she was submissive, that was the million dollar question.

As he opened the next box, Chris received the million dollar answer. He growled loudly, sending Katt a mental image of the tracker and leash. Their mating had its perks, no matter where she was he had a permanent link to her. He could feel her own anger coming through in the words she sent him.

"Shit." Words couldn't really describe how angry he was. He stormed out to the gazebo, now not even caring how angry he sounded. He threw the box on the ground, the tracking devise landing at Kelsi's feet. His voice was raised, he was finally yelling, because his pack could have been in danger. "This is why Kelsi! A vampire house had the tracking devise. You are damn lucky you are invited to a ball or I don't think you would be able to walk let alone curtsey!"

With that said he walked out to leave them alone together to talk about whatever they needed to. He didn't have the energy to deal with them anymore. He slammed the door and got in his truck to head to Katt and his home. They needed to talk, about a lot of things. The ball invitation, Kelsi, Jace, and what exactly they were going to do about this whole situation.

Angel Echo - August 3, 2008 06:54 PM (GMT)
She'd picked a bad time to walk out onto the gazebo, that much Angel knew almost instantly by the tone in Chris's voice. Though, having only caught a few parts of the conversation just moments ago, it took her a few minutes to register the question that Chris had posed, more to Kelsi then to Angel herself. Turning her brown eyes to her friend Kelsi, who was still huddled in the corner of the gazebo, as though hoping this much would protect her from Chris's wrath, Angel doubted very much whether Kelsi had registered the question and was willing to answer such a question. But for Angel, the choice was an easy one. Already seeing her friend suffering this much, Angel didn't like it.

She was reminded of a time less than two weeks previously when Angle and Kelsi were meeting in Angel's new lair, one in which Kelsi had helped construct months previously. But she could easily recall the scene as though it had happened the previous day. It was the exact day they'd finished the tracking device - which mind you had taken a month to construct and program properly - As Angel had handed over the device to Kelsi, she could easily recall Kelsi words. A word of warning, as though she knew that something could easily go wrong with all of this. If anyone had found out what the two of them had done, they'd be in more trouble then ever imagined. Surely though, that could be something they could live with. Or at least Angel had tried to say. Though Kelsi could only smile in reply to that.

She'd known in advanced something like this would happen. And from what Angel could gather, Kelsi hadn't mentioned she had an accomplice. Would it have been the right time to mention that, or not? Angel didn't know...

Taking in a deep breath, and bringing her gaze to meet Chris‘s angry eyes, Angel managed, "I helped her create it..."

Her voice trailed off and she was glad when the sound of the doorbell pierced the every growing silence. She watched Chris turn away, warning them not to move an inch. Silently, she waited until he'd walked back into the house before she walked around the gazebo and entered, taking a seat across from Kelsi, her arms neatly folded in her lap, and her head bowed, staring down at the groundl, as though afraid to look up. As Chris stormed back to the gazebo, throwing the two boxes, Angel watched the tracker land by Kelsi's feet and she had a moment to draw in a sharp breath as she continued to let Chris rant.

She listened for just a minute longer and was just about to jump up and shout back at him when he finally turned away from the pair of them and stormed off. Again, there was a moment of silence that followed this before Angel leaned forward, picking up the box that Chris threw down to the ground in his anger. Rummaging through it's contents, Angel extracted a collar and a leash and laid them on the bench beside her before finally pulling from it the note.

To Kelsi, she read the note, "It would be wise to hold your wolves on a tighter leash. Consider this a gift for your little wolf."

Silence reigned for a minute before Angel finally stood up, pacing back and forward within the gazebo. Even her pacing was never a good sign, as it was something she always seemed to do when she was worried about something.

"Come questo potrebbe succedere? Significo so che noi entrambi ha saputo che esso potrebbe succedere, ma non ho pensato che sarebbe così presto. È solo è stato due settimane, ed ora abbiamo preso non solo Chris ha orinato ma forse uno dei vampiri in città ubriaco come bene!"

It was also not a good sign when she started ranting in Italian for any reason. Though by now, Kelsi would be use to hearing this much, so it wouldn't have surprised her at all if her friend knew what she'd been saying.

("How could this happen? I mean I know we both knew it might happen, but I didn't think it would be so soon. It's only been two weeks, and now we've gotten not only Chris pissed but perhaps one of the vampires in town pissed as well!")

(Dun...Dun...DUUUUUNNNN! Bet you guys didn't see that coming, did you?)

