Title: When Will This Night End?
Description: Amber, and open
Brodie O'Doyle - July 1, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
Brodie had only agreed to come to this place because of his baby sister, Lillian. She knew how badly his last break up was, and wanted to get him out there again. What she didn't say was that they would be going to a club were Brodie couldn't even think let alone breath. He had come with Lillian so she would meet up with a boyfriend, and a "friend" for Brodie. So far, all of the friends that he has met hasn't been for him. He wants a girl that will sit down and talk about her day not try to rip his clothes off on the second date. But, who wouldn't want that? He had to be crazy. So now here he was trying to once again detatch a woman who seemed to want to claw through his body. If he hadn't known she wasn't a lycan he would have thought she could.
Moving away from the woman on the dance floor, Brodie nodded to the bar to give her the universal sign that he would be getting drinks. However, what he didn't tell her was that he wouldn't be back. This girl wasn't for him, and he could tell it my the way she talked, dressed, and acted. Brodie wanted more out of life then the next club or the next time he was going to get laid. She wasn't. So as he moved away from her to the bar he didn't care at all for leaving her behind him.
As he moved up to the bar, he looked around and didn't see anyone remotely that he knew. So much, for thinking that Lillian would be over here. Shaking his head Brodie ordered a water to try and concentrate on getting out of this damn place without anyone wondering where he had gone. Maybe, if he found Lillian he could explain that he had classes tomorrow and couldn't stay out light. Yeah, that might work.
Turning around to go find his baby sister, Brodie ran into someone and quickly turned to apologize. "I'm sorry. Did I hurt you? Oh shit. I'm sorry."
Amber Rawls - July 1, 2008 03:56 AM (GMT)
Air, she needed air and not to be confined to the same space anymore. Amber was tired of being good and wanted to be around people. Best place for that was Miami's nightlife. Amber took a quick shower, ran a brush through her hair and towel dried it before walking to the closet and gave it a once over. She finally decided on a black tank top with silver scrolling and a pair of nice fitting jeans. She slipped on her black boots and grabbed her wallet, sliding into her back pocket.
Most women carried a purse, but not Amber, its hard to lug one around when you are on a motorcycle. She slipped her helmet on and headed downtown. "Street parking, best part about having a bike" she said to herself pulling into a spot in front of the club that a car couldn't have dreamed of fitting in.
After paying the cover she walked into the club suddenly surrounded by people. "Just what I need" she muttered and took breath before walking into the throng of people. She was making her way to the bar when some guy ran into her. Most people would walk off with a grunted sorry, but not this guy, he apologized and Amber couldn't help but quirk a smile. "Its fine, you are actually the first person to apologize for running into me. No big deal." Usually she would have just left it at that but his scent caught her attention, leopard but a different style than herself. She extend her hand and practically shouted over the music "Amber" she introduced herself.
Brodie O'Doyle - July 3, 2008 02:24 AM (GMT)
Brodie sort of froze when he realized that the person he had run into was a woman, but this wasn't just any woman she was a lycan. He could smell her scent, and she was part of his pard. Oh, this was really not turning out to be his night. First he got hooked up with a woman that wanted to eat him alive now he ran into a woman that was part of his pard, whom he had never met. Though he could tell that she was more dominate then the average leopard by the scent of her. Great, he was just running into the wrong people tonight.
When hearing her name screamed over the music, Brodie nodded his head quickly. He sort of wanted to go run screaming because women sort of freaked him out, and lycanthrope women just scared the shit out of him. It seemed as if they were just more weird then the average women with crazy PMS twenty four- seven. Yeah, that pretty much summed it up. Oh, and lets not forget the whole thing about having a beast inside of them that could kill you. Nope, can't forget that.
Taking in a deep breath Brodie started to say his name, but it did not see to want to come out causing him to stutter. Brodie hated when his mouth refused to work around women, maybe one of the reasons why it was so hard for him to talk to the opposite sex. Nah, they were just immune to his dashing good looks and charm. Ri-ight.
"B-b-brodie." After taking in a deep breath Brodie repeated his name more clearly. "I'm Brodie." He quickly tried to look around for Lillian in order for her to come and save him. But what are the chance of that happening on the night that seemed to go wrong so many times? None.
