Ansley had been in Miami for two days now, knowing that she couldn't waste anymore time before she contacted the Ulfric of the pack here. If someone, it was just bad etiquette on her part. Not that anyone would have found out, she had been held up in her hotel room. The first night she had arrived she all she had done was sleep, the next she had spent her time lounging and running through the phone book hoping to find the name or address that the Ulfric of Los Angeles had given her. After that she had looked up the directions from the hotel to the pack house. It had been pretty ridiculous.
Grabbing a towel as she stepped out of the shower, Ansley wrapped it around her body and sighed, leaning back against the wall. She hadn't felt this nervous since the day she met her last Ulfric, nix that, since the day she had been attacked. Why? God damn it why? She was too strong to be getting nervous over another wolf, she had been fernir of her last pack, she could have taken the title of Ulfric if she had wanted it, but she hadn't wanted to stay in LA any longer.
A few deep breaths and a backwards count from ten and a smile reformed on her lips, the girl didn’t usually stay angry nor did she go anywhere with out a smile. It took Ansley about thirty minutes to dry off and fix her hair, into the spiraled curls that she wore everywhere. Hell she tended to where them when she was just staying home and walking around in nearly nothing or nothing. A pair of skinny jeans, a baby tee, heels and some lipstick later, she was ready to leave.
She had called Christopher two hours ago, asking him to meet her on pack business. Ansley wasn't sure if he had taken it as something menacing or not, but it was always hard to tell when a wolf from another pack showed up in your town asking for a meeting. Though her bubbly voice probably lowered the menacing level down to a dribble, it was almost impossible for her to appear dangerous until she was in her wolf skin.
Ansley glanced out of the window of the taxi and wrung her hands out, she was honestly nervous that Christopher would say no, that she would be sent packing to another city. She had never looked for another pack and who was to say that her last pack hadn't taken her in because she was a helpless seventeen year old girl with no family. They couldn't have just let her roam around and accidently kill people in her inexperience, they had taken her before she had become and alpha. It would be natural for someone to turn away a wolf as strong as she would.
Deep breath, she thought as she stepped out of the car and handed the driver his due. Ansley turned her blue eyes on the pack house. "Beautiful." She whispered walking up the walk way.
Moving was never fun, even f a beautiful woman was helping you...and that you both could left an entertainment center by yourself didn't help either. It was mid morning and they had already done one trip to Katt's - their - house. They both needed a break, so they hopped in Chris' truck and headed over to the Pack house. They had been a little paranoid about the Pack house. Adelphus lived their and so he could have watched over them, but he and Katt were 5 minutes down the street and they agreed a little more security never hurt anyone.
Chris loved shopping with Katt, he could touch her and tease her all under the watchful eye of customers and employees. Both were laughing as they checked out of the hardware store knowing they left the clerk blushing. A few minutes later they pulled into the driveway of the Pack house. "I will install the deadbolt on the fron door if you can do the one on the back" he asked with a kiss. He watched her go, his grin basically splitting his face. "Damn" he huffed as he opened the front door and began unscrewing the hardware.
Take me out to the ball game "Take me out to the crowd" he sang along with his cell phone before flipping it open "Yello" he answered not even looking at the caller id. He hung up the phone "Pack business aye?" he said under his breath. "Hey hun, I just got a call from an Ansley, she is headed here to meet for Pack business" he shouted to the back of the house.
As he put the last remaining screw, or at least he hoped it was the last one or something wasn't going to work, into the door he spotted the cab pulling up. "Ah that must be my 12 o'clock" he joked to himself. A petite blonde woman stepped out. Chris stood in the doorway feeling it would be rude to close the door just to open it again in a few seconds. She reverberated with nervous energy, his wolf perking up at the new scent then dismissing it, not interested in the woman if it wasn't his mate. "I agree mate" he thought. "You must be Ansley" he said as she reached the door. "What pack business did you want to speak about?" His tone was nice but firm, the tone he had learned from his cop friends, the one you used on someone until you knew whether they were friend or enemy.
Giving the man a once over, it wasn't the look a girl gave a good looking guy, no it was one that was sizing up your opponent. "Yeah, that would be me." She said pushing her hair behind her shoulder and pushing down her nerves at the same time. "I was hoping to move here." It was an explanation with out giving one really. He would no what she meant, but letting him know that she wanted to move into his town. She just couldn't bring herself to say the words right then.
Saying the words made her feel slightly embarrassed, but she couldn't really figure out why it was so. Ansley couldn't help but wonder how informed the Ulfric and Lupa of this pack were of all the ranking members in other packs. Would they recognize her as the Fernir of her former pack? Part of her hoped they wouldn't. She hadn't even realized she had become the challenger back home until other had started addressing her as so. She had always fought her Ulfric every step of the way, because he rubbed her the wrong way, and the fact that he had been a chauvinistic bastard.
Honestly, if they knew who she was, she might have a problem telling them just why she left her position in her pack. It was just really a bad story. Well to her it was, she wasn't sure how they would take it. Oh the woe of a one sided love and the weird places one could end up because of it.
"I wanted to speak to you and your mate about joining the pack." She said locking her eyes with his, he might see it as a challenge most would, but it was not part of her personality to bare her belly to anyone. She only played the shy role when she was flirting and this was definitely not one of those times. Ansley was not one to portray herself as anything other than what she was; it always turned out badly when she did. Placing her hands on her hips she waited for him to answer her.
If his look said skepticisim Chris couldn't help it. I was hoping to move here...with no explanation apparently he thought. He cocked his head as she locked eye contact with him. A challenge so soon he thought. "You want to join the pack and yet you stand here and challenge me through your body language. I truly did not believe the stereotype of dumb blondes, but it seems you have proven them all correct."
"There are two choices here, curve your attitude and show some respect or get the hell out of my city." He was calm throughout, he really didn't have time to cut people down to size, but for her he would make an exception. Never had he seen such blatant disrespect. There were no words as she turned and walked away, Chris didn't even watch her go, instead he closed the door and tried out the new deadbolt. All he could hear was cackling from near the back door as he heard the lock slide home.
He turned to stare in the direction of Katt and couldn't think what she would be laughing at. Lycan hearing was good, but through the whole house with busy wolves scurrying about to try and make sure the house was safe. Chris thought a little bit and then a light bulb went off. When they joined, their wolves, he had heard some mates speak of sharing things with eachother. His own mentor and his Lupa shared an emotional connection with eachother, could they share thoughts? He began walking toward the back door saying "Katt we need to talk!" as he chuckled.