As Kelsi listened to what Chris was ranting on about, she could also hear footsteps in the background. She glanced up a bit, tears pooling in her eyes, and saw her friend walking up to the gazebo. She gave a look that proved that she was on edge, and not wanting her friend to get into whatever was going to happen in the end of all of this. She didn’t seem to notice, though, and went straight to Chris, asking him why Kelsi was upset. She pushed her face back into her lap, trying to block it out of Chris decided to yell at her, and he did. Then, the doorbell’s ring drifted through the air, and Kelsi thanked God and every single angel up there that it did.

To the question that Chris asked, or rather, demanded out of Angel, Kelsi was going to deny that she had any part in what was happening, but her friend got to it first. She admitted helping Kelsi, and the blonde couldn’t help but stare up at her friend as if she was an idiot to say so. But Chris stormed off, going to see who was at the door. Before saying anything else, he warned them both not to move from where they were. Angel, of course, started moving around once he was out of sight, and managed to find her way over to Kelsi. Before she could mutter an apology to her friend, Chris’s form was seen walking toward them once again, this time with two boxes in his hands.

As he started to yell again, Kelsi flinched at the threat he gave her. Adelphus had never threatened her in any way, and he this new Ulfric was, threatening to break her legs. He stormed out then, but not before he threw down the contents of the two boxes in front of the geek. She shut her eyes, trying not to let any more tears fall as she saw the leash and collar, and bit her lip when her friend read the note that came with it. Angel stood up then, starting to rant in Italian, which was a rare occasion for her, one of which only genuine anger would cause.

“Pacé...” Kelsi muttered, the only real word of Italian that she knew. Then, Kelsi glanced at the other box. It held a letter within. Leaning over, she picked it up. As she read, her breathing became normal again, her body finally relaxing. She stretched out her legs and leaned on the wall of the gazebo. But one thing puzzled her. The note said that she was to come to the party that only the Ulfric and Lupa from the pack were invited for. She read it a good couple of times before handing it to Angel. “What... what do you think–” Kelsi asked, stopping to look at her friend. She picked up the collar and moved it around in her hands, thinking to herself. Why would a powerful vampire care?

((Pacé: Peace.))

((I’m so sorry for the poor quality of this post. -.-))

Angel Echo - August 5, 2008 09:56 PM (GMT)
It wasn't really too often that Angel saw Kelsi upset. Granted, her friend was relatively to upset, that didn't mean she had to see it all the time. But seeing Kelsi practically fearing for her life at Chris's wrath had not only angered Angel tenfold, but also make her miss the old Ulfric. At least she knew Adelphus wouldn't have yelled, or threatened Kelsi that much that it would have hurt her. Adelphus was more so understanding than that, and to think about that at such a time...It made Angel miss their previous Ulfric more than usual. And that wasn't to say that Chris wasn't doing a good job. He was doing good enough based on the circumstances that were handed to him. That much was all that anyone could have asked of him.

Shaking the thoughts away from her head, Angel had to look away from the contents of the boxes to meet Kelsi's gaze as she brought herself to reach toward one of the boxes, which held something that Angel seemed to overlook when she was looking through the boxes. The further that Kelsi read through the letter, the more Angel begun to notice how much her friend was relaxing, as though whatever the letter had on it was soothing Kelsi just enough that all of the tension she'd felt moments before just seemed to wash away. For a minute, this was enough to pacify Angel's anger toward their Ulfric. It was just enough that she couldn't help but smile softly, realizing this had been the most relaxed that Angel had seen Kelsi in weeks perhaps.

As Kelsi asked Angel's input, Angel couldn't help but take the letter from her friend and skim through it for the first time. Though when she reached the end, she had to go back and will herself not to skim this time so she caught every word of the invitation. It would have been like any other invitation, one that invited not only the Ulfric but also the Lupa. What made this invitation different though had been the fact that Kelsi was also invited. Strange...

Still, Angel read it over, and over, and over a few more times before finally turning it over, as though looking for a line that said 'Just Kidding' though when she didn't find it, Angel set the letter down next to the leash and collar before looking back up at her friend.

"Honestly? I don't know..." she trailed off for a moment, thinking more about the problem at hand. "I mean it's a formal invitation. There's even a seal to prove it..." she looked back down at the letter and shook her head. "You have to go...I mean it's obvious whoever sent the invitation requests your presence for some unknown reason. And to refuse such an offer...It's almost un heard of. It'll make the wolves as a group look weak, for lack of better term."

It wasn't the invitation though that bothered Angel the most. No, that was far from her mind at this point. Reaching down where the tracker device stay lay untouched, Angel picked it up and ran her fingers across the surface. How could a vampire have known about the tracker? That was something that until recently only Kelsi and Angel knew about. It wasn't but a week ago that Jace found out, and then just now Chris found out. How could anyone else have known without Angel's knowledge? And if only one vampire knew about it...Who else would know?

"We're in trouble..." Angel muttered a loud as she continued staring down at the tracker.