Amber Rawls - July 3, 2008 06:22 PM (GMT)
Amber couldn't help but feel she was holding the man in front of her from something. He didn't look like he wanted to stay and chat and Amber had to think if she offended him somehow. "Well Brodie its nice to meet you" she leaned in closer so she didn't have to shout too much.
He glanced around again, "I'm sorry am I keeping you from your date?" He was a good looking guy and he was at a club so she could only assume he was with someone. Amber picked up on the nervous energy he was giving out. Maybe she had mistaken his scent, there were a lot of them around. No, she thought, he is definitely a leopard.
Amber made sure to back away a little, give him his space and try not to look like she was angry. She placed a smile on her face, which wasn't hard and she tried to look as inviting as possible. "Are you part of the Pard?" Amber asked, deciding to just speak loudly rather than invade his personal space again. She had been out of it for a while confined to a cell then confined to her room until just recently, she could have missed a newbie.
Brodie O'Doyle - July 4, 2008 08:11 PM (GMT)
When the woman in front of him had asked if she was keeping him from a date, Brodie couldn't hide the look of surprise on his face. He really didn't want anything to do with the woman that had come with him tonight. In fact, it would be safe to say that he was scared shit less that she was going to follow him home or try to get him drunk and do very naughty things to him. Either way it sounded like a bad idea to him and staying near his pard was a good idea. Crazy woman, bad. Pretty new kitty, good. Even if she did sort of make him a little uneasy at the moment.
"No you aren't keeping me from a d-date. I'm actually trying to avoid the woman." Brodie looked down at the woman in front of him and tried to give a good ol' boy smile. Or in other ways to say that he was warm less and just wishing this night would quickly end.
However, the woman standing in front of him still kept shocking him. When asked that he was part of her pard it seemed a little different. Yes, he was part of it but he hadn't really met most of the members yet. He had mostly just made himself known to the Nimir-Raj and Nimir-Ra and a few other members. He wanted to keep it quiet that he was a part of the pard because then he wouldn't lose his job teaching the kiddies. So, it was easy for most of the pard to not know him or recognize him when there was a meeting.
"Yes, I am. C-could you please k-keep it d-down? I d-don't want people to know that I'm what you are." Brodie leaned in to whisper in her ear. Of course the loud music could be a cover up, but still better safe then sorry. Brodie couldn't take any chances when it came to these types of secrets.
As Brodie looked over Amber's shoulder to see the woman he had come with tonight walking straight for them. At the site of her Brodie started to panic racking his brain for anything that could keep this crazy thing away from him. Then he looked down at the woman in front of him and gave a sheepish grin. "We are pard and I need your help. My date is coming this way and I want to get rid of her. Will you please pretend to be an old friend, ex-love of my life... something .... anything! I need to get away from her before she rips off my clothes in a bathroom." Brodie quickly whispered his please into the leopard's ear. If she didn't help then it would be a never ending night.
Amber Rawls - July 4, 2008 08:52 PM (GMT)
Amber let out a laugh kind of surprising herself. She must be crazy if he was avoiding her. "Ah so I guess I am helping then" she ventured. He was a sweet guy, it was almost charming that he stuttered and seemed nervous around her. Of course by more than one ex-boyfriend she remembered calling her 'force to be reckoned with' and a 'looming presence a man could never live up to' before they packed and left. No love lost on the past, it was the way she was like it or not.
Amber nodded her head "Sorry I won't bring it up again." She forgot how some people lived double lives almost, not letting any Pard business bleed over to their fake life. Some professions she understood doctors and teachers, but this guy didn't seem to like speaking very much so he couldn't be either of those.
The tension in his body changed as he spotted something or someone over her shoulder. Screwing with people was something she could do and it would add a little more fun. The woman was coming up behind them fast so she had to act fast. "God Brodie I missed you so much after we moved away. I can't believe you are standing right in front of me again." Amber closed the remaining distance between them and wrapped her arms around his neck before whispering right above his lips "Trust me" before kissing him. She made it last extra long trying to keep it as chaste as possible while still making it believable. She broke away and smiled at him before turning around to face a fiery red head who did not like what she just saw.
She couldn't help but give her a once over and thought I could take her Of course that wouldn't be in character with what she had just done. She wrapped her arm around his back and smiled at the woman in front of them. "I can't believe after all this time he looks the same. I can't believe I let you walk out of my life after college, but life has a funny way doesn't it?" She extended her hand to the petite woman in front of her, "Hi I'm Amber. Me and Brodie, well we were almost engaged back in college, I guess friends wouldn't be justice though huh Brodie?" This woman better catch the hint soon she thought still hanging on Brodie.
Brodie O'Doyle - July 4, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
At first Brodie had thought Amber had lost her mind, until he realized that she was going to help him with his little problem. She was actually a very good actress, and looked rather convincing. Though, when she started to move closer to him, Brodie had to do his part as well and make it believable. If they were going to get out of the club tonight he had to play along and do what ever Amber said. Oh yes, this was turning out to be a very interesting night after all.
As Amber wrapped her arms around his neck he was a little shocked. He didn't know they were going to be doing so much touching because he had no idea what type of relationship she was forming up in that cute little head of hers. Brodie found her body tightly pressed up to his and her arms around his neck. Before hearing the two simple words whispered he felt soft lips brush against his. It took a few moments for his brain to realize what exactly had happened, and to remember to kiss her back. Only to make it believable, right? Brodie found his arms wrapping around her waist and pulling the smaller woman closer to his body. Taking only a few second to respond to her kiss, and to keep it as chaste as he could. Though the thoughts of how wonderful she tasted and how good to hold a woman in his arms again was starting to take an affect on him. He wanted to kiss her back after a few moments, and also tired to think to keep calm and not tense up under her touch.
Once allowing Amber to slip away, Brodie was sort of in a daze from what just happened. Wait, did that just happen? He couldn't remember everything clearly at this moment and hoped to God it wasn't just a daydream. Looking down at the woman in his arms, he noticed she was still around him and smiling. Though when directing his attention to the person she was smiling at, suddenly felt like a slap in the face. Brodie looked down at the red head he had come with and hoped she didn't have the famous temper to match that hair.
He just watched to women in front of him as if he wasn't part of it or couldn't stop it. It seemed as if they were about to fight over him, when really he didn't want one of them. Placing an arm around Amber and giving her forehead a kiss to give more of a hint he was happy with her to his former date. However, the words that would soon come out of the woman's mouth seemed to squeeze Brodie's heart until he was almost unable to breath. What this kitty cat didn't know is that the words she spoke were true to his life, just she was the wrong girl. Brodie fought to keep the smile on his face as he looked down at her. As the night was starting to look up, it just got shot all to hell.
"Yes I would say so," Brodie forced out the words. The look the red head was giving the two of this could have been murderous if it wasn't for the snobbish 'whatever' look plastered on her face. "Would you please excuse us, Hannah? I think Amber and I have a bit of catching up to do." Brodie spoke very clearly and forcefully as he started to walk both Amber and himself out of the club. He had lost his stutter the moment his heart started to ach, for his lost love. He was no longer nerves to be around her, but a mixture of gratitude and pain.
Amber Rawls - July 4, 2008 10:45 PM (GMT)
Amber didn't know what to expect when she kissed Brodie, but she had to give him kudos, he played along. Good enough she had to control her kiss to make sure she didn't push it to far with a man she had just met. Of course her reputation would prove it didn't quite matter if they just met. She smiled into the kiss as he wrapped his arms around her, he was good.
It was a stare down, but it looked like the girl was more interested in maintaining her ego than being upset. She felt a change in Brodie, her arm still wrapped around his waist as he spoke to Hannah. He didn't stutter once and she looked up at him to make sure he was okay. Of course, Amber had just met the man, maybe he was just nervous around new people. As they walked to the front of the club Amber turned and waived goodbye to Hannah getting a look that could have killed her.
As they walked out into the humid night air, Amber took a deep breath. She realized she was still holding onto him. She took some steps back and smiled at him. "Sorry if that was too in your face, its kind of how I am. You ok?" she asked looking him over. "Want to take a walk?" Since she had just pretended to know him, she could at least learn a little about Brodie.
Brodie O'Doyle - July 5, 2008 05:24 AM (GMT)
Brodie had started to relax as soon as the cool night air hit his skin. He didn't know why but there was something about the way it seemed on a cool night that made everything stand still and seem as if it would never hurt you. Taking in a deep breath of the air and letting it out through his nose, Brodie physically relaxed. Soon after a few moments he realized that Amber was no longer hooked in his arms but stepping back away. This was probably a good idea because Brodie didn't know how long he could have such a beautiful woman in his arms with out feeling nerves and start to stutter once more.
Once hearing the comment she made about her choice in action, Brodie couldn't help but laugh. He thought it was an good choice to make, because so far ditching her, pushing her hands away, and making excuses didn't seem to work very well for the poor panther. "No, it was wonderful. I don't think I've ever seen Hannah look more displeased in her young life. I am in your debt." Brodie just comforted her, but ignored her question about his well being.
After thinking about it for a moment Brodie nodded his head to her invitation for a walk. It sounded far more appealing then dancing in a sweaty club were most of the people are looking for two things; sex or drugs. Brodie smiled down at the woman as he shoved his hands into his pockets and started down the street.
"So does my savior have a last name to do with that shining armor?"
Amber Rawls - July 5, 2008 05:36 AM (GMT)
Cars passed by on the street in a hurry to get wherever they were going. Not Brodie and her though, they began walking at a slow steady pace, Amber taking a path to walk along the back streets close to a park rather than a city bus blaring its horn as it passed. "So was it a blind date gone bad or just wanted to break a woman's heart?" She tried to tease, but thought she may have come off a little mean.
"Rawls, Amber Rawls. And you?" She looked up at the sky, the moon was half full, she loved looking up into the night sky wondering what vast world may be looking over them. "Trust me, there is nothing shining about me, you are just lucky I am quick on my feet" she laughed. And you aren't so bad of a kisser.
Amber stuck her own hands in her pocket and sighed, "How long have you been in Miami?" Small talk was not her forte, but she could learn. Leave it up to Amber to do everything backwards, kiss first then small talk and you can't forget tricking another woman into thinking she had been his lover in college.
Brodie O'Doyle - July 5, 2008 05:59 AM (GMT)
Brodie's attention was surrounded this woman as if they were the only two people right now and everything else around them wasn't quite real. He could hear the cars, feel the wind of the rush as they passed, and smell the cool night air. He could do all of these things but mentally Brodie just wanted to know more about this woman. In the past year that he has been in the pard not much has happened between him and the other members. He has kept his distance for many reasons, but now he wasn't sure if they were out of fear or shame of what he was. Meeting Amber as shown him that a pard could be there for him if needed.
As Brodie kept sneaking quick glances at the woman who was only mere inches away from him. Licking his lips quickly and trying to keep his mind off of how well she tasted to him only moments ago. No, right now wasn't the time to have goo-goo eyes for the pretty kitty cat. He just met her and wasn't really looking for a relationship now. There was far to many things to worry about: work, his kids, his niece, and lets not forget that lovely little changing of the full moon and going into big kitty. No matter how much Brodie tells everyone that he is happy on his own they don't seem to understand it.
It seemed as if she would just always keep shocking him with questions. Not being able to take his eyes off of her now, Brodie took in a deep breath and forced himself to relax. "My s-sister s-set up the date. She thinks I don't get out enough and a woman would make me happy. Well Hannah wasn't a woman she was a girl with an attitude and hunger for sex. Not my type." Brodie gave a shiver at the thought of her jumping on him in the club.
"I've been in Miami for a little over a year now. I have only talked to a few of the pard members because I wanted to keep a low profile. I teach at a local high school, and people don't like the idea much of a monster around their children. I've only contacted the people I need to in order to stay out of trouble with the pard. Mostly I've been on my own." Brodie explained to her. He didn't want her to feel anything for him other than accept his choice for what he is trying to do. The thought of giving up teaching would tare Brodie up inside.
Amber Rawls - July 6, 2008 12:27 AM (GMT)
As Brodie began speaking she turned and smiled at him, "Family meddling" she laughed. His stutter was cute, she wondered why he had it though, what made him so nervous he had to stutter around her, after all she was Pard. And she had just kissed him earlier, she could still feel the tingle on her lips. She touched them absentmindedly before sticking her hand in her pocket again. "What is your type then Brodie?" See bad at the small talk, just delve right in to a person.
"Oh yeah, I have heard about that. They find another reason to fire you but its all the same. I understand not wanting to get too involved. So you are a college guy then, what do you teach?" Amber was proving to herself that she did need to be around people. Solitary confinement and then confinement to a cell where everyone looked at you like a monster had taken a bigger toll than she thought, but no one needed to know that.
Since she was asking so many questions of him Amber decided offering a little information about herself to ease the conversation. "I have been in Miami for a couple years now, but I have lived in Florida my entire life. Can't find a better state in my opinion. We have sun and sand mixed in with forests and everglades. Plus I love thunderstorms and we seem to get them like clockwork." There, see I can share personal details too she thought.
The back path ran closer to the beach and Amber could smell the salt on the air. "I love the beach." She hadn't meant to say it out loud but she shrugged oh well. "With Miami you get everything Florida has to offer, I think thats why out of everywhere I could have gone I chose here. That and me and Michael go way back. And you, why Miami, best school choice for you?"
Brodie O'Doyle - July 6, 2008 04:59 AM (GMT)
Wow, this woman really knew how to get to the meat of a man. She would ask him such question that a normal person wouldn't think of asking a stranger. Then again, a normal person wouldn't be walking around in the dark with some they had just kissed and pretended to be their long lost ex-engaged lover from college. Who would have thought that the woman to save the night was a lycan like himself? Hell from the same pard even! This night was going to be on his top list for strangest things to happen in a time spanned of twenty-four hours.
As Brodie started to think of the question that had been asked upon her, it seemed he wanted to really give a full answer to this one. He wanted to explain why the woman they had just departed was so wrong for him. Taking in a slow cool breath of night air, Brodie began to explain what he wanted in a mate. "I suppose my sort of woman would have to be genital but rough at the same time. She would want to talk to me when I got home from a bad day at work. Her smile would chase away any fear or doubt about her. Independent yet wanting to be in my arms and allowing me to treat her. Trust worthy, no secrets between us even if it is something that would cause both of us pain. A woman that will let met cook for her and just be a little late to work because that mornings kiss took a little too long. A woman that will love me without thinking of marriage, children, lycanthropes, or any other problems and focus on being with me. You know that kind of woman." Brodie couldn't help but smile up at the moon as he listed off everything in his perfect woman he had in his head.
As Brodie listened to Amber give some insight on her life, it was nice to change the subject to other person. He wanted to know more about this woman who had just helped him out of a crazy mess. Most people would have just walked away and said for him to deal with his own little problem. Brodie looked down at her trying to picture everything she was saying about her life. He could see her sitting in her bed watching the storms roll by, maybe listening to some music in the back ground.
Without realizing where to exactly his feet had led him, Brodie felt sand under him. He could small the sweet salt in the air, feeling the breeze become sharper slapping against his skin. Everything around him felt almost amazing as he had found a new freedom from life. Being with this woman had brought him this, hopefully she would not leave him int he middle of the night like a ghost. A small ping of fear stuck inside of him at the thought of losing her. This was just a one time meeting, but Brodie wished to see her again. To hold her again.
When realizing she had asked yet another question Brodie looked down and smiled. "Yes, I came to Miami to find a school. I love to teach High school English, the teenagers are very entertaining. I want to spend the rest of my life with them, even the bad ones. Though, to say they were the only reason I came here would be a lie. I had to find a local pard in order to keep my sanity. The thought of a leader is comforting, even if I do not spend my time with the rest of the pard. I am starting to see the up side of the pard." Brodie gave her a teasing smile.
"So you've asked me what I want in a woman. What exactly do you want in a man?" Brodie had gained the sort of easy confidence in himself to ask her such a bold question. It seemed the more they talked it came to him that she was human just like him. Or well leopard just like him. Wait, no that wasn't right. Ok she was a lycan just like him. She was like him. Normalish.
Amber Rawls - July 6, 2008 05:44 AM (GMT)
Her eyes never left Brodie's face as he spoke of his type of woman. Amber watched as he seemed to drift off looking up at the moon, its light catching the light catching on the blonde in his hair. His description made her smile at him and she just nodded. Wow was her only thought listening to him, he knew what type of woman he wanted and said it so well.
She truly hadn't been paying attention to where exactly they were walking and before she knew it she was at the beach. Other than the Pard house she hadn't gone anywhere, she hadn't seen the beach since this past winter. She glanced out to the water, the shimmer of the half moon reflecting off its surface, all she could do was take a deep breath of sea air.
"Entertaining, that is the best word I have heard to describe a teenager in a while. I would have said little hell raisers cause that's how I was" she laughed, walking closer to Brodie without realizing it. "Michael is great" she laughed "As much as it pains me to say that. I don't think we could have a better Nim-ra and Nim-raj" she nodded. She caught his teasing tone and smile and couldn't help but laugh at his words.
Amber liked that he wasn't stuttering anymore, that means he must be growing a bit more comfortable around her, she liked that. It took a deep breath and a laugh before she could answer him. "Care to sit?" she asked as she sat down, slipping her boots off and rolling her jeans up looking over the water, her hair blowing back with the sea breeze. "Where were we...oh yes my type of man." Another sigh and she began "Someone I can talk to easily, who doesn't try to take away my independence or try and control me. Someone I can turn to when I need to talk or cry, be most vulnerable with. A man who I can roll over in the morning and smile at and think 'What did I do to deserve you'. A man who can stand being around me for more than two months before splitting." She pulled her knees up to her chest and rested her chin on them, "I want to feel good about bringing a man home. I apparently haven't had the best choices in men, or so all my brothers tell me."
Amber sighed again, she wasn't usually this open with anyone, regardless of how long she had known them. "I haven't had the best luck with the last few people I dated. Lets just say I have sworn off men for about the past 6 months" she shook her head. "Wow I didn't realize it had been that long since a date. And now I am rambling." She shut her mouth and closed her eyes trying not to embarrass herself. Just don't talk again she thought.
Brodie O'Doyle - July 6, 2008 06:35 PM (GMT)
When seeing Amber sit down on the sand and take off her shoes, Brodie couldn't help but smile. It seemed as if the woman would be comfortable anywhere, he thought. Brodie liked this about her, and welcomed it with open arms. Maybe, it was her being so calm around him had given him the courage to be the same with her. This new found feelings were a nice change to being awkward and uncomfortable around most woman, Hannah would be example A.
Taking up her offer to sit int he warm sand, Brodie dropped down into the spot beside her. Soon following suit as the woman beside him, taking off his shoes and stick his feet into the cold water. At first it felt to cold and sort of a shock to him, but these feels melted away into calm relaxation. It had seemed forever since Brodie was able to feel this relaxed with another person around him, let alone a woman. Now he slightly hoped this night would never end, it was just too good.
Soon Brodie could hear Amber talk about the type of man that she wanted. He found that some of things that she spoke of he was always looking for in a woman. Maybe, this could be the start of a friendship. It still pained him at the thought of not being able to see her again. However, Brodie wouldn't think of that right now because he would only become more nerves and revert back to a stage that would only cause him to become uncomfortable.
Brodie leaned back into the say and placed his hands behind his head for support. Looking up at the moon and then over to the woman sitting next to him. It had seemed she was capturing his attention every moment no matter how hard he fought to try to look away. Though, it seemed to be a losing battle once the woman beside him started to talk about her relationships with men. It seemed as if both of them were in the same boat, the people only wanted a physical relationship and nothing more.
"I can understand as to why you wouldn't want to date men. We aren't exactly all known for being little angels. Though, always keep in mind that with every bad moment spent on a person there is always ten more wonderful times waiting for you with the right guy. I keep telling myself every time my little sister sets up these crazy blind dates. Now, it would seem that both of us are rambling." Brodie gave a small chuckle and looked out at the sea trying to avoid shifting his gaze to her. But what Brodie saw next was something that he wished he hadn't, a couple.
A smiling couple was playing in the water a few yards away from them. It seemed as if they would so happy and had no secrets from each other. No cares in the world and nothing but simply loving each other. They didn't have to worry about being a lycan. Brodie shook his head to try and rid his head of these envious thoughts. "Do you ever wish that you could be normal? To be like that couple just down the beach and laugh like them?" Brodie spoke softly not taking his eyes of the young lovers.
Amber Rawls - July 6, 2008 06:59 PM (GMT)
She turned hearing the shift in sand and laid back just as Brodie did. "Women are just as bad, its not just men. Actually I think dating women is sometimes worse" she shook her head feeling the sand sift below her. The water rushed over the tips of her toes, "That is a great way to think though, it sounds like we both have a lifetime of happiness waiting with the right person then" Amber laughed softly.
Amber heard laughing down the beach and turned her head towards it. A couple was playing in the water, he was holding her tight and both were laughing and embracing each other. A small pang hit in her chest, and Amber tried to push it away, she hadn't really had a love like that before. Sure there were good times, but to where some stranger could look over and tell that they were truly in love, she hadn't known.
She cleared her throat, brought back to herself by Brodie speaking, apparently he heard them too, he was a lycan so why wouldn't he. "Sometimes, but I have been through too much with my leopard to want to change it. I've met some of the most wonderful people because of my attack." Shit, you couldn't have just said infected she thought but decided to just go with what came out of her mouth. "Being a lycan doesn't have to take away being happy" she turned towards him "You just have to be patient and the right person who will accept you for who and what you are will come."
She lied back on her back, gazing up at the stars poking out from behind the small black clouds. "And you" Amber asked, too nervous to look over at him "Do you wish you could be normal?" her voice was soft as she asked him the same question he asked her.
Brodie O'Doyle - July 6, 2008 07:23 PM (GMT)
The words that came out of this woman's mouth was very truthful in Brodie's mind. He had met some great people from his attack as well. At times it seems as if being a lycan is a curse but it is always the ultimate freedom. Most humans will never get to embrace something to so wonderful as being a lycan. To be able to be a part of something other then just a normal life, with a average job, and endless normalcy. Brodie half heartedly wanted this, but as he grew older it seemed as if he could obtain these desires and still have the freedom of being a werepanther.
As Brodie shifted his body to move over on his side to face Amber. He rested his head on his hand and the other over his stomach. Right now everything seemed to be going wonderfully, but there was a nagging urge in the back of his mind to kiss her. In the club when their lips touched it was so soft and sweet as if she was something he wanted to get to know more of. Brodie didn't want this to be a one time meeting. The thought of never seeing her again was almost strangely terrifying.
"I do wish to be normal at times, but then I think of how wonderful it is to be in my cat form. Though, the thought of never finding a person to love me because they feel as if I'm a monster is something that would drive me to want to be normal." He looked up into Amber's eyes and smiled.
"D-do you think we c-could d-do this again?" Brodie spoke softly. He had hoped she would get the hint that he wanted to see her again. Maybe as a date-date.

She nodded at his words, not being able to find someone to love was a big fear for most anybody, but lycans especially. Amber looked over at him after he spoke and smiled. Brodie was like a breath of fresh air, he was sweet and kind, and not usually the type of man she would spend her time with, but we all have to grow up sometime she thought. Bad boys were not working out, they were fun but now she wanted something that meant more and it took talking with Brodie to really realize that.
She turned her full body mirroring the man beside her and smiled at the return of his stutter. Without the stutter Amber didn't think she would get the full meaning of what he was asking, but its return could only mean one thing, he was nervous again.
Amber smiled at Brodie, "I would like that." She had butterflies in her stomach at saying that, she never had that before. She reached her hand out to touch him and nodded her head more for herself than him, "I would really like that."
Amber lied back down fully on her back, so she wouldn't have to look into those wonderfully blue eyes and get even more nervous. "Where would you like to go? I take it clubbing is out" she gave a soft laugh, still not looking at him. He made her nervous, that was something she wasn't used to, he seemed to ease through all her defenses and get right to her core, have her open up without even prodding. That fascinated and scared the hell out of her at the same time. But good things hadn't been happening lately to her, so she would go with the flow, maybe fate had something in store for them both.

The words that came out of her mouth almost shocked Brodie. He hadn't actually expected her to take his offer, even though he really wanted her to. So now they have an actual date! If he wasn't so afraid to do it Brodie could just kiss this woman. The smile that became plastered upon his face would not fade no matter how hard he tried to shift it. After a few moments of a losing battle Brodie gave in and just grinned like a fool looking down at her. In just a few short hours this woman had such an affect on him it was unbelievable. Maybe, it would be a good idea to get to know more of her and the pard.
But now the big question is, where would they go? Brodie didn't want to go to a club or do anything other then to talk with her more. He started to think about dinner and what exactly he could do in order to make is special for her. Then it hit him, he wanted to take Amber to a restaurant that was on the outsides of town so they could be alone. However, he first needed to know what kind of food she liked to eat. There was so many thoughts buzzy and swirling inside the young panther's mind and felt as if he would just burst from anticipation. Though if this was going to work he had to keep calm and relax around her.
"How about dinner? What sort of food to you enjoy?" Brodie asked as if it were just another question. It would also give them something more to talk about and he could find out if she was a sweet or sour type of girl. Brodie loved food and seemed like he could talk about it all day long. His passion was for fried food however. He loved fried.... anything. Hopefully Amber would like something fried as well.

The smile on Brodie's face didn't escape Amber, it made her giggle a little that the smile was placed there by simply wanting to go out with him. "Dinner sounds good" she said, still not allowing herself to look over, instead letting the sky catch her attention although all thoughts were on the man lying next to her.
She laughed, "What type of food don't I enjoy should be the real question. I like everything from salads to fried chicken to pasta. I think the only thing I don't like is tofu." She turned back on her side, letting her guard down to go ahead and face Brodie. "How about you, what type of food do you like?"
There was no end to the amount of questions she had and the only thing holding her back from firing off questions was manners. "What is the best day for you to go out? Not sure how teacher's schedules work" she laughed nervously. "Any day really works for me, I have a flexible schedule right now for my judo class. It doesn't start again for a couple weeks."

"I would love anything that has to do with fried food. I love fried pickles, chicken, steak, just about anything. I love pasta, tomatoes, chips, anything really that has to do with fried and healthy green food. Though, I do have to agree with you tofu is not on my list of things to eat." He ran a hand through his short hair and looked up into Ambers eyes. She was wonderful. No, beyond wonderful.
Brodie was starting to become weaker by the minute. He was going on a date with a woman that was quick witted, loved food, and could understand what it was like to be a lycanthrope. Right now, Brodie's relationship life was turning around. The smile on his face showed that he was happy to be with Amber. She was so fun to be around and after a few awkward moments of stuttering it seemed as if she was relaxed enough to allow Brodie to do the same, or at least in his mind. He wanted to spend hour upon hours talking to her, but knew that the night would grow into daylight. He had school in the morning and needed sleep in order to handle the little darlings.
Standing up and holding a hand out to her to help her up. "I am sorry, but I have to go home now. I have classes in the morning. How about in two nights you meet me at the pard house at eight o'clock? Can call you a cab or walk you to some place in order to make sure you get home safe?" Brodie gave a sheepish grin. He wanted her to be safe, even though if it came down to a dark ally with Amber and a bad guy. His money was on Amber.

She laughed along with as Brodie spoke of all the fried foods he loved. "I've never had a fried pickle before, but it sounds yummy." Usually Amber would bitch and moan about being able to get up on her own, but she placed her hand in his and let Brodie help her up. "Thanks" she said as she wiped the sand from her jeans and slipped her boots back on. It also gave her an excuse to touch him again which put a smile on her face.
"Yeah I understand, have to be on your toes for those entertaining teenagers you teach." She told him where her bike was parked and they walked back to the club. She turned and faced Brodie, part of her wanting to kiss him goodnight but instead just smiled up into those blue eyes of his. "I guess I will see you in two nights then" she said biting at the corner of her lip. "Have a goodnight Brodie" she said before turning to put her helmet on and started her bike up.
She waved goodbye before pulling out and heading to her house. Amber locked the door and threw her keys into their bowl. "Wow" she said before getting undressed and crawling into bed. She fell asleep quickly thinking of the sweet leopard who she just met and then began counting down until she could see him again.
